I believe we know the set number (76294) thanks to @Falconfan1414, but that's all outside of survey leaks.

However there are two scenes in the movie that would fit the bill: the Battle of Titan, and the Battle of Wakanda. But a twist to make this cooler, is to do both sets, with an expansion that combines them together Set 1: Titan Figures: Thanos, Iron Spider, Doctor Strange, Nebula (all new), Iron Man, Star Lord, Drax, Mantis (all repeat) Build: wreckage of Nebula's ship, magic steps for Star Lord, portals for Spidey to jump through. Base is dark red to represent Titan. Infinity Gauntlet included with Space, Power, Reality and Soul Stones, with a secret hidden Time Stone I actually built basically exactly this, with my friend Buzz doing the figs! Not a black base, but I think we started this before that was even a thing :)

Its almost 7 years old. You're comparing it to NWH which is very recent and didnt recieve tie ins despite being VERY toy-friendly, whereas comparing it to Guardians 1 is more appropriate- Rocket's Warbird is also from "the final battle" but dont count your chickens on anything more than the Milano. I'd literally bet money right now that Surtur's going to be a "buildable figure" a la Spidey/Antman Quantumania/etc... and I guarantee he will be agnostic of either part of the movie (theyre not going to promote this set having him sit in a chair lol).
JeanGreyForever Posted January 18, 2024 Posted January 18, 2024 13 hours ago, poisonbricks said: I feel like if the Surtur set has a figure besides Thor and a fire demon, it'll be Valkyrie in her Endgame battle suit. I'm not sure a set so (relatively) inexpensive based on such a popular film really needs to sell itself with a Hela fig, especially with a new helmet mold being basically necessary (unless they'd just do her without it?) If we get another Hela I think it'd be in a larger Asgard set - LEGO has to know people would buy that Hela doesn't wear her headdress for long stretches of the movie. I can't remember if in the final battle she's wearing the headdress the whole time or not but it could be an option to feature her with just her hair. 14 hours ago, Agent Kallus said: Its assumed that it's based on the Muspelheim battle that opens the film, rather than the Asgard battle that closes it. But it could be either, just I think most of us would rather the final battle got a larger set. But even if it is the first battle with Surt, Lego could still throw in characters from the film who weren't in that exact scene, they've done it before. Good point. I'm hoping it's the final battle too which I imagine is better known and would sell more. And you're also right that even if it's the first battle, that wouldn't necessarily stop Lego from including other characters. I can't imagine Ragnarok will continue to get a whole lot more sets, so hopefully Lego uses this opportunity to bring back Hela rather than wait for a future set.

I can see it either being the upper body of Surtur facing off against Thor and Valkyrie or Thor and Hela, in which case Lego adapting Ragnarok into a final battle set is extremely likely OR a Zurg-style brick-built figure intended for playability where Surtur is fighting Thor and potentially a Fire Demon or inserting a supporting character from another part of the film. The latter would'nt erase the potential for an upper body buildable figure of Surtur, it'd just mean that Lego wants to try and appeal to those wanting a figure for playability as opposed to just for display. Naturally if it is a buildable figure, given the price, that would eat into the piece count and mean it probably would'nt have a side build. I'm predicting the latter with the set box art showing him fighting Thor, using his fire sword, which was one of the main things in marketing with Thor spinning his hammer to stop the fire reaching him. It's also the only time he actually fights Surtur in the movie :p The chair or more likely the cage would just be a side build because they'd want something more to the set than just a figure vs a brick-built figure and the set-up of the scene has Surtur in his chair monologuing and Thor imprisoned with chains after falling out of a bone cage. 8 hours ago, thebricksbear said: I mean this would be great but Ragnarok is not going to get an entire wave. They'd probably want to revisit Phase 1-3 films which were popular. Thor: Ragnarok is the most financially succesful Thor film and in terms of untapped set potential they've never adapted Surtur and they've never given us Asgard. They've also recently re-introduced the new Hulk big-fig and would want to maximise it's usage so adapting the final battle of Thor: Ragnarok would make sense. Similar to NWH it'd also make sense to give us a buildable figure scale upper body of Surtur as a seperate set, so the main final battle set could focus as a display piece of Asgard and the Rainbow Bridge which would sell well without Surtur and would work as a depiction of the final battle against Hela. Gladiator Hulk would probably come later when they start doing the big-figs with helmets and accessories - such as Thanos with his helmet.
NXS7 Posted January 19, 2024 Posted January 19, 2024 (edited) X Mansion comes with either 3093 or 3122 pieces, depending on which source you look at 20 hours ago, poisonbricks said: I actually built basically exactly this, with my friend Buzz doing the figs! If this set is the church, you'd need a wide enough interior to fit enough figures including a Hulk, and I just couldn't see it looking great So yeah, my ideas were more open grounded to combine them together, because it would be a shame for LEGO to limit their sets by putting them on a black base Edited January 19, 2024 by NXS7

Figure count is more difficult to gauge, but I’m sticking with my estimate of 10.

UCS Goblin Glider?

BrickBob Studpants Posted January 19, 2024 Posted January 19, 2024 My money is on a new large-scale Batmobile. If it’s a Marvel set though, I’m guessing another buildable object. 21 minutes ago, Chris10 said: It’s time for Hulk pants! Or how about Hawkeye’s quiver? Or BW’s batons?

Furthermore, it is immersed in a park, and I continue to maintain that it would not make sense to insert it into the city. A mysterious 18+… deadpool??? :-D

PsychoBuilder Posted January 20, 2024 Posted January 20, 2024 Alright, whose gonna make the "Eating Deadpool bet" More seriously, I'm not so sure I love the idea of getting more sets like last year's Endgame diorama. It's a neat one-off, but I'm not so sure that the way they went with it was the right way to go about it--a pile of rubble can only get you so far with a diorama. I think it could be moderately more interesting with more defined locations, items, or structures, like the No Way Home sets, but I also think and kind of hope it stays limited in that regard. I'd be up for some GotG2 sets like the finale or the opening vs the Abilisk that might be interesting, but I really cannot think of others that would be much more than fig packs--even the fight on Titan in IW doesn't really make a lot of sense to me. Honestly, a collection of small vehicles and builds might even be a better pick for the AoU and 2012 final battle sets.

I'll add to it that this is the only marvel set I've seen on clearance at the local walmart aside from the Wakanda forever sets. My guess is the majority of adults-that-aren't-AFOLs would have rather had a diorama of the big three facing Thanos, and even for diehards, when you come down to it, it's not exactly representing a scene from the film. Aside from the oddly vertical rubble not really being a thing, the "she's got help" scene didn't have Thanos fighting all the female heroes- they just lined up for the hero shot and then attacked the army, with Captain Marvel and Scarlet Witch being the only ones to actually face Thanos personally in that battle IIRC. It's just not really representing anything beyond "the endgame battle" generally, and if that's all it's doing, I think a lot of people would want the snap, or the 3v1, or the portals scene more generally. That's all to say I think future black-base sets either need a build that is ideally interesting but at the very least was actually a thing, as well as being based on a specific scene from their film- ideally a very well-loved one. There aren't a ton of sets that fit that bill (especially when you consider the fact that the No Way Home one of these, while not a shelfwarmer, wasn't the resounding bestseller we all expected a set with the three spideys to be), and realistically the only ones I can think of are the Titan battle and endgame 3v1, which again just hit back to being rubble. (The upsides being that the 3v1 could realistically be done for $40-50, making it cheap enough to do well IMO, and the titan battle at least has some visually unique rubble/architecture, as well as a reason for some really vertical rubble (thanos's moon throw)
