BrickMatit Posted August 19, 2024 Posted August 19, 2024 And for Borgin & Burkes: Floo Network - as stated on Stone Wars and on LEGO shop page - the threshold is 130€ of Harry Potter products, while for Draco in the Forbidden Forest is 40€.
Legoman123 Posted August 19, 2024 Posted August 19, 2024 Do we not have a new forum for 2025 sets? I only ask because I've seen the line up of sets and the fact we are getting Malfoy Manor priced at that blows my mind to be honest. I would like to see the Luvgood house at some point though as a normal retail set and I'd like to see some bigger sets that fit into the interior of Hogwarts based around the common rooms and dorms so that they can all link. For me the Hufflepuff common room simply wasn't big enough and should have had a dorm to join onto it, it needed to be double the size imo. I'd have no qualms about lego slowly creating a Hogwarts over a 6/7 year period rather than resetting every 3 years if it meant we'd get bigger and better interiors. I'm also hoping for more D2C style sets like the Burrow as I think something like 12 Grimmauld Place can only be done justice at a higher price point to be honest.
Accio Lego Posted August 20, 2024 Posted August 20, 2024 The Weasley Clock gwp looks nice, with loads of details for a freebie. The configuration looks similar to the classic themes collectible magnets with stands that are currently available in the Insiders reward center. It wouldn’t surprise me if this was also a metal magnet with an included base as well.
strangely Posted August 20, 2024 Posted August 20, 2024 Looking at the new leaked Burrow photos, I am heavily relieved that Molly finally has a unique face print. I don't like Percys face/hair combo. I love the build of the Burrow, I definitely feel like I'm going to get this after seeing all the details up close.
Clone OPatra Posted August 20, 2024 Author Posted August 20, 2024 It's definitely a Burrow of all time. I'm also glad they've done justice to Molly. It looks great from the outside, as expected. Lots of the interior detail is good too. My only main negative is the lack of space on the ground floor. So much is taken up with the floo network fireplace that there doesn't appear to be any living room and barely any kitchen. It's just dining room. The floo network thing is fun and all, but I'm not sure it's worth sacrificing so much. That film picture chosen for the back of the box is also so incongruous, but that has no bearing on the actual set.
Coryo Posted August 20, 2024 Posted August 20, 2024 I'm glad I have the Burrow from a couple of years ago, I don't think the new one really warrants such a massive increase in price. Hopefully there'll be a Deathly Hallows version of Bill at some point down the line. It's minor, but the soap dispenser design is lowkey genius

It’s a cool minifig, but the scarred version is what we see on-screen The set looks even better in the clearer pictures! So many cool details. So much for that “everything’s printed” nonsense though. I knew that was bogus
Jaromir Posted August 20, 2024 Posted August 20, 2024 Why they didn't give to Percy hair piece that was used for him in book?

It's minor, but the soap dispenser design is lowkey genius I think the only way the price could have been justifiable is if we got every room in the house for this price or made the downstairs area slightly bigger to be honest. Even though we have an extra two bedrooms they have made the likes of Ginnys room even smaller. I just hope Rons is big enough to sleep a couple of characters like in the begging of Goblet of Fire. Also is there an area with the 'magic' knitting at all?
Accio Lego Posted August 20, 2024 Posted August 20, 2024 16 minutes ago, Jaromir said: Why they didn't give to Percy hair piece that was used for him in book? Presumably because he’s just woken up and has bed head in the scene they’re basing most of these minifigs off of. The piece they used was literally made for someone who just got out of bed, although I agree that for movie Percy especially it’s too straight. If they wanted to do something messier than the school uniform variant from the book, they could have recolored the hair for Jay from Ninjago and had something that still had the tousled look with a bit more of a curl to it. Something I haven’t seen anyone mention yet is just how good Errol looks. I was expecting the grey design from 2010 just on the newer flying mold, but they went far beyond that. It looks to be right up there with the barn owl in terms of accuracy to the real life species.
Clone OPatra Posted August 20, 2024 Author Posted August 20, 2024 1 hour ago, Legoman123 said: Also is there an area with the 'magic' knitting at all? Yes the magic knitting is there to the right of the Floo Network fireplace. 1 hour ago, Accio Lego said: If they wanted to do something messier than the school uniform variant from the book, they could have recolored the hair for Jay from Ninjago and had something that still had the tousled look with a bit more of a curl to it. That piece actually already existed in dark orange, though exclusive to BAM.
Yope Posted August 20, 2024 Posted August 20, 2024 The set looks great - although I still think the previous one was a better minifig scale version. Figures are excellent, new Molly faceprint is a vast improvement over the reused Helga Hufflepuff face and I really like the versions of Bill/Charlie which feel very book-accurate. Percy's messy hair is fine imo and I like Arthur's hat. It doesn't really feel like there are many more details than the previous set but it is a lovely looking model and if I didn't have the last one I'd be all over it. Looks like the roof of the attic section lifts off - but I think a secret ghoul (a la the silencio box in Diagon alley) would be too much to hope for... Only other thing that would have been nice is a gnome or two in the garden!

