Indeed haha, im havent heard if the 'colossal' aquatic species they require is the mosasaurus, but i wouldnt be surprised. And yes, if they didnt include the main species i would be very confused 🤣

Ah, well I knew about the three animals they would search for some kind of medicine, but didn´t know the Mosasaur was actually leaked and not just a rumour. Aside from that, it is kinda an obvious choice, as it IMO is an important part of the franchise. So would have been one of my guesses anyways, with the other two beeing the T-Rex and maybe Spinosaurus? I just hope they use real dinos and not some clones again. I would kinda take T-Rex and Mosasaurus as granted, the third one seems likely to me, but there are some other options that also seem plausible, like Raptor ( I kinda hope they don´t use them though, but surely they will also be in the film anyways) or Pteranodon (that would make one air, water and terrestrial animal). Herbivores kinda seem unlikely since most of them are probably rather slow and easy to spot like brachiosaurus, though if it is one of them I would guess it will be a triceratops.
Lion King Posted October 9, 2024 Posted October 9, 2024 Iwould be happy to get Mosasaurus in Lego form but i won’t be surprised to see how small it would be. Just like orca’s size (go see orca in City theme).

The synopsis floating around specifically says they need DNA samples from “the three most colossal creatures across land, sea and air” – so velociraptor and triceratops are not going to be on the characters’ list, and T. rex and Spinosaurus are unlikely to both be on it unless the writers want to imply the Mosasaur met a tragic end and go with a more modernly recognizable Spino that’s semi aquatic. Realistically though, we’re looking at Mosasaur, Quetzalcoatlus (which lego conveniently already has the molds for), and a theropod like Giganotosaurus or T.rex, or the rumored Spinosaurus. Which isn’t to say that the other classics won’t appear, they just won’t be part of the characters’ main goal.

Well, interesting, but given the discription, I would actually rule out all the dinosaurs you mentioned for the land, and would say it has to be something like a Titanosaurus instead. Something I actually didn´t expect as mentioned above, because carnivores surely grant you more action, but in the end, the action doesn´t need to come form one of the big three in this case but could aswell just come from predators showing up when they are on their task to get the DNA sample from the Titanosaurus. 1 hour ago, FinlayTheFaithful said: Pretty sure they'll find a way to sneak Velocirator in the film anyway since you just can't have a Jurassic film without them Yeah as I said above, there is no way that won´t be included and I think the T-Rex is granted too.
Bobdapeach Posted October 9, 2024 Posted October 9, 2024 Only dinosaur we have confirmed for the new film so far is the Parasaurolphus. We got a leak on set which included a prop head for it. I’d also say the T. Rex and V’Raptors would appear since they’re essentially the franchise mascots, but nothing confirmed so far As for the “colossal” stuff, I agree that the sea and sky ones will be the Mosa and Quetz, and the land will be Rex, Giga, Spino, or Titansaur, but we literally have no confirmation on that other than fan speculation. The plot also says the Dino’s have moved closer to the equator since most of the earth has become insufficient for them to survive. We know the Dinosaurs already have accelerated growth hormones, that combined with them moving closer to the equator could have an effect on their DNA and cause some individuals to grow “colossal” and these are the creatures they need, because the plot also mentions they need to collect DNA to save human kind or something, and these Dino’s that have the select growth DNA is what they need. Could end up being colossal Stegosaurus, and the sea might be a Plesi That’s just speculation on my point, but have seen a lot of people say Mosa is !!CONFIRMED!! When it’s not

And it wouldn`t need that much specialized parts.

I mean, obviously Titanosaurus is the actual biggest known land dinosaur, but it’s never actually been brought back to life in the Jurassic franchise as far as I’m aware. Whereas those three large carnivores have been. Admittedly, the writers would be foolish not to make sure to introduce some new dinos, but given how ‘new’ dinosaurs come to be in-universe I can’t really see how Titanosaur would be explained (bringing back the world’s largest sauropod isn’t particularly cost effective when it doesn’t have any military applications, the theme park is defunct, and it would cost exponentially more than the already existing brachiosaurus to keep alive).

They also had new Dinosaurs in the later Jurassic World films and we never got a complete list of what Dinosaurus were cloned and which were not, so it isn´t really like you could rule out that they bring a new dinosaur. Eitherway I guess the Dreadnoughtus works good aswell. It isn´t really like Mosasaurus is the biggest aquatic dinosaur either, and the franchise isn´t really true to nature anyways.

Sometimes there are holes in stories. Like where did Giganotosaurus come from when it was not seen in Fallen Kingdom. Or Therizinosaurus. It’s just sudden appearance of new dinosaur in the las test movie.

Both were cloned by Biosyn - and were actually both used to create the Indominus Rex, though, so there DNA was there, they just never cloned dinosaurs with it. And well that is the point mentioned above, we don´t know what else they all have cloned, as the new film makers can just decided that like they want.

Well most of Dominions new random species can be explained by the way the world turned from Fallen Kingdom, with the Lockwood manor event shipping out a handful of dinosaurs accross the world, and later the rest escaping into California, but then the main thing that happened was because of that, people had access to dinosaur DNA and started experimenting with genetic modification etc, and like we saw with Biosyn, they created new species for 'pharmaceutical' purposes, that i believe they created the Giga, Theri, Pyro, Dread, Iguana etc. So i think its perfectly rational to assume people and companies (even before Fallen Kingdom with Mantah Corp) accross the world started to experiment with genetic power and ressurect other species so the filmwriters can shoehorn in any species they like really lol. Which brings me to my next point that other things get confusing. Or example, the introduction of Nasutoceratops in BABR, i always thought it was just my explanation i just said before, but in Chaos Theory i believe it changed the lore and bit saying they were on Nublar but im not too sure on that one. Camp Cretaceous also dabbled with this including the Monolophosaurus and Ouranosaurus which hadnt been mentioned before. If it was a Proceratosaurus that'd make more sense because it was mentioned on a DNA capsule in the first JP. And i cant remember exaxtly, and i dont believe it is Canon but Ouranosaurus was a plot point in JWE1. But anyways, i just mean that any species can be added regardless of its prior existance/absense.
AxolotlPlays Posted October 16, 2024 Posted October 16, 2024 I saw a new set for Harry Potter diagon alley which is in microscale but has a full street of houses and stuff, i think that same build type could work fantastic for Jurassic World mainstreet, with the innovation centre at the back and all the shops coming down, perhaps the spinosaurus skeleton as well could be cool
FinlayTheFaithful Posted October 18, 2024 Posted October 18, 2024 Welp, Season 2 of Chaos Theory just dropped. Haven't seen much outside of a few clips but I feel like we still have some pretty decent candidates for what dinos we could expect in January Spoiler The leucistic Baryonyx being one of them since it all it needs is a lack of eye printing along with the named Gallimimus (Please Lego, It's almost been 5 years since we saw that one)

I might remember Wong but there is a five-year period on animal molds. If animal molds are not used within five years, they would be destroyed. For example, we haven’t seen a maned lion since 2021, its mold might disappear after 2026 (unless desginers want to use that lion before it reaches expiration). Carnotarusus was introduced in 2018 or 2019, right? So its mold has been reused later, in 2021. So far, we haven’t see Gallimimus o Ankylosaurus since 2020.

Yeah, agreed there, that we would probably get a bumpy sooner or later - though probably not this year, as I would expect more sets for the new movie instead - and I would actually hope for an ankylosaurus from this source rather than a bumpy - that one IMO has an awefull colour sheme. I would rather get one similar to the old ankylosaurus. Best would be to get the same again honestly, but that will surely not happen. Edited October 20, 2024 by Black Falcon
