I’d be into the greenhouse but I’ve got a sneaking suspicion based on its placement in the list that it’ll be a smaller sliding interior based set like the Charms class and not an exterior set. The list is after Set numbers, not Price though. But if we take a look at the Sets, there are quite some expensive ones included and I would guess Greenhouses would be a cheaper one. The question is just if it will be a small set in the 20-30€ range or rather above that to let´s say 50€. At least all of this seems possible. But given the other prices we could expect from those Sets I would guess Fawkes is indeed a small Set. Well we might just have to wait for the prices, given for all other themes those were released alongside with the numbers/names it is kinda strange that we didn´t got them for this theme aswell.

QQS could come with new random shopkeepers/shoppers and the Main Tower may feature new students and/or a new house ghost, but beyond that? Then again, we are at a point with this theme where we’re genuinely getting close to running out of characters I agree, I'm hoping we get a new character that ties into QQS, maybe a Cormac or Katie Bell or Alicia Spinnett. WWW included Romilda Vane, and Ollivanders included Madam Malkin, so Lego has included an exclusive character in each of the first 2 smaller diagon alley sets. Hopefully the trend continues.
Virginia_Bricks Posted December 8, 2024 Posted December 8, 2024 (edited) Prices leaked. Herbology is supposedly $60 and main tower is $250. If these are true, this is a big win for the modular castle and big L for wallets (and a L for children/parents since that is D2C pricing for a playset). Seems Lego has taken a drastic change in strategy with price for HP this year. Edited December 8, 2024 by Virginia_Bricks

Well happy for Herbology but the Tower is a lot money. I mean sure it will be a big Set, but most kids will just end up getting rooms not the castle anymore which kinda is a shame. Fawkes is basically confirmed to be Privet Drive Hedwig Style now with 20€. Book nook is 100€ and Features the Hogwarts Express - well easy skip I guess. 90€ for Marges visit confirms it to me that we will get the privet drive and the Diagon Alley shops are surprisingly cheap with just 100€ - I guess Fortescues won´t be that big then. Book of Monsters for 60.
BrickBob Studpants Posted December 8, 2024 Posted December 8, 2024 $250 for the tower is kinda insane, that‘s in D2C territory! The herbology classroom is also a lot larger than expected while Fawkes will be miniscule Also, impressive how someone here recently called it that the Book Nook would feature the Hogwarts Express!
RODDY Posted December 8, 2024 Posted December 8, 2024 Not surprised the tower is $250, the Hall itself is $200 so makes sense. Hopefully we get moving staircases and a Dumbledore’s Office that is actually done justice.
Tariq j Posted December 8, 2024 Posted December 8, 2024 Oh wow, I didn’t expect Marge’s Visit to be $90, I guess it must include all of Privet Drive as oppose to a small section of it - or it could be a mini build able Aunt Marge The Hogwarts Tower sounds great. The 2018 one was a little empty and I don’t recall the 2020 system having one? I imagine they’ll be able to include a lot at the price range.
BrickMatit Posted December 8, 2024 Posted December 8, 2024 (edited) 250$ is a lot! The set has to be perfect. I suppose it could be made by the tower and the quad entrance, completing the castle left to the viaduct. In the tower I can imagine LEGO will put a small section of moving staircase and some other location, like Dumbledore's office and Gryffindor common room - common room that could be switchable with another set like Lupin's classroom. In the underground section could we see again the Chamber of Secrets section? I don't remember other main location in the underground apart from Slytherin common room (that probably will be in the viaduct entrance underground section) and Philosopher stone challenges (but I thik LEGO will move away from PS/CoS to CoS/PoA). Just a few scattered ideas. What do you think? Edited December 8, 2024 by BrickMatit
THELEGOBATMAN Posted December 8, 2024 Posted December 8, 2024 Oh man, not a single relatively cheap, system set. If the cheapest one is 60€, something is wrong. I just bought the Flying Ford and the Boathouse, both are great sets for what they are. I'd want at least one set like this per wave, personally I miss the times when we were getting a lot of smaller playsets and Hogwarts expansions.
Legofan04 Posted December 8, 2024 Posted December 8, 2024 (edited) Oh, this is an interesting list indeed. - Herbology classroom: For $60 dollars it all but confirms a proper Green House Build of decent size ( since it'll be assumedly bigger than the potions classroom). This is incredibly exciting as by the time of its release, it'll have been 18 years since a proper Greenhouse. No, the one in the Astronomy tower doesn't count (imo) which was an odd conclusion. Would have rather had the parts to it have gone to the main tower or the budget going to giving us door frames that weren't horrendously white. The figures in this new set will be interesting depending on the scene they choose to adapt. What scenes were there besides the one with the Mandrakes? - Dumbledore's phonix is an odd set name. Although the suggestions have been a set similar to the Hedwig from this year, what if it's a play set? I could see them making Dumbledore's departing scene from Order of The Phonix, especially with one of sets being the Main Tower. - Aunt Marges visit should be cool depending on how they do Aunt Marge. I hope they dow both a regular figure of her and a blown up version. As far as differences between this an the last Private drive, I would imagine the interior to different. Given the scenes Lego would be portraying, it would likely include the kitchen and dining room compared to the family/sitting room in the last version. Also Perhaps it'll be the back half of the house with their black porch area she floats through and the back yard. - Monster Book of Monsters is likely buildable object. The only scenes it's prominent in wouldn't work well as a play set. Don't have much interest in that or the Book end. - The quality Quiddich and Ice Cream isn't as interesting sounding as the Diagon Alley set this year. - The Main tower is expansive but I bet it's going to look great. That was me. Based on the fact that there's already a competing product which does (by Reobrix).Though that one is over 3.000 pieces, I'm assuming LEGO's version will have a lot less. Still, I think it's another instance of LEGO looking towards the competition, gauging which of their products sell and trying to include them in their own portfolio so as to prevent customers from straying.

