I knew the wands would be in an accessory bag! Creating 6 new moulded pieces would have been madness, and the pieces that come in accessory bags technically only require one mould  Unless I’m overlooking something, HP is thus the first licensed theme to get two of these in parallel, the other being the spell effects (which I still hope show up in other colours). If they make a set depicting the climax of OotP, they could even include both of them in the same set! :excited:

Still curious why they didn‘t introduce the Elder Wand here. Granted, having it in multiple colours wouldn‘t make much sense, but it‘s more important and visually distinctive than all of the other wands and thus worthy of a unique design. Or they could create a unique moulded piece just for that in the future :shrug_oh_well:

The Elder Wand seems like it would be a good selling point for yet another Dumbledore if they ever get around to an HP CMF 3. Cursed hand version. Set includes the red-handed Harry, too, post Umbridge. If they ever get around to printing the hands, then he could have a "must not tell lies" version. They could also dual mould the snake head one for a walking stick for Lucius...

Wouldn´t make sense to have the Elder wand sitting around on Display in Olivanders Shop IMO.

Are there any non-video reviews yet? I don’t mind watching videos as well but it’s nice to see lots of photos of the sets and reading a reviewers thoughts

Brickset has a review of the boat.

And maybe a new book or magazine? A new large castle expansion and some smaller rooms is in my opinion just the right amount, so I am glad there won't be that much more this year xD

I think the old big troll club will dissapear from Bricklink in a short period of time after the Great halls release. The troll really needs it. I just ordered mine :)

No, there’s also a GWP set, but we don’t know yet if it’s tied to the Burrow or not :shrug_oh_well:

Hoping that it is a modular classroom similar to the Potions Classroom set but just a little simpler and less figures so that is falls within the GWP requirements.

I hope that GWP will not be a part of Hogwarts, that connects to it. Would love to collect whole Hogwarts Castle, but I don't want to spent fortune for GWP, or buy the D2C for the whole price from Lego store. :(

I doubt this year’s gwp will directly tie in to the D2C like last year’s did. The only logical add on to the Burrow I can think of that would be the right size would be the Weasley’s flying Ford Anglia, and that was already released as it’s own set in March.

My personal hope is that whatever the gwp is it comes with some more collectible portraits. So far with the March sets we’ve got 4 in total, and the Great Hall and Potions Class in June will only add 7 between them. This year’s advent calendar includes 2 as well, but ultimately that only adds up to 13 portraits in total if you get all the sets that include them - and there are 14 to collect! Back in 2021 when Lego did the Chocolate Frog Cards the gwp was the Gryffindor boys dorm module with a built in 16x16 plate that could act as a display for all the cards, as well as 4 cards included in the gwp itself. It would be nice to get something in a similar vein for the collectible portraits (especially since they skimped out on putting one in the polybag this time around).

I think they‘ll be included in next year‘s sets as well, just like the chocolate frog cards continued for an additional year  The grand staircase tower for instance just asks for it!

Oh definitely! But I had a hard enough time collecting all the frog cards and there are considerably fewer portraits distributed among sets even in this first year. Not including one in the poly bag is already irksome, but not having any in the gwp will make collecting them all even more of a pain since doubles are guaranteed.

How far do you think Lego can go with the new Diagon Alley system sets, so far we have had two sets with two locations/shops. What’s going to be next?

I’m wondering about that as well. A lot of the DA/KA shops aren’t well-known enough to carry their own set, I’m afraid. Gringotts, Flourish & Blotts, and Borgin & Burkes seem like the best candidates to me, which could each be accompanied by a lesser-known shop :shrug_oh_well:

We're crying out for a Leaky Cauldron set, but that's more likely to be a D2C. Borgin & Burkes / Knockturn Alley would seem the most likely contender, since it's one of the few locations from the old theme not yet seen since the 2018 reboot.

Also Quality Quidditch Supplies for sure. They can't resist Quidditch content, and it's cheaper and more playable than the bookstore, regardless of scene length. Daily Prophet - it would give them a chance to do an interior. Maybe they'd even include Scribbulus and Fortescue's again.

Plus some of the ones that aren't as well known and likely to be seen as too pricey, relatively speaking, in a D2C scale, might be deemed a lot more affordable / viable in the new scale where you'd have far less content inside. Then again, they didn't exactly feel pressed to include a lot of creatures in the Menagerie in the Gringotts set with a massive budget, so who knows if that's actually a consideration.

I suspect there might be an Easter egg in this year’s Madam Malkin’s and Ollivander’s set – it’s got a signpost with a sign for Gringotts pointing to the left (backwards in most western writing systems) and signs for Flourish & Blott’s and Quality Quidditch Supplies pointing to the right (aka forward). We got the Gringotts D2C last year so might this be a hint at getting the other two next year?

I don't know how much we can read in LEGO sets as hints for future sets (we had a Leaky Cauldron sign in 2021, but no LC untill now )... in any case, I think Flourish & Blott's (with Lockhart remake) and Quality Quidditch Supplies could be a logical guess.

This could also simply be a reference to the DA D2C set, which still hasn’t reached its EoL yet :shrug_oh_well:

I’m surprised we haven’t had a new version since 2021 yet, as the hairpiece introduced in the BTS set would be perfect for him!

Soooo, is it only Burrow D2C set left for official reveal this year?

Hopefully we see it int he near future. That's really the only HP set I'm hyped for this year. I'm getting out of the system scale sets - just can't keep up with all of the new releases, especially with this new modular castle. D2Cs only from here on out.

I can't imagine it changing much for the survey leaks that came out last year. The Zelda tree in its young link form is nearly identical, the sorting hat was identical, Barah Dur seems nearly the same, Snow Whites house had some major reworking of colours but the build is the same really.

The previous version of the Burrow is very good though so I think Its selling point will probably be the inclusion of all the Weasleys as there was a lot of red headed temporary figures in the leaked image. Will that be enough I'm not sure, some side builds like the shed or the wedding tent might make it feel more complete but not sure they will happen. Its competing with the new Zelda set for my cash and I've built a bigger version of the burrow already so Zelda is winning.
