They probably wanted that torso to remain exclusive to the Diagon Alley D2C. The head looks to be on the Burrow version of Harry.

It already appeared in the accessory pack with Mr Borgin.

It's interesting though, as more than likely they will also be giving the forbidden forest polybag away again, meaning our gifts this year will be both Lucius and Draco, quite fitting.

The GWP isn't bad but it does seem a little out of place without an actual Borgin and Burkes set.

It’s entirely possible there’s one already in the works. We’ve had an increasing number of sets without Harry over the past few years, and with Malfoy Manor coming in January that puts later movies like HBP into the frame of possibility next summer. This gwp definitely puts anyone designing a B&B set in the near future at an advantage for not having to use pieces on the floo fireplace and instead being able to focus on the vanishing cabinet and death eater meeting.

Would have much preferred a Harry variant in the cloak/green jumper he wears in that scene with a dirty face print to an inferior version of the old Lucius.

This. I don't think we ever got that dirty face Harry variant? This could be a perfect time and set to get such minifigure.

I'm wondering what other sets might use the new Floo powder mechanism. Hogwarts isn't usually connected to the Floo Network, and I think the only exceptions to this were cut from the movies. The Ministry of Magic fireplaces would be ideal, but we've already had a MoM set recently which was based on DH, so maybe we might get an OotP set based on the Dumbledore v Voldemort duel sometime? The Leaky Cauldron also used Floo, but I don't think this was ever featured in the movies, and Lego has so far steered away from making a pub despite how iconic it is to the HP franchise.

Technically we did get this in the Diagon Alley D2C. That’s why the dirty faced Harry head exists for them to use in the Burrow. The cloak he wears is just pulled closed so you can’t see what’s under it (allowing the torso to pull triple duty with Ron and Hermione in the same set). Personally, I don’t think that outfit would look right as a more open cloak with just printing. It would be better as a cape over a green torso, and that means it would probably be a bad idea to put it in a set where the minifig was expected to be shoved in a mechanism that the cape could easily get caught in. Far better to save it for a prospective Flourish and Blott’s playset.

I don´t think so, I mean if there were a Borgin and Burkes Set, that would have to include the Fireplace aswell to feel complete. I don´t think they would make it in a way where the GWP would have to be included in the actual set.

I would hope if they make such a Set they would make it to go alongside the Diagon Alley and Gringotts Bank Sets and not the WWW-System.

The thing about Borgin and Burke’s is that it’s not on Diagon Alley, it’s on Knockturn Alley – which branches off from Diagon as you can see with the labeled entrance that’s included in the D2C. It doesn’t belong added on to the end of the street like Gringott’s or even the Leaky Cauldron – there’s no way to properly add it to the existing set without it being invisible from the front and having one of its side walls flush with the open backs of the current shops. A D2C B&B just isn’t likely, people are better off hoping for a standalone playset where the shop is on its own and a little beefier than the two-a-set shops but smaller than the D2C shops. There would be nothing stopping collectors from displaying it next to the D2C, it just wouldn’t be an officially advertised combination.

That‘s one issue with the idea of a Knockturn Alley D2C set, the other is its lack of significance. I don’t think KA is important enough to deserve its own large-scale set :shrug_oh_well: If it came with some missing well-known DA shops, maybe, but even that is not very likely since the shops with enough significance and screentime to warrant sets have already been made (LC notwithstanding).

That said, a KA expansion to the smaller-scale DA system could still be in the cards.

Well both Sets/Systems are labled Diagon Alley though, so a Knockturn Alley Set would have to have it´s own labeling anyways - and in the end I don´t think that it matters that much how people would display it in the end to Lego. And in the end it might just be more likely for Lego to do it as a 18+ rather than a playset for me. Eitherway, I am sure people will be happy if we get one no matter which version it would be.

Well, it doesn´t have to be a 400€ Set, they could also decide to just make Borgin and Burkes for 200€ or even less - depending on whether they would add some smaller Shops to it. I mean there are still enough Shops where we know the names and what they are there for to just make one smaller shop left and right of it, where Lego could just make the interior based on their imagination - not like they didn´t do it like that in the past already.

The question though is whether it’s iconic enough for a D2C set :shrug_oh_well: Iconicity is a major factor for D2C sets, after all. The remaining shops aren’t plot-relevant and Borgin and Burkes appears only in two scenes. A regular set seems more appropriate for something that’s nowhere near as recognisable as Ollivander’s, WWW, or Gringotts.

I´d say Knockturn Alley is still pretty Iconic however - and Malfoy Manor didn´t get more scenes really either - and one of which kinda disqualifies itself from beeing depicted. Sure we don´t know yet if it will be exclusive, but in the end does that really matter? They could aswell make a Knockturn Alley Set in the style of the Diagon Alley System and give it the Slot of the Durmstrang ship for instance. Doesn´t have to be the Back to Hogwarts Slot. And probably, if they would be going for a expansion of the Diagon Alley System with a bigger Back to Hogwarts-Slot I would probably rather think they would do the Leaky Cauldron there instead - which is indeed more fitting to expand it and more iconic - and with the Knight Bus getting a new Set next year that would also make sense.

