Looks to me like the newspaper in the Knight Bus is a sticker rather than a new print.  Very disappointing.

If you look at the minifgure graphic, the newspaper graphic goes very close to the edge compared to the other stickers in the set.

My only issue is that while the potions class was solid, our other interior set is pretty poor! Not every set needs to have four walls blocking the view in the castle and they should never require the set to be unfolded out of the castle for the furniture to look decent.

I'm personally fine with them being closed up as that's how it exists in universe but I completely understand wanting to show off the classroom interiors. What Iv'e done with the potion classroom when its under the Great Hall is open the wall with the door. Depending on the lighting in the room and what height it's being displayed at. you can actually see the majority of the details.

I think the problem is  as somewhat else said, the sets sold separately wouldn't feel complete if  they aren't more enclosed. Shoot people have already complained about that with the troll bathroom under the great hall that comes with the set.

It's LEGO... just take the wall with the door off if you want?

Personally, while I'm not interested in buying into this new system for myself, from a play perspective I think the closed up rooms that you pull out and open up is pretty cool and magical. I would dig it as a kid.

My only critiques are just that, so far, the rooms have struck me as expensive and/or underwhelming, but the concept and structure of the system is good.

I think the new $80 Flying Lesson from 2025 and the previous $20 Flying Lesson from 2021 would both make great Castle sets if they were built in gray and had Castle minifigures. However, I can't think of any existing Castle factions with colors that would work well with the brown stone of Hogwarts instead of the gray stone of traditional Lego castles.

I saw that the shop arrangement matched the film set at the Studio Tour in London and from that was able to identify most of the buildings. Borgrin and Burkes was the trickiest to identify since that spot in the film set is just a wall with the start of a passageway. I rewatched the beginning of Half-Blood Prince and realized that the passageway was the ones to Knockturn Alley, which is different from Chamber of Secrets film where it was between the book store and joke store (Second-Hand Books and Gamble and Jape's in the film, but Flourish and Blotts and Weasley Wizard Wheezes in the USC Lego set and also referenced in this one)

Can someone confirm why there is no Shrunken Head in the Knight Bus? That’s just ridiculous.  The description on Lego.com says ‘beds’ which means we are getting multiple beds on different floors.  However from the interior shot of the bottom floor the bed looks very plain.

Strange to see that people are upset about this new detailed Hogwarts as an idea. I personally think it's amazing. Honestly it's one of my main Lego-interests at this point. Veeery curious to see the finished hogwarts. I see it as an openworld game with a ton of unlockable characters but on my table.

I've been seeing Harry Potter lego sets since the very first wave but never tried to get into the theme despite being a movie and books fan. But I always dreamed about a very big doll house-like Hogwarts with an insane amount of characters and sets coming with it.

I know we got "modular hogwarts" already but...I honestly think that lego used those previous waves as a training ground to experiment with an idea of a modular Hogwarts and decided to go big this time after seeing what they can do.

With these newest waves we get:

- 1 huge part of Hogwarts for each year (the main "dollhouse" part). And if you complain about it being expensive - I bought The Great Hall on amazon for 140 euros. Just wait. Don't fomo. It's your fault if you get it for 200 eur and feel bad about that - literally every lego set hits an affordable price point on Amazon. Aragog was 14 eur. Ford Anglia was 10 eur and Boathouse hit 27 eur eventually. (i mean...if you complaining about this thing being too expensive. Because after reading lego-reddit i sometimes think that every Lego collector other than me is a billionaire :pir-laugh:)
- Smaller "support" buildings just to enrich the playset (owlery, flying lessons, etc.) and add more minifigures.
- Even smaller and cheaper sets that work as pieces and characters/props packs.

You are doing it wrong complaining about 1 set of this wave thinking that Transfiguration Class is too simplostic. It's just 1 small piece of a bigger picture. I'm sure it will be amazing in the end after ~3 years of these waves. At this point we have just The Great Hall. I would not recomment counting other cheaper/smaller sets of this wave as something worth being judged without seeing the next "main building.

Also didn't we get a bigger transfiguration class not so long ago? (76382). Just buy that one if you want it as a playset. This one is a small room in a bigger building (like a beehive with swappable honeycombs, haha). It supposed to be unfold to play with it on a table and then slide it back when you done with it.

Sets like Christmas Calendar supposed to work as item packs that give you some stuff to play with (fireplace, additional tables, etc).