Also the Weasley-Box looks like a print. Errol looks excellent. Really accurate to the Owl that was used in that scene. Outfit off Bill is from Deathly Hallows. He wears it with jacket in most of the scenes, but we see him without jacket in a kitchen-scene in Shell Cottage: Can not find anything on the outfit of Charlie, but it looks like how I imagine him.
RODDY Posted August 20, 2024 Posted August 20, 2024 Don’t care for a bigger Burrow but I just wanted to say that Molly maybe the most underrated Harry Potter character when it comes to mini figures, she has so many cool different variants but this probably her best one so far.

This means it will also likely be $130 USD, right? Most of the times the Euro and USD thresholds are similar. I was at one point contemplating the Burrow on day 1 but the GWPs aren't worth it and I don't care for non-brick GWPs so hoping just to get the Durmstrang ship.
mark1991t Posted August 20, 2024 Posted August 20, 2024 Brick Depot has an speedbuild online with some more details. They show the 2 stickersheets aswell. Even more stickers than I anticipated.
BrickBob Studpants Posted August 20, 2024 Posted August 20, 2024 Nice to see that Bill has the scars on his alternate faceprint! Kinda weird they don‘t show it in any of the official pictures though. Maybe they felt it kinda goes against the wholesome vibe of the CoS scenes

Actually the same issue I have with the GWP, there are so many pieces going into that function, I would rather have prefered a normal fireplace, or a system with a rotating door like they used in the whomping willow Set for Lupin. Would take less space up. Also don´t like the design of the fire place in the burrow, aside from it´s size.
Shiva Posted August 20, 2024 Posted August 20, 2024 If I had enough room and cash, I would buy both this and Gringotts. Regarding the older sets 75980, had a fair amount of stickers too. Price per piece, quite close to both 75980 and especially 4840.
JS038 Posted August 20, 2024 Posted August 20, 2024 With back to Hogwarts coming up. What sets do people plan on purchasing to get the GWP? Anyone have a back log or have been waiting to buy?

And in any case I prefer looking for better prices than LEGO ones - even considering double insider point. This year I delayed on purpose the purchase of Durmstrang Ship and Aragog sets waiting for the 1st of September. So Durmstrang Ship will be my choice. I'm not sure I will, in the end, buy this collector Burrow, but in any case I'll wait untill the next year, considering I'm not interested in the Weasley Clock gift.

I was gifted the Sorting Hat & Hedwig at 4 Privet Drive. I still have Hagrid's Hut, Potions Class, Forbidden Forest: Magical Creatures, Hogwarts Castle: The Great Hall, Ollivaders & Madame Malkin's Robes, & Triwizard Tournament: The Arrival on my wishlist. I'll get the Advent Calendar elsewhere at a discount. Still trying to decide if I want to get The Burrow on release day or just go with something else from my wishlist. The rest of the 2024 sets I don't really want unless I find them at a huge discount. Even then I'll pass on the Buckbeak & Aragog sets.
