poisonbricks Posted August 16, 2024 Posted August 16, 2024 Well, that's not great news. A Rescue figure to me would've added like $10 value at least, without her the only real draw is Iron Patriot, because I really can't see the Igor build being particularly competent. Killian might be cool, I'd love to have a figure that looks more like him, but if he's not got any cool Extremis details he might just end up looking like some random guy. Still holding onto hope that maybe Rescue is in the Endgame portals set and there was just a miscommunication haha Regardless, they better not change the armory cell design again, and they better include as many as they can possibly budget for. The last set was an abysmal value.

Personally this sounds like a definite skip for me, given I lived the original Hall of Armor sets, and since then they've remodeled the containers and the suit helmets. A new Igor sounds cool, but I worked hard to get mine down to minifig scale and I'd bet this one is gonna be even bigger than the original. I suppose it really depends on whether Rescue and IP are in the set and look good.

He confirms Killian () Did he say what Killian will look like? I would personally prefer the Extremis + dragon tattoos design from the end of the final battle, since his other outfits are fairly generic and relatively easy to cobble together (the original torso also holds up pretty well).
CloneCommando99 Posted August 17, 2024 Posted August 17, 2024 (edited) I really hope that it’s Black Suit Spiderman in the Mech. Why else would they use Anti-venom instead of venom or carnage. As for my thoughts on the Modular next year. IMO it will either be Arkham or Malibu Mansion. I highly doubt it would be the Daily Planet or Oscorp. As both could impact the sales of the Daily Bugle. The sales of the Daily Bugle shouldn't even be a factor. The earliest we can realistically expect the next modular to release is the second half of 2025 and by that point the Bugle will already be winding down its production run. If Lego decides to keep November as the release date for all superhero modulars going forward you'll be lucky to even find the Bugle still in stock.

LegendaryArticuno Posted August 18, 2024 Posted August 18, 2024 Marvel sets we need - DEADPOOL & WOLVERINE SPOILERS Spoiler 1. Wade's birthday party - similar to New Asgard/Bro Thor set, should include a lot of minifigs, Wade, Colossus, Negasonic, Yukio, Vanessa, Blind Al and Peter 2. DP&W ending scene diorama - might be harder to execute since minifigs don't have horizontal arm movement, but should include Deadpool, shirtless Wolverine, Cassandra Nova and Paradox On 8/10/2024 at 8:40 PM, Kaijumeister said: Obviously the R-rated stuff isn’t something Lego would compromise on, but you just know the Lego Superheroes team would’ve watched Deadpool and Wolverine and lamented at how good the set (or at least minifigure) potential was. I’d love to see that live action yellow suit for Wolverine in minifigure form at least at some point. The R-rating is a cheap excuse and pathetic copout in which Lego already has a solution, they can just spam 18+ Adults Welcome branding all over it. Hopefully LEGO's greed and desire to maximize profits surpasses their silly self-imposed restrictions.

It's simple gimmick, plain and simple, so Deadpool is NOT happening. Not now, not anytime soon, and probably not ever. We'll get Deadpool when LEGO releases sets from WWII, or a minifig-scale torture chamber. This will, of course, happen two days after the end of time. Edited August 18, 2024 by Murdoch17

Nobody would take it seriously as such, considering that the Winnie the Pooh and Sesame Street Ideas sets also have an 18+ branding They would not be able to hide behind that. Edit: Ninja’d! LegendaryArticuno Posted August 19, 2024 Posted August 19, 2024 Boo, well maybe we'll get a comic version of Deadpool then similar to Dare Devil. At it's core DP&W is a movie about family and friendship, it forced the "R-Rating" with some jokes about cocaine and a bit of gore, otherwise it's family friendly as it gets.

The last set was an abysmal value. Everything about this rumored armory is an easy pass for me. Hoping we get a D2C Malibu Mansion with a decked out interior to put an end to all Hall of Armors by giving us not just the armory, but the very building its inside of. Also I feel the Portals set should have came with Giant Man, Iron Patriot, Rocket Raccoon and Hulk in his End Game black and red suit. That scene where Giant Man bursts out of the broken head quarters felt so iconic and would love to recreate it. I know this may be harsh but besides the Helicopter with Rescue and the Iron Gauntlet, all the End Game sets Lego has done have been kind of terrible. To me, anyways. And finally, no I have not yet watched Across the Spiderverse, and I do understand that her inclusion is likely very reasonable, but good lord I am so over the Spider Gwen presence in Lego. Like? I would have killed to have another SpiderMan Noir, or finally getting Jessica Drew in a mainline set. It would be awesome to see Gwen Pool, even. It's not so much that I don't think she should be in this set, on the contrary I feel her presence makes lots of sense. But the choice to constantly include her over Spideys other supporting cast is tiring. I want to see Gwen Stacy, Mary Jane Watson, Flash Thompson (not as Anti Venom just as himself), Eddy Brock, or Eddy Brock mid transformation into the Venom. Feels like we get the same cast of Spidey characters every year, and besides the villains this year seems to be the same. Sure Anti Venom and the Spot are new, but the side characters are as repetitive as ever. And finally I really wish they had the hair piece used for Dr Grace Augustine available for sale on pick a brick or build a mini figure. In my opinion, works better for 2012 Black Widow than the piece we have. Wish it would pop up again.

I'd like to see Peter Parker's actual friends like the ones you listed as well as Harry Osborn, Liz Allan, etc. We've never gotten a minifigure of 616 Gwen Stacy (the Daily Bugle minifig is just a generic blonde character they named Gwen last minute) and we haven't had a proper MJ in forever.

Well, I mean Miles and Gwen are basically the main characters of these films, ofcourse they're gonna be included. And thank God for that, we've waited years to finally get a set for these movies, these are some long overdue variants. I just kinda hope Gwen will be unmasked, or alternatively have some printing on the hood.

And don’t forget that VERY graphic death scene (iykyk). It‘s played for laughs of course, but gruesome nonetheless Funny how we keep circling back to this discussion. It’s simple, TLG are a toy company with a family-friendly reputation, so they won’t touch anything rated R, M, or TV-MA (and before anyone brings up Echo, that was an accident). They will not risk their reputation and brand image just to make a quick buck with tie-in products to a successful R-rated film.

Take Baldur's gate 3 for example, it's a game I've fallen in love with but I can fully understand Lego not wanting to touch, I can respect it. As much as I'd find sets based of BG3 or Skyrim(though Skyrim is barely an 18, it's wasn't before special edition) or the Fallout show or the Witcher or House of dragon (and so on), it's a line I don't really want them to cross. Despite wasting more set slots strange display pieces, Lego is not an adult product. It's for everyone*, kids are main audience for some (most) sets, adults for others but really it's all universal. For deadpool in particular his films would be quite low down on the list of untouched properties I'd like TLG to cover. I mean I guess having the og set with Wade in means I'm less desperate for him. But he's not one of my favourite characters anyway so I'm not desperate for them to remake him. 14 hours ago, Lego Nostalgia said: Words are just Words, Ain't that deep bro Word are the deepest thing that exist.