PPS:

I absolutely dislike "afol" sets. I'm so happy these "detailed hogwarts" sets look like they were meant for kids or people that like to have fun with lego, but at the same time they all are a part of a much more expensive (imagine how all that stuff will cost together as a collection after 3 years of waves?) and detailed building. It's an interesting mix of "fun" and "afol".

PPPS:What i would be complaining about if i was an "afol" - the Malfoy Manor. Why is it so simplistic? It's just a facade, there is no room for anything. And it has a ___toilet room___ that could be used for something much better that represents parts of a Malfoy Manor (honestly! That toilet room bothers me and makes me associate the Malfoy Manor with Hidden Side...I feel like toilet ghosts can be seen coming out of it at any moment!). Yet many afols went nuts and excited over that set... Personally to me Malfoy Manor is the second disappointment after that weird Hagrid on a Motorbike from revealed sets.

I don’t have an issue with the sliding different scenes in and out but I do have an issue with some of them been incllosed and the only way to see them is with opening the section up.  I feel like they need to make some generic areas so we can fit all sections in as well.

Why on this photo Magical Menagerie is on the far left, where on Gringotts D2C it is next to the bank? :D

Because thats where It was in the first movies and this configuration is from the later movies.

Exactly. The D2C set is a hybrid of Diagon Alley from the first, second and sixth film, whereas this new set is the layout from just the sixth (and the Studio Tour in London).

This is DA from the film Chamber of Secrets

468340744_10161034671093195_788011651589

For the D2C Lego set, Flourish and Blotts was put in the Second-hand bookshop space and Olivanders was restored back to where it was in Philosopher's Stone near Gringotts. Weasley Wizard Wheezes was put where Gambol and Japes Joke is (since they bought the store in Half-Blood Prince). The entrance to Knockturn Alley was kept between the book store and joke shop as seen in Chamber of Secrets. This entrance was moved in Half-Blood Prince film to be on the the end of the street by Gringotts.

The Gringotts D2C and Owl Post sets are inspired by the DA layout at Universal Studios Wizarding World theme park in Florida, where Magical Menagerie is next to Gringotts. I don't believe Owl Post is even seen in any of the films so its design is straight from the park.

So the witch in the Knight Bus is using the same torso as the flower seller witch in the Ollivander's set which is dissappointing as like with the DA Ollivander torso being used for Griphook and the random wizard from the minifigure pack, it starts to looks like all the magical folk have a uniform.

I also can't tell if her hair hat combo is the same one as Mcgonagall or if the hair is darker. If it is the same, then I'm guessing that the only part that is new is the sleeping face?

Lol. I suppose they are limited for clothes shops if they have to stick to just DA.

And even more limited for actual clothes if their only option is the LEGO version of Madam Malkin's. Which sells stuff like caps, top hats, and tuxedos, but very little in the way of, you know, robes, witches' hats, and other wizarding apparel.

The summer set list consists of the following sets, according to Bricktap:

  • 76445 Herbology Class
  • 76448 Dumbledore’s Phoenix
  • 76449 Monster Book of Monsters
  • 76450 Book Nook
  • 76451 Aunt Marge‘s Visit
  • 76452 QQS & „Ice Cream“
  • 76454 Hogwarts Main Tower

Hmmmm. Not sure what to think of that list. There are just so many remakes!

I'm content in a good way. Greenhouses are "new" (I'm ignoring the Hogwarts Moment set because it wasn't a greenhouse) and have been the portion of the castle I have been wanting most since it breaks up all the tan, green, and grey (and need a Professor Sprout).

The Main Tower is expected and I think the name instead of Grand Staircase is simply because most people probably don't know its called the Grand Staircase besides Harry Potter superfans.

The others while remakes (besides the Book Nook) are understandable. Fawkes has been retired for 3 years, Private Drive retired at the end of last year, Book of Monsters 4 years ago, and QQs/Ice Cream made sense to continue the playset version of DA. Without new HP content (and the lack of buy in behind Fantastic Beats), they will have to repeat sets and they know what sold well before.

So I guess I was right that we would finally get the greenhouses in the HP wave.

Well with the castle getting a new round that isn´t really surprising.

