Given the track record of the mechs Ultron is probably comics based. Also with Anti-Venom being in the set it would make sense if Spider-Man had the symbiote suit but I wouldn’t hold my breath for that

Given that we had a venom mech last year, I can't imagine we'd get symbiote spidey mech this year- it'd be to similar unless it's symbiote spider-man in a red and blue mech, which I don't think they do.

Though tbh I think they know perfectly well how much we want a symbiote spidey and are saving him for Oscorp or whatever the next spidey D2C is.

I actually had the thought too that the cap 4 set could be cancelled, why would they release 2 sets around the same time with potentially the same minifig? I hope otherwise but I am worried

As I questioned earlier, I think it's possible this is a minifig red hulk, since the price seems suspiciously good for a set with two cars, at least two minifigs, and a bigfig.

Of course I might be wrong, but including „Spiderverse“ in the name of the set is a strong indicator for it being based on ATSV :sweet: Sure, the term exists outside the movies, but that‘s what people think of when they hear it. Kinda false advertising, if it‘s based on the comics  It‘d be like slapping the name „Infinity War“‘ on the box of a comic-based set. Technically not a lie, but not what most people would associate with the name.

I don't think these are the actual names.

The one set, for instance, is 100% going to be something like "Avengerstm takedown: Iron Mantm in Iron Car and Black Panthertm in Panthermobile vs the Red Hulktm"

Are the buildable construction figures dead? I figured we would hear about them from the set list yesterday but they could be back for April next year (similar to how this year was with Iron Spider and Green Goblin)

Minisuperheroestoday says that he hears from his friends that work at the LEGO Stores that they sell REALLY well with kids, while Ashnflash says they are the biggest shelf warmers every time he goes shopping, so it's a mixed bag when it comes to the sales of them it seems.

Honestly, the only buildable construction figures I would want that I can imagine that wouldn't looked cursed are Spider-Gwen, Carnage, Star-Lord and War Machine.

Hopefully, but they could just be taking some time off (like the Star Wars helmet line).

Oh how I wish the return of the SW helmet line was Palpatine's hooded face.

I think the constraction line's not dead yet, as nice as that would be. I don't think it's done super well, I don't think anyone but Iron Man, Spider-men, and Venom even have a shot at doing well, but I also don't think Cap, Wolvie, etc were long enough ago or shelfwarmed spectacularly enough for them to cancel the 2025 sets.

Also, has anyone noticed lego's weird recent tendency to stray from minifigure/system sets in licensed themes? We were talking about all the 18+ sets in the star wars thread, and I'm just realizing marvel doesn't just do the same thing with their 18+ sets, it does the same thing with their kids sets.

I can't wait until we get infinity saga Spider-Man sets (excluding NWH). I'd love a FFH final battle set, being a bridge build with the giant wind monster and mocap Quentin. Maybe a ferry set from Homecoming or the final battle from that movie so we could FINALLY get an official homemade suit Spider-Man MCU figure

A new NWH set would be an opportunity to get the 2002 Suit Green Goblin and new Iron Spider, perhaps a Bridge Battle would be cool but I doubt it'll be made

Minifigure / system scale sets are the heart and soul of Lego and that’s probably a hill most of us would die on. It’s always fun when Lego switch things up by dedicating a set or two towards non-system builds if only for the novelty of it, but I definitely feel it’s become really excessive at this point.

It’s interesting to hear all these anecdotes about how the buildable figures are selling. They shelf-warm everywhere I’ve seen them too, but the sales numbers probably speak differently.

LEGO is allergic to actually using The Infinity Saga subtheme to give us fresh sets with minifigures we've never gotten before.

Thor. The First Avenger. The Dark World (okay, no one actually wants that). The Winter Soldier. Accurate sets for Doctor Strange, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, Homecoming.

Apart from a single Iron Man set, a semi-accurate Iron Man 2 and accurate Endgame sets, what did we really get? More sets from Avengers, Guardians of the Galaxy, Age of Ultron, Civil War and so on — all of which got a bunch of sets when they released.

I'm not saying that those movies shouldn't also be getting sets, but it feels like they're missing the opportunity to give us something we've actually never got before.

Not to mention that The Infinity Saga being the biggest and most important wave of the year shows just how creatively bankrupt this theme is. They should contain it to a small Winter wave, and make an actual, interesting comicbook wave in the Summer with fresh characters, vehicles and locations.

Whoah, whoah, whoah. Speak for yourself
I wouldn't mind an MCU Malekith and Skurge(?), and I can see a Midi-scale version of their ship :innocent:

But yeah, sets from other phase 1 and phase 2 movies would be very welcome :sweet:

Do you think LEGO will release FF sets and how many will there be?

With the exception of the R-rated Deadpool & Wolverine, every MCU movie in recent years has gotten at least one Lego set (although the buildable Ant-Man for Quantumania just barely qualifies IMO). It might be a single set with just the core team (similar to the Hoopty set for The Marvels) if Lego are cautious about potential sales and/or Marvel are worried about sharing spoilers, but hopefully we'll get a few sets akin to Wakanda Forever or GotG Vol. 3. The Fantastic Four are more familiar to the public than many other superheroes, so hopefully Lego will take full advantage to give us a good range of sets. Time will tell.

