there’s rumours of spino returning for jw 4 which means next year we might get a new spino fig FINALLY

Please hold your horse - it’s still rumor for the movie. It’s not  neccesary to expect Spinosaur in Lego form…YET, not FINALLY.

I have no interest in buying entire sets but only dinosaur figures themselves.

I found and bought both Stegosaurus and Allosaurus off eBay. Can’t wait to add them to my animal kingdom and to put them in my city so they could terrorize citizens lol.

Lion King, for me, it been cheaper to buy the sets, the dinos I want, are in..

Bricklink, not been an option, sadly.

Those dinosaurs on eBay are cheaper than the whole sets.  Plus what would you do with the rest of pieces and if you only want dinosaurs in them and buy them? Eh, no thanks - I’m not interred in vehicles, builds or minifigures.

Yeah it takes a while before BrickLick finally upload new parts into its system. PAB is not an option for licensed themes like Jurasic World.

Some of the minifigs are interesting too.

+ the other pieces? should be something useful for other builds.

+ counting in the freight to Sweden.

I guess it depedns on a lot of things which option is better. If you are just building Sets and are collecting certain things, like CMFs, Animals and Dinosaurs for instance - but you are not building Mocs, then buying just the Dinos is very likely the best choice. If you are creating Mocs, it might depend on what kind of mocs you build. If you are building a Jurassic Park or an own Lego City for instance, Sets would be the way to go - if you build more Historic stuff or Nature you might find many of the parts included not very usefull.

Then, as mentioned above points like shipping might also play a role, if you life in the USA for instance it will be much easier to get what you want than in countrys with a smaller number of offers avaiable.

Exactly, I only collect animals (fantasy, extant, sci-fi, and prehistoric). I am not very good at MOCing and I try to limit myself from buying bunch of sets as there is not much space avaaible. The builds / vehicles /minifugres in the two new JW sets don’t interest me, to be honest.

Allosaurus and Stegosaurus arrived here today, woohoo!

I took a look at Stegosaurus figure - I don’t think there will be a problem with reusing Ankylosaurus’s lower body in order to make Stego’s tail swining. I mean, I don’t think plates will prevent the tail from tailing  or something, do they? I like that Stegosaurus has its mouth opened, not like Ankylosaurus tho. It’s shame that there are no studs on Stegosaurus’ back so minifigures could sit there! But I get that there is not much space for plates. I like Stegosaurus’ color scheme.

Allosaurus looks very cool with a new head (and tht jaw too)! I can’t wait to compare it with T-Rex’s size. I’m not sure about I-Rex arms? I love color scheme!

maybe Lego won’t re-make Stegosaurus mold until after, uh, 5-10 years. Anyways, I am hoping for us to get Para, Pachy, Nauro, Spino, Mosa, Sino, and Dimetri next year but I need to keep my hopes low.

Ok, i quote myself becuase I think I’m taking back what I said about the Stegosaurus. I think I see why they don’t reuse Ankylosaurus’s lower body part. Since Ankylosaurus ‘ head is hollowed, Stegosaurus’ is not hollowed. That makes me realize - Stego’s head is smaller than Ankylo’s, wondering if it’s hollowed, maybe it could be broken easily?

I got an oppounrity to compare Allosaurus (Ally) with T-rex (Rexy) based on size, I realize that Ally is little bigger than Rex because. Of Ally’s head+ neck part. I do agree with most of EB users here tht Ally should have a new mid-sized body rather than reusing I-Rex body. I’m still unsure about reusing I-rex arms for Ally…. Or maybe Ally should have new mid-sized legs while keeping I-rex body.

Yes, sounds interesting. Definitely opportunities for new dinos, but I would like to see some 10th anniversary sets for jurrasic world aswell.

The new film is officially called Jurassic World Rebirth :sweet: They also unveiled two pictures, no dinos though  :snicker:

Since the plot focuses on them

Spoiler

getting some kind of drug from 3 different dinosaurs across land, sea and air,

we could expect the return of the Quetzal and a new Mosa mold. As for land dinosaurs, getting your typical Rexes and Raptors are the safest bet since it won't be a JP movie without them. It would still be interesting to see how they could handle the amount of sets tho, I'm thinking 5 movie sets, 2 Chaos Theory Dino Mission sets, 1 buildable skull and 1 Jurassic World 10th Anniversary set

One thing that worries me is that the film is rumoured to have a paleo - accurate depiction of the spino. Sure, I won't mind getting that in Lego form but id much rather get the JP 3 version first, and I know a lot of other people would aswell.

Sadly, there was no JPIII set for 20th anniversary three years ago! But I do agree with you on the JPIII version of Spinosaurus. However, with rumors that Spino might up in JWR movie then we might get Spino in Lego form first. I think Gina’s body is perfect for Spino.

Aside from Gareth Edwards and the cast literally everything about this movie is a giant red flag to me so let's just hope that between the sets for this film and the 10th anniversary of Jurassic World (which I highly doubt will go ignored) LEGO will at least give us some decent sets to smile through the pain.

I’mnot very sure why someo fo us keeep talking about 10th annivesary of Jurassic World (no maturer if it’s movie or Lego theme)? I just can’t eee them to happen, especially when it’s merely 10 years. I guess one set wil do fine for 10th anniesary…

Several reasons:
- Jurassic World Rebirth is one of the most aggressively rushed Hollywood productions in recent history. It wouldn't be at all surprising if LEGO got concept art or other material to base sets on way too late to make a full wave.
- Kids love Owen and Claire, which LEGO recognised and acknowledged by making made-up sets with them in the off-years between movies and even included them in the Camp Cretaceous sets. While the brand new cast of Rebirth would be more of a gamble these characters are pretty much guaranteed to catch kids' attention.
- Despite not being that old Jurassic World is a beloved movie that still has a lot of untapped potential with the Mosasaurus, Apatosaurus, Dimorphodon and much requested remakes of the Raptor Squad.

Not capitalizing on this anniversary would be a big mistake. Especially as the one factor that made sure the JP30 wave flopped doesn't apply here.

Wait, it flopped? Is that based on anecdotal evidence or do you have info to back it up? And what factor would that be? Not having Claire and Owen?

I am actually not that sure if kids care that much about the characters, since I would guess they care way more about the dinosaurs than about them.

Also, not sure what your claim that JP flopped is based on? Discounts so far are not different from other waves, so is there any source for that?
