Shiva Posted May 14, 2024 Posted May 14, 2024 Brachiosaurus and moveable legs? Is it possible? without it looking worse? Maybe the backlegs movable, maybe.. Front movable? I think, pass.
Lion King Posted May 14, 2024 Posted May 14, 2024 I understand Brachiosaurus looks fantastic in its own way but i do wish that it has moveable legs so it could stand up on its hind legs and snag some leaves from tall tree. I do agree with Axol that they could revisit that specifies and redo some molds in future but not right away - Brachiosaurus molds are still in production. Same way for Stegosaurus’s immovable tail, it could e revisited and redone in future.
FinlayTheFaithful Posted May 14, 2024 Posted May 14, 2024 I know we go on about the Atrociraptors a lot of the time, but I legit have to bring up their appearances in the new Chaos Theory cabin attack scene that got uploaded to YouTube. Is it me or do they look a little different in some moments? (You do have to pay really good attention to them tho)

I have heard some people say apparently they can camouflage and turn green but im not sure where that information is coming from, if its based from the footage we have i think its just the lighting. But the Atrociraptors look bloody awesome! Also maybe one of the reasons beside money saving for the Stegosaurus' immobile tail is that TLG is trying to avoid kids hurting themselves? I know its a soft plastic and the spikes dont pose too much of a threat but yeah, im not sure Oh and also on the Lego official instagram they show pictures by 'Glowingbrickette' of the new sets, they look really nice!

Something like that. I swear when the taser goes off in Tiger's face, I can see a little bit of green, but that might actually be just the lighting. Guess we'll have to wait for the show to release to see if the whole camouflage theory is true
Bobdapeach Posted May 19, 2024 Posted May 19, 2024 If anyone is interested, swift rocks on YT has these sets and did a review. I’m not a fan of that person tho, her review is her “meh” and you can tell she’s not really fan and all she says is “in my opinion” every 6 seconds, but if you wanna get a better look at the sets it’s worth a look (maybe watch it on mute 👀)

Time Dragon Posted May 20, 2024 Posted May 20, 2024 (edited) It looks like the allosaurus with its jaw closed had a rather derpy overbite problem from some angles. It looks like the stego's head is immoveable. Edited May 20, 2024 by Time Dragon Remove dead space
mantax Posted May 20, 2024 Posted May 20, 2024 There's also a speed build of the Allosaurus set from All New Bricks on YT, as well as a designer's note for this set on brickset too. From that it's really nice seeing opening the box with only paper bags inside. From the set I especially like how that opening cage function works, it just feels so satysfying when both the sides hit the ground. This set just feels like a great playset overall, actually both of the chaos theory sets are that. I'm not that turn of from the limited posability of the stego, since I don't really pose my dinosaurs that much, but I absolutelly hate that the claws are not painted on both of the dinosaurs. This are literally the first big dinos to not have that. But I still think that I'd get both of these sets either way, since the builds are great, and I've really enjoed the first episode of the show.
AxolotlPlays Posted May 20, 2024 Posted May 20, 2024 Agreed, since watching that review i have gained a lot of appreciation for that truck build, i think it is very cool for what it is, but the lower jaw on Allo, missed claw painting (for big dinos Brachio was the only other one so i guess that isnt too bad but still its starting to head in a bad direction), and limited articulation in newer releases are starting to make these sets feel very cheap and incomplete in a way. I just feel like these sets could be drastically improved if Lego just put in that extra bit of effort to make the main selling point of these sets better. Im not 100% sure how it works, but if they had a choice for the wave overall to choose between having the Stego get more pieces or something like the drone/quad sidebuilds, i would rather the Stego be improved, but again, im not sure if it works like that. Also, i think that love heart on the tree build is C + O, for Claire and Owen perhaps?
Lion King Posted May 20, 2024 Posted May 20, 2024 It’s nice to see reviews before deciding to buy sets! I never thought some builds re that interesting like the cage
FinlayTheFaithful Posted May 21, 2024 Posted May 21, 2024 (edited) I'm torn between just getting the Stego set or just waiting until next year in hopes that more of these "Dinosaur Mission" sets will be released Edited May 21, 2024 by FinlayTheFaithful

I only chase after dinosaur figures for my animal kingdom collection. Both sets do look great - the vehicles, the minifigures, the color schemes, etc, but they don’t scream for me to buy them. Only dinosaurs roar/bellow for me to buy them!