Though I have to say I don´t actually see that many remakes, Or probably it is how you count it. Aunt Marge´s visit will be another Privet Drive, but in the end it is another scene and we get a new minifigure. Book Nook is new. Monster Book was a GWP the last time which many missed so not that sad that we get it again. Herbology Class - well sure we got the class in form of the books, but we never got the greenhouses and I would be really surprised if we don´t see them included here - so I wouldn´t count that one as a remake. Similar thing with Fawkes. Sure we had him, but the last one was a movable Figure. I would love to get one in the form like we got Hedwig in the Hogwarts Icons Set - though that one would not be in the list yet I guess so I guess we will rather get something similar to this years Hedwig sitting on the Privet Drive Sign.

Actually surprised that Quality Quidditch Supplies and Fortescues Ice Cream Parlour are in the new Set, since both of them are in the big Diagon Alley Set and I would have thought they will combine an existing Shop with a new one to animate people to buy it. Not complaining though, makes it easier for people to skip it. Anyways good to know that the line continues.

Main Tower - well that one kinda was to be expected in this Wave.

It doesn't actually have to be Privet Drive just from the set name. Might still be a buildable figure of Aunt Marge or, like someone else has said, just a scene with part of the house in it.

Technically we did get a greenhouse with the Astronomy Tower! (Before that with the OotP castle, but that's a long way back.) I'm assuming the lesson will be Mandrakes again because what else would it be.

Meh, I hope not. That is, if we do get him in that form I hope he'll at least look better! They have done Hedwig to death (literally since the last set she's in is her death scene), is Fawkes the new Hedwig?

Also, someone on Reddit pointed out that "Dumbledore's Phoenix" instead of "Fawkes" is an odd set name and that the description could possibly refer to Dumbledore's phoenix patronus as well (akin to the Expecto Patronum set which is retiring by the end of the year).

I'm really amazed that they're continuing with the series. I can't imagine the sets sell well at those prices! I also notice that - like with Ollivander's and Madam Malkin's before - they've dropped the "Diagon Alley:" part of the name. This time not even Fortescue's name is in it! As for the combination, if LEGO loves anything it's cafés and the like. The other options for non-plot relevant, secondary shops - like Slug and Jigger's, Mr Mulpepper's, Potage's and so on - are all fairly obscure with fairly "boring" (to kids!) wares. Though you're right that for anyone who owns the D2C this sounds like an easy skip.

Any guesses about pricing? The Book Nook and Main Tower sound like they'd be well over EUR 100 each (the tower could well be over EUR 200 depending on size). The DA set will probably be at least EUR 80 again. As for the others it really depends on execution.

Huh, where did you actually get this list from? It's nowhere to be found.

Still, sounds legit—and disappointing: two buildable creatures, a book nook, another Diagon Alley set, another 4 Privet Drive, and two more Hogwarts expansions.

The usual place, HP subsection.

If the Aunt Marge set is indeed Privet Drive, I'd expect its full name to be something like "Privet Drive: Aunt Marge's Visit" akin to what we've had with Hagrid’s Hut.

Otherwise it might well be another buildable atrocity like the motorcycle set with Harry, Marge, and Ripper. I also don't see why they'd give us Marge in minifig form since that would defeat the point of including her at all (as her only iconic scene is her getting blown up).

My thoughts:

-YAY! STOKED for main tower! Apologies to the 2018 tower…I am hoping TLG does it justice this time!

-i am hoping Aunt Marge’s visit includes the Dursleys’ glass window backroom! (Greenhouse?)

-I should be excited for the Herbology Class, but why does part of my brain surmise it will NOT be a greenhouse and will only be a slide in ala January’s Charm Class. I am hoping to be pleasantly surprised! I want a substancial greenhouse after those two amazing Ideas sets with all the window panes!

Also, I feel the chances for new characters or variants are very slim with this wave, besides Marge of course. QQS could come with new random shopkeepers/shoppers and the Main Tower may feature new students and/or a new house ghost, but beyond that? :shrug_oh_well:

Then again, we are at a point with this theme where we’re genuinely getting close to running out of characters :laugh_hard:

About Herbology Class set it will be interesting to know where and how LEGO will link it to the general layout of the castle. Likely the CoS mandrake lesson.

As someone has already stated on Reddit, Dumbledore's Phoenix is a strange name - the previous buildable creature set has Fawkes in the name. Maybe it could really be a patronus set.

I don't really have ideas on what to expect from Monster Book of Monsters different from the previous set. Probably it's really just a simple remake.

