That prelim still confuses me. Why did they include a picture of a cancelled playset in the survey rather than a sketch of the actual model? Sure, the set is the very last out of all 12 to be released (assuming the Donald one was cancelled and not postponed to 2025) and was thus not as polished as some the others, but still. The point of the survey was to determine prices, and you won't get useful results with a prelim this inaccurate. Unless they cared more about what customers may be willing to spend on an X-Mansion as a concept, rather than this particular version

Maybe it is too soon, sure. But the War Machine mech was so disapointing I just really hope we eventually get a classic War Machine whether in a set or a mech. God that mech was so disappointing for me. And on that note, I had no idea the Iron Man in set 76263 was comic based and I kind of want this set now for that figure alone. No idea what that Thanos is based off of though, looking at reference images he's not quite comic based, or MCU based. The angular gold plate on his chest is more reminiscent of the comics, but the set is labeled Infinity Saga. Maybe they labelled it that so it would be more in line with the other sets it released with? Either way, I'm getting the vibe that both figures are more on the comic side, which I love. Having said that, the mech itself is too ugly. But when the figures are that good should I even care?
BoyLego Posted June 11, 2024 Posted June 11, 2024 I thought the figure in the War Machine mech felt pretty comic based to me, with the lighter colour arms and face plate. In fact I was thinking it would pair well with the Iron Man in 76263.

Yes. JUST LOOK AT IT There's no way this is a sketch for a $300 D2C set in the year 2024. I know prototypes can be pretty different, but if this was the result of being tasked with creating a sketch of a D2C X-Mansion, I'd consider it a failed assignment. And then there's the minifig selection, which would fit much better with other sets from 10 years ago

The track record of them saying "and x number additional figures" or "possibly more" is not great, it often ends up that we not only don't get any additional figures, we don't get some of the ones they said would for sure be there. My guess is that lego, as we know, starts out with larger figure counts and whittles it down, and for some reason some leakers have been getting prelims of some sort with that larger number. (Side note- can you imagine if someone got ahold of Stafford's list early on and told us all there'd be 70 figures in the bugle?)

I think you're spot on that this is what leakers are seeing - I do wonder though, why don't they say 'x amount of/ x specific figures are in contention' for a given set? Like, for the X-Mansion, however many are in whatever prelims I'd imagine they're seeing, and then say that only about 10 will actually be included. That'd make WAY more sense to me than what I can only assume is making an educated guess on the final lineup.

(Jabba's Barge should be September I think and wasn't the maleficent dragon supposedly canned).

But that’s not my point, what I’m getting at is that it’s too small and facade-like to be a sketch for a big D2C set. Even a rough sketch should at the very least get the footprint and basic structure right
Yoggington Posted June 12, 2024 Posted June 12, 2024 Finally picked up the X-Jet, was a long wait for it to get under €50. I really hope the Mansion provides more bang for your buck.

At very least wait and see if the X-Mansion makes it redundant fig-wise ( and it could potentially have a mini X-jet too).

But to continue I could say that the smaller façade is because they hadn't set the price bracket they were aiming for yet? Hence the pricing survey...

To counter, I‘d say even the lower end of the price range is wayyyy higher than what the sketched model would have been priced at. Besides, the description included the piece count, didn‘t it? It was also around 3000 if I recall correctly, and that puny sketch can’t have been even close to that So either the designer collossally failed their assignment by providing a tiny sketch for a 3000 piece D2C and whoever was responsible for the survey just went with it, or the model was not in a presentable form yet and so they went with an old sketch for a cancelled playset instead I may be wrong of course, but in my estimation the latter is more likely.

Optimistically, because this has happened infrequently enough that they just don't realize that's what they're seeing. Cynically, because the larger figure lists get more clicks. 2 hours ago, Yoggington said: Finally picked up the X-Jet, was a long wait for it to get under €50. Lucky- I gave up. Haven't even seen a 20% sale on it near me. The store closest to me quite literally had a sale on all star wars and marvel sets... except for the X-jet. 1 hour ago, BrickBob Studpants said: To counter, I‘d say even the lower end of the price range is wayyyy higher than what the sketched model would have been priced at. I generally agree with you on this, but I remember the Sail Barge model being borderline unpresentable/not even the full barge or something. Could also have been part of an old model, or I could be misremembering, just bears mentioning.
BrickBob Studpants Posted June 12, 2024 Posted June 12, 2024 It‘s a tad early for 2025 rumours, but exabricks is hinting at something related to the airport battle from CA:CW for next year (at least that‘s what I gather from the GIF he posted in combination with „2025 is gonna be crazy“)

Venomized Airport confirmed?! Uj/ An Airport battle remake would be so dope. Maybe they could even make a new mould for War Machine to accommodate his shock baton. I hope that Star Wars teases for next year are next.

Maybe Giant-Man in the centre, with others fighting around him? I foresee a lot of clear posing bars! 1 hour ago, CloneCommando99 said: Maybe they could even make a new mould for War Machine to accommodate his shock baton. That thing lasted a few seconds before being broken, so I doubt that LEGO would go to the trouble of making an entirely new mould for it.

Civil War is one of my favorite MCU films. If this does end up being true, and we get that Airport Battle, then I’ll very happy. Those figures from 2016 look good for their time, but I think all of them need/deserve an update, especially that Mark 46. Cap’s suit from that film also deserves to be made. But yes, of course, I’ll try not to get too attached to a vague rumor. Edited June 12, 2024 by Swordy
HatBricks Posted June 12, 2024 Posted June 12, 2024 If that list of figures is indeed the final selection for X- Mansion (Wolverine, Cyclops, Storm, Jean Grey, Rogue, Prof X, Gambit, Beast, Morph and Magneto) it's kinda both great and slightly disappointing, but overall good all at the same time? It's certainly more compelling if one doesn't own the X-Jet. We're basically trading Jean, Gambit and Morph for Sabertooth, Mystique and Emma Frost. Gambit's my favourite so his inclusion would be a dream come true, and Jean is long long overdue in a non-comic con setting and Morph is pretty awesome to get, I honestly didn't think they were likely. (But it would be awesome life we could get some kinda dualmolded legs them and Cyclops could make use of) But man it would be a bummer not to get Sabertooth. Guess we'll just have to see. I suppose with X-men 97 and all there's no reason we can't get further X-Men stuff down the line.

I don't expect it or anything, but I think there's a solid chance - Magneto is basically THE X-Men villain (and LEGO certainly seems to agree), so having his actual villain suit in a set that isn't a mighty micros or 12 years old would just make sense to me. Would also explain how reuse-heavy the X-Mansion seems if Jean, Xavier, Morph, Gambit and Magneto are all new. 12 hours ago, HatBricks said: (But it would be awesome if we could get some kinda dualmolded legs them and Cyclops could make use of) I suppose with X-men 97 and all there's no reason we can't get further X-Men stuff down the line. I also feel like dual molded + printed legs for Cyclops is more or less a guarantee, because Morph's costume is designed literally exactly the same way for their legs. It's one more piece, but it can be used on two figures. And yeah, I really hope that we get more sets with more seasons, or even more for this season! A Sentinel in a 2025 wave would be fantastic, or more CMF places if they bring back the Marvel CMF. Nightcrawler especially could use the CMF treatment. I believe '97 season 2 is already either recording or wrapped recording for its voice acting, so I could see it coming later in 2025.