In my opinion, we won't see a Borgin and Burkes set to be paired with Diagon Alley and Gringotts simply because we have this GWP that covers half of the things that should be in the shop.

Anyway, it wouldn't be impossible for LEGO to produce Borgin and Burkes and paired it with an important missing location: Leaky Cauldron. Put in a transition zone in the middle and a London street on one side, call the set Diagon Alley and Knockturn Alley and you'll probably have a nice set.

What are the chances of us getting the new Fluffy build/mold in a new huge castle line?

I tried to avoid the Fluffy Encounter set but he 100% needs to be in that castle line. I don't like his leg build but overall I'll be fine with that version hanging around somewhere (probably near Hagrid's hut).

This is how I see them doing it. They'll probably want to put the Leaky Cauldron on 2 half baseplates or 1 big one to keep it possible to make an enclosed street display. Then one side of the street could be a bigger Madam Malkin's and the other could be Knockturn Alley but with some clever angles so that it doubles as a diagon alley shop from the front with maybe a facade of random shops. They could even put Borgin and Burkes on a hinge like the Ollivanders staircase, so that when displayed next to WWW you can fold it out and it would align with the Knockturn Alley entrance if desired (I doubt anyone has the space to display it like that, but it's nice to have options)

Yeah, I thought about that option but in the end I thought it seems kinda unlikely that they would go this route. I also would expect the Cauldron to be a bit bigger than the Shops are and with the Backyard included it would rather guess they would do the cauldron on its own, or with an small shop to better depict that you are entering the Diagon Alley.

I'm sure Fluffy will show up again.

Also, the B&B GWP is the first new HP set this year that I'd actually want if they sold it normally. I even MOCced myself up a fireplace at Malfoy Manor based on the fireplace of the old Burrow! But I'm not buying stuff for EUR 200 or something to get it and I'm not paying second-hand prices for an exclusive HP GWP either (those are ridiculous), so money saved, I guess.

Would love to see Fluffy in new mold, however, I don't think it will happen, due to the fact we had one 2-3 years ago, the same goes to Basilisk and Hungarian Horn tail. Would love to see more Harry Potter magic world based sets, with different characters and creatures, that you could read about in books, or know from collector cards in many games.

The Forbidden Corridor is a staple of HP locations, I doubt they'll do the "most detailed Hogwarts ever" without it. In fact I'd expect some nod to all the challenges from PS, even ones like the Chamber of Winged Keys that haven't been done since 2001. I'm assuming Fluffy will be brick-built again. The last version was actually decently designed expect for the awful light bluish gray parts that completely ruined it.

I wouldn't count too much on this LEGO statement to imagine what will or won't be in the new Hogwarts, first of all cause it's, well, marketing and secondly cause, in my opinion, "most detailed" refers more to the general appearance of the castle than to what there's inside. So said, I wouldn't rule out PS challenges from the future sets, even if I see more likely having a small switchable set with the final challenge with Voldemort or a new chamber of secrets in 2026.

That is where we differ. I think it means that we will get locations that haven't been done before as part of the castle system (i.e. the Hufflepuff common room) or that have been missing from previous iterations (i.e. the Owlery and troll bathroom which haven't been done since 2001) in addition to the staples (which include the Chamber of Secrets and likely also the Forbidden Corridor). Even if a lot of these lications are done as sparsely as possible if the Hufflepuff common room is any indication.

With the TNBC Ideas set revealed, I believe the Burrow and the GWP are the final sets scheduled for September that have yet to be officially revealed :classic: Can’t be that long before we get some juicy high-res pictures :excited:

I just ordered Fluffy separated from that set - pretty happy about that. Will have some fun modding it, buying another head with opened eyes, putting him next go Hagrid's Hut where he will hang out with Fang and etc.

PS: The main thing from "non human creatures" part that i want is more House Elves. Kreacher and Winky are must have! (not sure if we will get Winky though - Lego mostly focusing on HP movies as i noticed, and those never had Winky - we don't even know how she can look like in HP universe style because Lego would have to do some artistic freedom stuff. In the books she portrayed with a dog-like nose which don't fit Lego/movie style of house elves). Upcoming ultra huge Hogwards will have so much space and im sure it will have some part to make a kitchen MOC with elves and lots of cooking in the process (if lego wont make that themselves).

They won’t touch that with a dirty rusty shovel, even ignoring that the sets are 95-99% based on the movies  Something tells me a set depicting a magical school employing slaves that are happy to be slaves wouldn’t go over so well. The filmmakers were wise to cut that particular subplot :laugh_hard: And the be whole Winky thing was just needlessly convoluted in the book, so her being cut was a good idea as well in my opinion.

I think Fluffy has a 50/50 Chance. Most detailed does not mean most complete. I doubt Lego is smart/self reflected  enough to realise  that the set failed because the set was pathetic, not because children would not love Fluffy. I'd wait, if he will be in the new castle, and buy the really old moulded one otherwise. Just paint his eyes black or yellow and he holds up pretty well today.

It would also be a neat thing to get a cmf Hades with a little Cerberus and a recoour of it as microscale Fluffy xD