I had to search on google what a Book Nook is :iamded_lol:not the set I'm into.

From Aunt Marge's Visit I expect Marge and Ripper and - I don't know how much solid as a suggestion - the rear part of the house (the front part is, obviously, the iconic part from a display point of view, but having only the rear could excite people that already had Privet Drive set and complete it).

QQS & Ice Cream continue the scheme of a double-shop Diagon Alley set. This time with two existing shop in the Diagon Alley shops set. Not interested in it.

Hogwarts Main Tower is the very predictable set  I'm expecting to see the Dumbledore's office inside.

Well of course it doesn´t have to be but that would make most sense since we hadn´t have one for a (short) while now. And really, I could see them doing a scene instead of the whole house, although it seems unlikely to me - but if they do a buildable figure, I´ll eat all my Lego Bricks lol. I mean, Buckbeak and Dobby are both well Iconic within the franchise, something what I just don´t see with Aunt Marge. So there is like no way it will be a buildable figure unless it is a mechanical one where you can actually inflate here as a play feature.

I had to look it up honestly, but yeah it is there. Let me rephrase it to a proper greenhouse then, since the Astronomy Tower one is very small.

Well, after Hedwig, Fawkes is probably the most iconic creature in the franchise, so it isn´t really surprising to me. I mean it could also be more like Buckbeak or the Patronus (in Style, I don´t think it will be an actual Patronus). Eitherway it was just a matter of time till we see a new one - and I don´t think you can really compare it to Hedweig, who got like ten versions.

Wouldn´t be surprised it they make a Basilisk or Nagini or a big Buildable Aragog at some point lol.

That seems unlikely to me. And at this point I wouldn´t be to sure that is the name of the Product, though it doesn´t seem that unlikely to me. But if we look at other Sets they are also names Hogwarts Main Tower (which again would be not an impossible name) and the Diagon Alley Set named WQuality Quidditch Supplies and Ice Cream - in that case I just can´t belive that the Ice Cream part is the official name ;).

As said above, I don´t think it will be the official name. And as said with the last Wave I think they just dropped the Diagon Alley Part because with double Shops the name would be to long. Especially since the Shops don´t really have short names themselves ;).

I hope the Herbology class is a mid sized Set, would be a real disappointment if it would just be 20-30Euro honestly. So about 50€ would be something I expect to make a proper Greenhouse.

Fawkes could be anything from 20 to 80€ I guess depending on what they are doing with it. Main Tower will be the most expensive one, so would be guessing 150-200€. Well actually the Diagon Alley Set could be the same price range. Marges Visit depends a lot on how they do it, if they make a Privet drive it would probably be 80-120€ too, which would lead us to a quite expensive wave.

I would guess it depends on what Scene it will show. But eitherway there will be a lot Bricks for the structere itself, so I would take it as a rather expensive Set for what we are getting. I am actually hoping it shows some Iconic Scene(s) we already had and can easily skip.

I’m really looking forward to the main tower. The rest? Not so much. I’d be into the greenhouse but I’ve got a sneaking suspicion based on its placement in the list that it’ll be a smaller sliding interior based set like the Charms class and not an exterior set. If the Marge set is a Privet Drive remake I may get it once it’s on sale. Honestly I don’t mind. I haven’t gotten any of this years castle sets yet (I’ll get the exteriors at least), Hagrid’s Hut, or any of the tempting smaller sets like Aragog or the car, plus there’s the whole winter wave too.

It used to be that the winter wave was full of little gimmicky junk and the summer wave would contain all the proper playsets but that’s not the case anymore. Flying Lesson and the Manor are big exterior sets. Knight Bus is a solid if skippable remake at an appropriate time and then there’s the dueling club and charms class which are solid optional interior playsets (although charms really comes close to the gimmicky category). Now this summer is looking like it’s just the massive hogwarts set, big DA set, herbology, and whatever the Marge set is. The winter wave is now outnumbering the summer wave for standard minifig based builds.

I think us getting new random bystanders in QQS is all but certain, they've done it for every one of the DA playsets so far (the Owl Post employee, the student in the wheelchair, the flower-selling witch) and are continuing the trend with the sleeping witch in the Knight Bus.

Yes. A tower filled with stairs and portraits is hardly the most exciting thing, they have to combine it with something in order to be able to give us a halfway decent interior.
