I think that it is less likely that’s LEGO is using AI to generate names, and more likely that they are just trying to cram as many search keywords into the names as possible (so that when parents Google “LEGO Iron Man”, this set appears).

Just something other than... A blank wall. This is what I just can't understand about Marvel sets lately, the relative lack of villains compared to years past. Kids LIKE having bad guys to play with. Especially for a theme like this where good guy / bad guy conflict is like the whole point. Even if it was a random brick built robot, no additional figure required, I'm sure kids would enjoy this set more.
THELEGOBATMAN Posted June 18, 2024 Posted June 18, 2024 It's even more painful when you get reminded that once upon a time Super Heroes sets had awesome names like Gorilla Grodd goes Bananas or The Goat Boat. Now the latter would just be named Thor with the Goats and a Boat and Mighty Thor and King Valkyrie and Korg vs. Gorr.
Lego Nostalgia Posted June 18, 2024 Posted June 18, 2024 This is completely unrelated to Marvel but maybe it is but is there gonna be 2025 leaks soon ? Brickclicker posted something about 2025 with a vault

It could be a vehicle, or a giant Buildable item, a building facade, etc. And even if it is a movie diorama, there’s 20-30 movies out there with multiple scenes that could be turned into dioramas so it doesn’t narrow it down much at all.
cosmic Posted June 19, 2024 Posted June 19, 2024 Okay so maybe the name is kind of dumb but I love this set. I really wanted this Iron Man the first time he popped up but I hated the set he came in. That had to be the ugliest hulk buster we’ve ever gotten and we already had comic accurate Thanos in his mech. Being able to skip the ugly Hulk mech and the ugly Hulk Buster set and getting the best figures from both sets for just $15 is such a steal. Who cares if there’s no antagonists, 2 amazing figures and a decent build for $15 is a catch for me. If you didn’t skip out on the Hulkbuster and Hulk mech, you may not understand. But for people like me who missed out on both figures because the sets they came in were ugly, this relatively appealing build with both figs is exciting. The name is dumb but I’m not keeping the box anyways, so this is cool to me.
calebcold3 Posted June 20, 2024 Posted June 20, 2024 (edited) Is the mini-scale Helicarrier the last Marvel set (not counting The X-Mansion of course) that is left to be revealed for this year? If so, that was fast. I wonder when we will hear about 2025 leaks since it was August last year when we first heard about this year's winter wave. Anyways, I'm bored and here's what I expect (plus some wants) for 2025 tbh: 2 Mechs 1 Comic Spider-Man set 2 Thunderbolts* sets 3 Construction figures 1 helmet/mask (Miles Morales maybe?) 3 MCU Fantastic Four movie sets 1 X-Men '97 set (a Sentinel build similar to Surtur?) X-Men '97 Advent calendar D2C Helicarrier 7 Infinity Saga Sets (One of the sets being Civil War based) Can't believe I made a 2025 set prediction list for the whole next year but hey I was bored Edited June 20, 2024 by calebcold3

I feel bad for Anthony Mackie. He was a great falcon and I feel he would do well as captain america (though I thought the TFATWS writing for him was pretty weak... especially that end speech. It feels like someone remembered last-minute that Cap gives great speeches and just made something up on the spot for him to say), but man, I have no faith in this movie. The random assortment of Hulk elements, the fact that they've chosen the controversial concept of "captain america fights the sitting US president" which is way beyond MCU writing's current ability to pull off, the fact that it's probably one of the most extensively reshot marvel films for a "solo" film at this point- allegedly due to test scores, the amount of delay after the start of filming- I just don't think this is going to work. My main want from the marvel line right now is Oscorp, so I'm crossing my fingers the january wave has a solid number of spider-man sets with new figures, because otherwise I don't think we're getting it unless the fig count is drastically lower than the bugle.

