Draco was in Hagrid’s Hut and the polybag this year

The hut and the polybag weren't the modular castle sub-theme. Only including the owlery, boathouse, great hall and potions class that were specifically branded Hogwarts Castle: XXXX.

Looking back over the POA and the pictures of this set, it looks like it might have been a trade-off for the accuracy of the design. Looking back, the 2019 model is fairly inaccurate. The indent on the right side is far less extreme than it is in the film. Ernie is sitting in the center of the model, closer to the indent, and the set chose to put the shrunken head to his left rather than to his right and in front of him as it's placed in the film. In the 2025 model, the indent is properly proportioned to scale, which results in Ernie being pushed up against the left wall ( when looking at this model head-on). Looking at the picture from above, there's only 1 stud between Ernie and the indent where a window should be, with the indented wall onward being where the passengers are. There doesn't seem to be any actual room for the shrunken head to be put within the vehicle itself, and any other placement would be inaccurate.

All this to say that it seems that between the choices of creating a more accurate  design for the vehicle as it exists in the films or including all character elements, they chose the former.

It still doesn't make sense not to include a minifigure head of something so iconic  or as someone else said a sticker at least, regardless of room or positioning there’s always room for something that small.   I agree the 2019 version was inaccurate and I’d go as far to say this is the most accurate exterior.  But looking at the interior (At least the bottom floor) it looks awful, the bed is probably the worst version we’ve ever got.

Where would they have included it though that it would like it was hanging on the roof of the inside? Placing it beside Ernie to his right would have it outside the vehicle. They couldn't go the route of the 2011 model that had the head as a cylinder piece in front of Ernie as there is no room without moving everything back by at least a stud. Looking at pictures the of the first floor interior theres two potential problems. The first and biggest problem is that at the sleeping witches feet there seems to be a wall. If there is one separating her sleeping area from where Harry is sitting, then nothing in the front section can be pushed back. Second, if there is no wall and things can be shifted by a stud it likely wouldn't leave much room to sit Harry comfortably.  If they had done it as a sticker on the window shield (like the 2004 version) it would have been blocking the view of Ernie because the size of the window. Placing a sticker  anywhere else on the front of the vehicle would have it too far away.

There just isn't any room for the head  at the current size of the vehicle without compromising the detailing of their representation of the head.  I'm disappointed  the head isn't included since it is so iconic but  it not being included does make some sense from a design perspective. This doesn't excuse Lego as it points to how flawed the design is ( even though this is the most accurate exterior).  What realistic option was there besides creating the bus at a larger scale which would increase the price?

It’s interesting how so many people are here debating the inclusion of the shrunken head in the Knight Bus while forgetting something significant: the Knight Bus’s release has been delayed. Normally delayed releases have to do with build issues that need adjusting, but the pics of the set show no obvious candidates for something like that. What if it’s related to the shrunken head?

It could be that Lego originally included him but someone at Warner Bros. said ‘no you can’t because [insert reason here]’, so now Lego is delaying the set to edit him out. Or it could be that the designers left him out for unknown reasons but then someone higher up said ‘no, you have to include him, he’s the best part!’, and now they’re delaying the set to add a sticker or print on the windshield.

And that's how they con us into paying too high a price for that set.

As it should be though for playability. Good on them.

Or buy it at all. If I had to custom print it anyway i would have build It from spare parts.

To be honest all I really want from that set are Lockhart and the newest Snape who I haven't gotten yet. It's just that with a set this size the brain convinces itself that it's more cost effective, though not actually cheaper, to buy the whole set on sale than to BL just the desirable figures.

4 minifigures, 1 exclusive, 158 pieces, and 2 exclusive pieces makes the price point very reasonable.

Most Star wars battle pack have the same number of figures, rarely exclusive pieces, and less pieces overall and only retails for $5 less.

If this set had four non-named Hogwarts students it would be effectively a Harry Potter battlepack.

SW is absurdly expensive even by LEGO standards. The fact that their battlepacks still sell for less than HP's is kind of hilarious to me.

The last similar HP set I can recall, 75945 Expecto Patronum, also sold for EUR 5 less. That one had four figs as well (and a more attractive selection IMO), one of which was exclusive and two of which had fabric capes. Fewer pieces, and no prints, but I'd say the giant glittery exclusive moulded bonus stag more than makes up for it.

Alternatively: Polyjuice Potions Mistake. four figs including the exclusive golden Harry, printed chocolate frog cards, extra hair pieces for the boys and a printed cat head for Hermione, a really nice dual-moulded potions cup, and well over 200 pieces. Also EUR 5 less than what we get here!

I really hope the new Dursley's house will have a new Dobby face print - more cheeky and playful because that scene supposed to portray him levitating that cake.

Dobby wasn't present at 4 Privet Drive during Prisoner of Azakaban, so the Dobby in Malfoy Manor is the only one we are getting this year.

Yeah my brain playing tricks on me. For some reason i forgot it's not just another Privet Drive but that specific aunt's visit.

Either way my set will probably have Dobby in a process of throwing lots of things at her, haha.

Personally I think that's some very generous mental gymnastics to justify a price that strikes me as at least $5 USD too high.

It just doesn't pass the eyeball test. The build is a $15 set build. It's just a box and a dinky fireplace. The amount of figures and the printed pieces could push it up to $20, but they've added another $5 on top.

Battle pack pricing is skeevy anyway and they know it. Those sets crept up in price over the years, but LEGO paused them and then reintroduced them with a significant price jump.

Anyway, just my take.

I think in comparison to other sets like the Rise of Voldemort which was $20 and came with 4 exclusive minifigs and a very respectable cemetery build, the Umbridge’s Forest Encounter which was $30, and came with 5 minifigs including the new centaurs and exclusive Umbridge, and the OG Expecto Patronum set at $15 with the Stag mold (my favorite LEGO mold ever) and the at the time new Dementor, the Dueling Club doesn’t have a great price tag. But I’m still buying it because I’m a huge fan of Chamber of Secrets in general and for the new Lockhart and updated Snape which I haven’t got since I don’t collect the new castle series. And this can easily slot into my 2018 castle

Hey guys, I haven't been so active in the last few months. Can someone summarize the rumors or hard facts about the summer wave 2025?
I read so far that there will be a new Dursley's House from PoA, anything else already known?

The price of this set makes me curious about pieces or the size of the house. I wonder if we will have something to make Marge into floating ball (maybe there will be brick built variant of her body). And will they give Harry screaming super angry head?  :pir-laugh:

I think 2024's pretty much done anyway, shouldn't we have a 2025 thread by now with what we know of the January and Summer waves? Can anyone make one or does it have to be a mod?

Got to admit I've gone off Harry Potter lately, mostly because of the increasing unpleasantness of the creator, but also as the sheer amount of sets is getting a bit exhausting. I think the quality is pretty high though so that's good.

I'm really liking what I'm seeing in the list for sets next year though, great to see Marge as a new minifig! And the huge tower is sure to have more new characters and variants.

Aside from I think 2023 we have had a winter or Christmas themed set (excluding advent calenders) every year since 2019, so I hope there is another one for 2025, maybe another Yule Ball one.