Time Dragon Posted May 24, 2024 Posted May 24, 2024 It looks like the allosaurus's neck printing is, or at least can be noticeably off color with the body's color as seen in Taigo Catarino video reviewing the new sets. Did you know you can preorder them on Amazon.
FinlayTheFaithful Posted May 24, 2024 Posted May 24, 2024 Given how Chaos Theory clips have started to pop up on Youtube, anyone have any ideas as to what they could bring us next year?

I would personally expect that there could be something for the themes 10th anniversary. It would either be a full wave of sets from the first JW movie, or just one usc set for it. I could see that wave include: $20 Pteranodon helicopter attack - pteranodon, Masrani, Acu trooper. the helicopter will have a turret on the side $40 Mobile vet unit velociraptor chase - Charlie, Claire, Zach, Gray. It will be just the vehicle, but this time more size accurate. $60 Pteranodon and Dimorphodon mayhem - Pteranodon, 2 Dimorphodons, Hamada, Zara, Acu trooper - it will include the 6 wheeled acu vehicle and a small shop. $80 velociraptor pen - Delta , Echo, Owen, Barry, Crane operator. It will include the raptor pen with a small crane on the wall and an opening gate function. $150 Indominus Rex final battle - Blue, Indominus Rex, the 4 main characters with exclusive outfits, Vic Hoskins, Dr Wu and a Mercenary. It includes the main building that would have some details in the interior, with two smaller buildings on each side. I don't really think that there could be sets for the newest movie, since it is said to release next year, and I don't expect that it would release these early, it's just too little time for this type of film. Also the designers would need to start to work on the sets right now, and I don't think that there is even any material for that. There is also the dinosaur missions thing, so they could be more sets with that in the name. That could be for more Chaos theory sets, but I personally wouldn't have wanted that. The 2 sets that we got are both great sets in my opinion, and they give us the 5 main characters. I could see there being sets based on Camp Cretaceous with that in the name. That could give us Adult Bumpy, Scorpius Rex, and maybe even a spinosaurus, which would be great.

I'm kind of hoping for some more "Dinosaur Missions" sets myself since they could bring another new dinosaur and more Atrociraptor recolors since Spoiler they can apparently camouflage now

By 10th anniversary I don't expect to be this big branding for it like in Ninjago or Star wars. I think of something like Marvel, with them making a couple Guardians of the galaxy sets when that movie is now 10 years old. Or like with Minecraft with the main sets not really being special, but there is one 18+ set. With Chaos Theory they basically got all the most important stuff. I haven't watched the show yet, but from what I saw there isn't that much other dinosaurus to make the sets with. And we are said to get 9 sets next year, so that just feels too much for that.
AxolotlPlays Posted May 26, 2024 Posted May 26, 2024 (edited) Not Lego related but i have to know, is anyone else bothered by that Atrociraptor trainer lady? Like her design just looks horrible, if they were trying to make her look eerie and unsettling they went above and beyond, because i just cannot stand looking at her lol 🤣 Like usually these sorta things dont bother me too much, but for some reason that character just makes me feel disgusted, i just hate that character haha Edited May 26, 2024 by AxolotlPlays

I’d expect 6 sets based on the new movie, another skull/brick-built dino, plus two others (JP, JW, or CT)

Maybe if there wouldn´t be a new movie, then I could see some sets happening, though more like one or two sets but not a full wave. But with the new Movie in the cinemas most of the Sets will be about that one. We had 7 Sets for Jurassic World in 2015, 7 for Fallen Kingdom (+1 Polybag) in 2018 and 2022 for Fallen Kindom we had 10 (+one Polyback and the Jurassic Park T-Rex-Breakout). The other years we got 4 or 5 Sets (or none at all between the first and the second movie). So my guess for next year stands with 7 Sets fpr the new Movie (and likely one Polyback), one Fossil and one Chaos Theory Set.