I'm not asking for Sam to deliver the speech from Winter Soldier every time he shows up, but I need more than the "do better" speech. I mean.... so is the Bugle, isn't it? Oscorp arguably has more to work with design-wise as you can throw some more sci-fi esque architecture onto it, sleeker angles, black coloration, even some tinted green windows around the penthouse if they want. 4 hours ago, CF Mitch said: Aw, really? It feels like something some random guy would say if he confronted a politician he didn't like, not like a captain america speech. The message also just seems to be "hey government, you should help people", which again, just comes off more like Sam lecturing some jerkwad politician than the inspiring speeches Cap is usually giving out.

I'm not asking for Sam to deliver the speech from Winter Soldier every time he shows up, but I need more than the "do better" speech. Just a thought, but hear me out. Steve comes from a time where the people were thought to be the government, whereas Sam lives in a time where the politicians are thought to be the government. Thus, both are changing to change government policies, but address different aspects. I think Steve’s line of thinking is more correct, but I’ll be interested to see how Sam’s dynamic develops in CA:BNW. To be fair, the speech is still dumb, but nonetheless intriguing. Meanwhile, I’m cautiously optimistic about BNW. Kevin compared it to TWS, and that alone gives me hope. The only thing that could hold BNW back is a lack of the emotion that TWS has. Regardless, we’ll get Old Man Han Red-Hulking out and I really enjoy Anthony Mackie, so those two aspects alone should hopefully redeem the movie, right? (“We’ll get Kang the Conqueror and I really enjoy Paul Rudd, so nothing can wrong!”) For sets in 2025, bring forth Galactus! At the very least, though, I expect Fantastic Four set or two and a Thunderbolts* set as well. I also hope for Civil War, AoU, and RagnaThork sets. An X-Men ‘97 set, similar to the Surtur set with a Sentinel, Gambit, Wolverine, and Jean Grey instead, would be appreciated, That Doc Ock construction figure is a genius idea, @Scarilian, I would really love that. Maybe we can even finally get AtSV-inspired sets?
Buckethead Posted June 23, 2024 Posted June 23, 2024 Spoiler Some new rumors for Fantastic Four and X-Men came out. Fantastic Four may feature other villains besides Galactus for small roles in the first act. Some suspected characters include Mole Man, Red Ghost, and maybe more. I feel like Fantastic Four should get at least two sets. Cramming the four in one big set with Galactus and Silver Surfer (if we get them) will be much, and I hope to get alternate versions of the characters (Johnny's flame on form, translucent Sue, etc.), so hopefully we'll get some other characters besides the four plus Silver Surfer. The new X-Men reboot is rumored to feature most, if not all, of the characters from the '97 series. Not the same versions, of course, just that we'll get a similar roster. This would suggest that the lineup we get in the X-Mansion set will roughly be the lineup for the MCU film. Set possibilities based off some new rumors floating around.

I'll be disappointed if one small set is all we get out of X-Men next year. At the very least the characters should also have some presence in the next CMF series. Nightcrawler and Jubilee are essential to the team and it would be nice to get Sinister and Bastion before Season 2 rolls around. As a long term Marvel collector I also hope next year won't be too heavily focused on the Infinity Saga. There's only so many times they can keep recycling the same material. At this stage the only sets I really want out of Age of Ultron are an updated Quinjet and Final Battle diorama. As long as they include Ultron, Quicksilver, AOU Scarlet Witch and a non-phasing Vision I'm happy to leave it at that. Revisiting Civil War doesn't excite me in the slightest because I can't see it bringing much new to the table. We already have a giant Ant-Man set still on shelves and most of the character variants aren't all that exciting. The only draw for me there would be getting a regular sized Ant-Man minifigure to go alongside the Wasp that came in Avengers Tower. Don't have much interest in Thunderbolts beyond US Agent and Red Guardian potentially getting minifigures but I am looking forward to the Fantastic Four. Even if the film turns out to be a flop I'll still be happy just to have sets for them. Edited June 23, 2024 by wesker