If they give the Miles Vs Spot set the Spider-Verse branding, then I will absolutely buy Day 1, regardless of how much they will rip me off. (Not a question of if, but how.) If they don’t, I’ll be glad to have an official Spot.

That said, I wish we got the Prowler first. Hopefully, maybe soon? Can we also get Miles’ ItSV suit with the graffiti logo as well, since I’m not a fan of bleeding armpits?

Now if that set includes Spider-Punk or Spider-Man India, I’ll die an overjoyed man.

LEGO seems to have figured out that they can just smush a second villain figure into a set for the third (and fourth!) mech belonging to a recognizable hero and get more sales that way. Kids get their favorite hero and a cool villain to fight, and we get a long-desired character. Simply put, it’s genius, and I applaud LEGO for doing this—barring these rumors turn out completely true.

My hope is that Ultron is comic-based (but not simplified) and Spider-Man is the symbiote suit (and, to differentiate from the Venom and War Machine mechs, have Spidey’s mech be half-venomized, still retaining some bits of red and blue).

Venom’s Venomized Car—🤣 sorry, I can’t—may sound boring. It probably will be—UNLESS, hear me out, we get Agent Venom as well. He showed on a Brickheadz box, so he’s basically confirmed, right? *turns off sarcasm mode* Seriously though, Agent Venom could work, so long as he isn’t reserved to a D2C modular or something like that. (I fully expect a Venomized Daily Bugle with the high concentration of Venom lately.)

Just to get y’all’s take, what would you think if Stan Lee was included in the buildable logo?

To me, if people would think including him in the Bugle or the Avengers Tower would be grifting, I would hate to see their reaction to putting Stan the Man in a set not many would want otherwise.

Winter wave sounds very promising, if a little odd in a few places. I can only hope they don’t mess up the Airport Battle or the Miles vs Spot set.

Feige has a lot of faith in the Fantastic Four film, so much so that instead of saying D&W or the next MCU film is his most anticipated film, he said that he’s looking forward to Fantastic Four. This is a dream project of his, and I believe that optimism and faith will trickle down to toys and merch. I believe we’ll see at least three sets, similar to GotG Vol 3. Call me blindly optimistic, but that’s my take.

My guess is that the construction figures will be an April release again. Hopefully they're smart enough to release Galactus and a Sentinel next year.

I want sets from The Dark World primarily for Asgard and the Dark Elves. Asgard in particular is one corner of the MCU that Lego hasn't touched yet despite being one of the more iconic locations from the franchise and home to a large portion of Thor's cast. The Destroyer from the first Thor film and anything Hydra related from Captain America: The First Avenger would also make for some great sets.

At most 3. I would love it if they did 4 so they could market it as the "THE FANTASTIC 4 LEGO FANTASTIC FOUR SETS!" but that's just the dad joke humor in me.

If I had to guess, probably a $10 set, $35 set, and $90 set, similar to the GOTG 3 wave last year.

What do you mean by “unique”?

I meant a helmet for Black Panther or something similar. Don't know why, but most BP figures have been rather simple for a character of his standing. He needs a touch up.

I agree, but I also think that a helmet would be too large for him. Maybe a moulded headpiece would work?

the marvel logo will include 5 minifigures apparently, most if not all are reused

Whew. That’s a relief to see they’ll all be reused. Hopefully this’ll remain try for the Star Wars logo, although the LSW group do like their exclusive collectibles.

For Marvel, I can see Spidey, comic Iron Man, a new comic Captain America, Hulk, Wolverine, and either Professor X, Cyclops, or an exclusive Deadpool to annoy everybody.

they are avengers being reused from the tower/August wave apparently 😬

Cap, Thor, Scarlet Witch, Iron Man, Bruce or Nick Fury (one or the other)

Oh, an even bigger relief.

Basically, I can skip this set because I still need to save up for the Tower.

So since when has Scarlet Witch become an integral, iconic part of Marvel over Spider-Man or the X-Men? Bah humbug, I say!

If the leak is true, then the minifigure line-up is awful.

Not to mention that the logo itself is 100€. Let that sink in — a logo. Made with LEGO bricks. For 100€.

I would've hoped for atleast 1 new figure :(

I mean it's definitely not for me. But I'm sure we all know a dude that a giant lego marvel logo would be perfect for. Great fathers day gift.

I may be wrong, but I think Marvel owns these characters- at least the ones that aren't unique to Spiderverse. Why would you want them to be Spiderverse branded? If anything, Lego using generic Marvel branding is GOOD, because the less money Sony makes off of these movies the better, and it doesn't seem to impact the characters' popularity of Marvel's willingness to make toys.

I get what you mean, but I feel in love with those characters because of the Spider-Verse movies, not because of comics. Although I do give respect to the comic look, I’d rather get the designs from Spider-Verse.

I get wanting Sony’s bad Marvel movies to fail—I do too. But the Spider-Verse films have been great—nay, unbelievable, super cool, outrageous, amazing, phenomenal, fantastic, and so incredible—and I want those films to get representation in LEGO. If Sony allows people to make one film, even a trilogy of films, that is/are actually good, why shouldn’t they make money?

I just want LEGO to not hide behind the whole, “Well acxtually, it’s comic based, acxtually,” and do something brand-wise with one of the most popular and best films of the last few years.

At the very least, we’d get some cool box art out of it.
