Btw, D2C, Direct-to-comsumer, what does that actually mean for the set? That its been requested by consumers or it isnt normally retailed outside of Lego themselves? Im a little confused haha

Ohhhh! I don’t expect pics for a while since we are still wait in for the Jan 25 sets, but I’m very keen on this one! Unless it really gets my engine going, I’ll probably wait for a price drop (probably will be $300 minimum in my country). Unless I don’t like how it looks then I’ll skip it, but I’m sure I will

 

also this would mean, at minimum, three waves of JP releases next year, right? Jan 2025, March 2025, and June 2025 for the movie. That’s the most waves we’ve had in a year for JP, right? 
 

with rumours claiming there will be iirc 10-12 sets this year, we might even get a fourth Sept 2025 wave? But that’s getting ahead of myself, lol

D2C just means it’s  a Lego exclusive, and only available at Lego in store and online, and not available at standard retailers. It’s a bit confusing because my country sells some sets that are listed as D2C at various other outlets, not just Lego.

Historically it's meant that it's exclusive to LEGO for at least three months, and then available at just one or a small selection of retail partners. They keep changing it though, so now it's just generally a halo/large/expensive product.

Indeed! Im quite excited too, should hopefully be well detailed! Wonder if it'll be the same size as that other big D2C Jurassic Park T.rex, but just skeleton-ified haha 🤣 yeah.. im assuming that $250 is USD so it converts to about $400 AUD for me 😬 but thats alright, looks like only that one set in March so its good to split them up throughout the year! And you would be correct, i think it'll be beneficial for this wave, keeps more interest as not to keep people waiting for one wave a year! Not sure about the september wave lol, but only time will tell!

Was always hoping we would get a big D2C for Jurrasic Park, but surely not a T-Rex Skeleton. Wondering if that will really be just the skeleton, since I am not sure if that one would sell that well at that price point, or if there will be something else included. Eitherway I was rather hoping for a Visitor Center as D2C.

Same here, but if Lego aren't going to do it themselves, they should remove the restrictions on IDEAS that prevents people from creating licensed sets, like the visitor centre from way back.

I wouldn´t say they won´t do it themselves. IMO it is still the most iconic location of the whole franchise. Maybe they thought it would be to soon after the playset Eitherway if the theme keeps staying around sooner or later we should get it, unless the other UCS sets don´t sell and they decide to only do playsets.

76969 $45 Dinosaur Fossils: Triceratops Skull

These sets are cool, i notice that for January wave 2024 and now January wave 2025 they have a set for the younger audience and a set for the adult audience.

Personally not a big fan of that T rex lol, not sure what it is about it, but I did like the Baby Bumpy from this year haha.

The Triceratops skull looks awesome! Really love the colours and details! The workbench is cool as well, im not sure who that Minifig is, if anyone at all but i guess it might be that girl from season 2 of Chaos Theory? 

Anyways, what do you guys think?

Yeah, kind of what I expected. Nothing particularly exciting. The builds are good enough.

I wish there was another regular Chaos Theory set with minifigures—the bigger wave will be dedicated to the new movie, and it'd have been cool to get something for the new season of Chaos Theory.

I agree, bit of a shame, i was hoping one of these two sets would've been like that, with the other Atrociraptors or something, but it is what it is, im looking forward to the sets later on in the year!

ProC has some more pics of these and the spiderman sets, not sure where he got them from but its cool to see the back boxart of these sets! Also cool it seems that baby T.rex has an feature where you can press the top of the head and the jaw will close, just like how the baby bumpy could swing its tail by moving the head, or vice versa lol

We got set photos of the bar in rebirth. It seems to be framed by a megalodon jaw. I really hope this doesn't mean the aquatic creature is going to be a megalodon, as we most likely then will not get a Lego mosasaurs. https://youtu.be/VIyqiLAkLq0?si=3hibo_jUcQ-v93zJ

Well, the set reveals are aren´t really surprising, especially in the part that there are no dinosaurs included. Probably will skip both Sets, although have to say the minifigure torso is good.

What bothers me most with the skull is the eyes. I mean given where they are I see why they had to make them that way instead of having holes for it, but still it just doesn´t look good to me.

I like the Trike fossil set! I did like the Rex fossil too, but seeing the Trike with a better display (the mini dig side build instead of green foliage) and a minifig looks like an upgrade to me!

the little eatie set is cute, but can’t say I care for it much. I might pick it up, I might not. Little eatie doesn’t have the same appear as Bumpy (angel/rebel would’ve been better IMO), but it’s defs cute so can’t complain,

 loving their creative liberties with these sets tho! It keeps the theme alive when there’s no new media to coincide with, a bit shocked none of these are based off CT S2 tho

In some way I'm slightly bothered that we didn't get to see the baby Stegosaurus and Pteranodon integrated in a JW set already in a similar fashion as last year's 76963, which was essentialy a battle pack for all our beloved babies

Thought it would be fitting to have another such including the new juveniles for this year since they're also continuing the trend of chunky buildable Bumpy/Rex and fossil head sets

Sure they will most likely appear in the summer wave, but I sure as heck would've loved to see them in their appropriate colour patterns already because I'm confident they'll look amazing once they are. - no hate towards the two sets whatsoever though, they're both nice-looking especially the skull imo
