Ordered the Burrow and the Durmstrang Ship sets. Both separate so double the GWPs which will be nice. Yes, there is 2x points on select HP sets in the US. The ship qualifies but not the new Burrow. There were some other sets that don't get 2x including the newest version of the Great Hall. The plushies and some other items like the two display cases also qualify for the 2x points. There is a spot on the Back to Hogwarts page to click to get the list of what gets 2x points.

Any D2C untill now is out of scale, compared to the regular sets. Diagon Alley is as big as the entire castle, Gringott upper part is nearly tall as the Astronomy Tower and The Burrow is taller than it and Hogwarts Express is longer than an entire street. So this won't be a problem even for a D2C Privet Drive. Unless Gringott, that can be put near Diagon Alley, all the other D2Cs set are meant to be exposed on its own. 2 hours ago, Black Falcon said: I am not sure what the benefit would be from a big D2C version, compared to a 100€ Playset. Everything you would want to fit into it would fit into the Set IMO. As for what to put inside: the 2020 Privet Drive cost 80$ and was only half the house; just mirroring it, the same as The Burrow, you would have a roughly 160$ set. Give it a bit of front and rear garden, an inflated Marge and you have a 200$ set. Isn't Privet Drive iconic enough? Well, we all know it's not the best place in which Harry lived, but it's in any case his home. It's where you find Harry at the beginning of every book and most of movies (1,2,3,5,7): where he was taken by Hagrid, Dumbledore and McGonagall, where he started to receive Hogwarts letters; where Dobby first meet him, and Ron, Fred and George found him prisoner and free him; then there was aunt Marge inflating and Harry escaping from the house; Arthur and Weasley's coming and the probem with the muggle fireplace in Goblet of Fire; the Order of the Phoenix visited him in OOtP and Dumbledore in HPB; and it's where the Seven Potter Battle starting. And Petunia is who make Harry safe until DH, thanks to being Lily's sister. Not that I want it or I would buy it, but in my opinion Privet Drive is probably iconic enough to deserve a D2C treatment.

It's where the story starts, it's 'Harry's' house, the home of the cupboard under the stairs and the place where Vernon goes mad and boards everything up etc. That whole scenario is pretty famous and popular even if the house itself might be ordinary. True. My point was that the house itself is not iconic on its own, unlike the Burrow, which is recognisable even without the figures and accessories. Of course it's recognisable once you add all the things people associate with it, like the street sign, the bolted window, the owls, the letters, the room under the stairs and so on. The location is highly significant story-wise as @BrickMatit also points out and thus worthy of a larger set, but not without the added details Edited September 1, 2024 by BrickBob Studpants
Accio Lego Posted September 2, 2024 Posted September 2, 2024 For anyone still trying to decide if they want the exclusive Weasley clock gwp, it is indeed a magnet like the classic emblems available in the Insiders reward center. It comes with a base that an included flat piece of metal can slot into, so you can stick it there to display if you don’t fancy sticking it on your fridge (or if you’re like my family, and the previous homeowners thought filling the kitchen with non-magnetic stainless steel was super cool, you don’t have any available magnetic surfaces at all).

Well of course nothing is really in scale to each other, especially with the UCS stuff around. A in scale Hogwarts would be insanly expensive and huge, but nonetheless a D2C would be even more out of scale to the rest. Would people buy it anyways? Sure. But I still think there are other locations that would benefit more from a D2C threatment than the privet drive would.
MaxHeadroom Posted September 3, 2024 Posted September 3, 2024 I always forget it takes Lego weeks to ship orders. I’m ready for my Burrow now lol.
cosmic Posted September 3, 2024 Posted September 3, 2024 (edited) So I guess this is an unpopular opinion but I love this new burrow. I've seen lots of complaints about this online and I guess it's all about perspective. I didn't get this last 2 burrows, so it feels refreshing to get 1 that's not in retirement and is fresh to the market. Plus this one has the vine escalator thing, and effects for the pots and pans moving around. It feels magical and whimsical and has special effects the previous 2 did not have. As someone who doesn't have a burrow yet, this one not only feels fresh and full of detail, but exciting! I'm so excited for this set. I guess the only downside is there is no Belllatrix Included. I really hope they produce another Bellatrix sometime soon. This time with a crazy cackle face, and dress printing. It sucks we've only had 3 Bellatrix's since this theme's reboot. 1 was in a CMF series! So only 2 sets have had Bellatrix in it, and now that I think about it, it may have only been 1! Memory is failing me but whatever the case may be, it seems as though there aren't enough Bellatrix figures in this theme. Edited September 3, 2024 by cosmic
Chocolate Frog Posted September 3, 2024 Posted September 3, 2024 The Weasleys Clock is no longer appearing as a GWP with the Burrow in the UK and if you go to the actual page through Google it says ‘out of stock’. Really glad I bagged mine from the store on Sunday. If you want one I suggest you go to your local store if you can.

