I think a bigfig would make sense for the Thing. The games showed how well that works!

I think a bigfig would make sense for the Thing. The games showed how well that works! Typically, ensemble films from Marvel get 3 or more sets. Even last year, Guardians had 3 sets. With the characters likely getting matching costumes, I can see them recycling parts in multiple sets (maybe even for Avengers), so I feel optimistic in 2 or more sets. If lego cuts corners, I could see the Thing being a mini figure and use the same legs as the others. Like Korg, they could give him a stone-textured headpiece. From the footage shown at SDCC, he's not much taller than the others (about the same as Korg), so I could see it going either way.
wesker Posted July 29, 2024 Posted July 29, 2024 I have no problems with The Thing being a regular minifigure. Groot and Korg worked well at that scale and it will be much easier having a minifigure be able to interact with a potential Fantasticar or Baxter Building than a big fig would. Speaking of the Baxter Building I really like the sleek design they've gone with for the film. Hopefully we get a set of it in some form next year. A modular building would be preferable but I'd settle for a playscale version like the earlier Avengers Tower sets.
calebcold3 Posted July 30, 2024 Posted July 30, 2024 My minifigure line up predictions for the Civil War and Endgame 2025 sets: Civil War set: Captain America, Iron-Man, Wanda, Black Widow (those 4 are already confirmed), Falcon (reuse from the Tower), Bucky, Vision, Spider-Man Endgame set: Iron-Spider (already confirmed), Thanos, Wong, Doctor Strange, War Machine, Rocket, Chitauri, Corvus Glaive, Ronin
kevkipo Posted July 30, 2024 Posted July 30, 2024 Wow so the Miles and Spot set is actually from the SpiderVerse movies huh?? I didn't see that coming... I'm really glad they start to make Spiderverse sets, actually makes me want to buy this set, I haven't bought an actual set in like 5 years...

Nah. Let the DC fans get the modular next year. It’s probably the year where a Daily Planet would be most likely.
THELEGOBATMAN Posted July 30, 2024 Posted July 30, 2024 Hulk Monster Truck coming in Winter 2025 for 35€ with a Hulk minifigure (from exabricks).

As long as one of them gets the next D2C spot I'm happy with either option. Its too bad we can't get both next year. The Daily Planet releasing around May and the Baxter Building around November (or vise versa) would be an absolute win, but I admit that's pretty unrealistic and understand Lego not wanting to flood the market with too many modular buildings in one year. 3 hours ago, THELEGOBATMAN said: Hulk Monster Truck coming in Winter 2025 for 35€ with a Hulk minifigure (from exabricks). Hopefully there's additional characters included. I second that this is a good place for the Leader to show up. I'd love to get that comic Vision minifigure featured in the new Lego Disney+ special as well.

If there was another figure, we’d probably hear something about that. Besides, there’s not a good way to pull of The Leader’s head without a new mold and Lego is allergic to new mold for Marvel (unless it’s a helmet for Iron Man).
psqidexslizer Posted July 30, 2024 Posted July 30, 2024 (edited) Per exabricks, the minifigures in the Ironman vs Ultron and Iron Man and Black Panther vs Red Hulk sets are comic based. Edited July 30, 2024 by psqidexslizer
poisonbricks Posted July 30, 2024 Posted July 30, 2024 Crazy excited for a comic-based Ultron figure. They'll probably just reuse the generic Iron Man we've been getting this past few years, but I'd love to see a more 'classic' version too

Lego Nostalgia Posted July 30, 2024 Posted July 30, 2024 (edited) A Hulk Monster Truck, really ffs, is it that hard to make location based sets with these characters instead of cars that these certain heroes don't and will never use. 9 hours ago, kevkipo said: Wow so the Miles and Spot set is actually from the SpiderVerse movies huh?? Yeah, I’d bet good money on it being the same Iron Man from the past few years. And the same Hulk. But at least we’re getting new comic accurate version of Red Hulk, Ultron, and probably Black Panther (I’m assuming the 2020 version is out of production by now).
The_Fiery_Rooster Posted July 30, 2024 Posted July 30, 2024 Super happy to see it confirmed we're getting more comic based sets. MCU stuff can look cool, but I really like the more saturated and clean look of most comic designs. Plus, I find the builds more creative, even if they're silly. Speaking of, the news of Hulk's monster truck makes it seem very likely that the Red Hulk in 76310 will be a minifig and not a bigfig. I was hoping it would provide an alternative to the overpriced cap 4 set. As for RDJ as Doctor Doom, as long as he isn't just 'evil iron man', it could work I guess. Everything they announced about those avengers films feels very desperate though, which doesn't give me a while lot of confidence. I'm just happy we're getting a new Dr. Doom minifig soon, alongside the fantastic 4 and hopefully a good Galactus too! These days, the minifig potential excites me more than the films themselves, lol.
THELEGOBATMAN Posted July 30, 2024 Posted July 30, 2024 Frankly, I'd be more excited for comicbook sets if they weren't just mechs and trucks. A few years ago, I wouldn't care for comicbook sets a bit, and would gladly just make the whole theme MCU-based. Funny how that turns out, because I'd gladly contain MCU sets to small waves or single sets for movies, and a single wave for The Infinity Saga sets. I really want more comicbook sets, but I've no interest in them if they're just generic vehicles. No sauce at all.
JohnTPT17 Posted July 30, 2024 Posted July 30, 2024 MCU, comic-based... Just give me some new characters, or at least cheaper versions of existing characters that still look nice, and I'll be happy.
wesker Posted July 30, 2024 Posted July 30, 2024 Glad its confirmed comic Avengers sets are making a comeback. The builds may not be great but at least they offer something new. The Infinity Saga feels like its been milked dry at this point aside from a couple of neglected solo films. I'm really looking forward to seeing how they pull Ultron off and like the suggestion of him using Ant-Man/Firefly's helmet. For anyone that missed it - Comic Vision is also featured in the next Lego Disney+ special. Hopefully he gets a physical release sometime in the next year.

I really do wish these specials would get some sets for Marvel - the Star Wars one gets its own little wave, and these have the potential to be total minifigure goldmines. That Klawe and Vision alone, even just one per set, would totally sell basically any set for me.

JohnTPT17 Posted July 31, 2024 Posted July 31, 2024 Let's not get too overhyped for Mission Demolition, y'all. The Code: Red movie from last year didn't produce any of the cool Hydra soldiers, The Collector, or anybody else IRL, and I doubt this one will either (though I do wish they would take a page out of DC's book and have minifigure polybags with the DVD releases so we at least get something...)

CloneCommando99 Posted July 31, 2024 Posted July 31, 2024 I just watched Deadpool and Wolverine. I really want some sets.