Two is correct, namely the 2020 Burrow and the 2023 Battle of Hogwarts Yeah, the villains have been getting the short end of the stick a bit. I get that they're more going for the whimsical aspects of the franchise, but adding a few more baddies here and there (where appropriate) wouldn't hurt At least Bellatrix is super likely to appear in the Malfoy Manor next January, hopefully with a new faceprint! Well, that or her CMF S2 print. No more Mantis please, it doesn't fit all that well.

Malfoy Manor is set to come in January, and let’s face it, Bellatrix is the main villain in the fight that happens there! (it’s also worth noting that while we’ve only gotten 3 Bellatrix minifigures since the reboot, we also got Hermione polyjuiced as Bellatrix in Gringott’s last year, so a very nice skirt print and matching torso currently exist for the character)

In my opinion it's the perfect Bellatrix minifigure

It's amazing to have the whole Weasley family. As for Bellatrix, I'm not to fussed about her not being in it. She doesn't really belong with it anyway imo. There are other sets she could come in. She has come in the second CMF, Battle of Hogwarts set, Gringotts (as Hermoine's disguise), as well as the previous Burrow. According to Brickset she also came in the first Burrow. Which means she has only appeared in 5 sets overall of which 4 sets since 2018. Interesting. I imagine that if we get a Malfoy manor she will be in that. Lol, others already mentioned the other Bellatrixes.

karrit Posted September 4, 2024 Posted September 4, 2024 I wish it were a minifig scale Diagon Alley addition but it being microscale will save me money for the other sets I want. I don't buy the microscale stuff.

The only thing I could see getting in the way of that is that the Leaky Cauldron is significantly smaller than Gringotts, and doesn’t have much of a ‘Wow’ factor without the Diagon Alley shops to be revealed when you open the portal at the back. That said, if you include a small shop like Gringotts did with the Magical Menagerie, and perhaps include the muggle road out front, maybe even with a Knight Bus side build

Pchan1983 Posted September 9, 2024 Posted September 9, 2024 Just built the new Borgin and Burkes, it's a nice little set but I wish it something could integrated to other sets more seemlessly but still a nice small set to get.
brickbride Posted September 10, 2024 Posted September 10, 2024 Halloween BAM parts have been spoilered at the usual place. They include parts for a witch (green face and hands unfortunately, but a hair/hat combo and a nice dress print) for those of you who want to populate their wizarding worlds. Also a cat to go with it.

There are 2 cats even, neither new though if I'm not mistaken. There's also a spooky pumpkin ghost and a Skeleton hoodie, close enough for populating a magical world xD.
Accio Lego Posted September 12, 2024 Posted September 12, 2024 The pumpkin ghost reminds me that I was planning on redecorating the new Great Hall since the presence of the troll in the bathroom means it should be decked out for Halloween. It’ll be easy to replace the candles since the jack-o’-lantern head cover and trans yellow minifig head are both currently available on bricks and pieces, but if anyone has recommendations for candy display builds to replace those boring salads I’d definitely appreciate it! (Looks like cauldrons full of lollipops feature heavily in the movie, does anyone know if any of the lollipop printed round tiles are currently available on B&P and under what number?)