Agree with the desire for smaller play sets, but did anyone truly like the smaller Hogwarts expansions? All I saw for the smaller Hogwarts sets of the 2021 system were complaints about how empty they felt or didn't allow for the figures to really be in them because of the gridded plates that Lego used (which were both valid complaints). The only two that seemed to get a positive response were the Clock tower with the hospital wing and the Girls bathroom, which although a good set didn't have much room to put figures in either. 2 minutes ago, BrickMatit said: From what I remember in movies there's only two scenes: mandrakes lesson - probably the scene chosen by LEGO - and the encounter between Harry - after drinking Felix Felicis - and Slughorn in HBP. Book of Monsters for 60. How is EUR 100 cheap? The playset DA sets have all been horribly overpriced so far. Ollivander's and MM's had a list price of EUR 90 for 700+ pieces, WWW a list price of EUR 95 for 800+ pieces. I'm assuming that QQS won't look like its D2C counterpart but like its counterpart in the microscale DA (with the blue and the hoops upstairs). If we go by that, it seems to be one of the larger buildings there but not as large as WWW. And Fortescue's in the same set is tiny! Together, I doubt those two could have much more of a footprint than Ollivander's and MM's. I'm curious about the Monster Book. At EUR 60 it had better be substantial. Maybe it's sort of a follow-up to those trunk sets - a book as a container where you can store buildable monsters and take them out to play with them? 19 minutes ago, Legofan04 said: Agree with the desire for smaller play sets, but did anyone truly like the smaller Hogwarts expansions? True, the quality of the 2021 Hogwarts system varies. Though I'd rate the Room of Requirement among the good sets as well, I actually like it better than the Hospital Wing. Also the Chamber of Secrets set itself was pretty good (if overpriced). But there's a large gulf between addressing the previous complaints (that is: not using gridded plates, making the modules a tad bigger, and not churning out lackluster efforts like the Fluffy Encounter or Sirius Black's Rescue) and expecting us to pay a total of EUR 450 for just TWO parts of the castle - the same parts that were (apart from the underground section) both done in a single EUR 100 set in 2018! Or to pay around EUR 40 for a single class module (EUR 20 for a half-module), effectively doubling the prices of the 2021 system. That's just ridiculously expensive for playsets. There has to be some kind of middle ground. To put things in perspective: EUR 450 (the price of the Great Hall and Staircase Tower) will get you the D2C Diagon Alley, even at its increased list price (it used to be just EUR 400). It pretty much gets you the entire microscale D2C castle at over 6.000 pieces. The lastest modular building, 2025's Tudor Corner, is EUR 230 - cheaper than the Staircase Tower! And those are all well-designed, finished sets which you aren't supposed to improve by replacing parts of them with additional sets! We're straying far from playset pricing here. I know Harry Potter is still getting some smaller sets, but I think the price ranges had high increases in the past year or two.

As for comparing in price to the D2C Diagon Alley it is a decent comparison volume wise (piece count is radically different given the size of pieces). Both are 16 studs deep and DA is only a few studs longer, while the GH is taller. I'm expecting the GH and MT will also have more minifigures overall.
BrickBob Studpants Posted December 8, 2024 Posted December 8, 2024 Now the big question is which movie the tower is gonna be based on. My gut tells me it's CoS due to Dumbledore' office, which surely has to be included, having such a big scene in that movie. My pick would be OotP though. They could recreate the iconic "arrest" scene and have Grubbly-Plank included in the set as well! She is one of the very few missing teachers, after all Also, OotP just needs more love from LEGO in general.

I wouldn´t say they can´t include it. I mean there is a ground section for sure, since it needs to connect to the great hall, and it could include like anything given the great hall also had the bathroom with the troll. But my best guess on what is included would be either the chamber of secrets, or one (or several) of the trials from PS. Another option would be Slythering common rooms, but the other two seem more likely to me. Since Dumbledores Office is in the top of the Tower I could see them doing it as a steady location, not a module like they did with the great hall. 21 minutes ago, brickbride said: How is EUR 100 cheap? It will be stupidly expensive but gorgeous. Edited December 8, 2024 by Gorilla94

Really hoping the main tower depicts OotP or a movie that isn’t PS or CoS. Would love to maybe see an Umbridges office too with cat plates and stickers like where it is on the microscale. Would be great for Dumbledore office too.

It doesn't work like that at LEGO with a timeline so short. They'd have already planned this out, and only if sales were absolutely disastrous would they change course (like cancelling Vidiyo, or second waves of some things back in the day). The pricing of these sets is too damn high for me, but when they keep resetting Hogwarts every fourth year, they're bound to do different things. Right now we're in the mega expensive era of Hogwarts for wealthy people. 2018-2020 was the relatively reasonable revamped Hogwarts, 2021-2023 was the callback anniversary retro Hogwarts, and now we're into the mega expensive dollhouse Hogwarts. That said, at least the side buildings go with other things and look good by themselves this time, unlike in 2021-2023. We'll see what 2026 brings.

That used to be reserved for Hogwarts Moments-esque things - now, that seems to be standard play sets. We have two <€25 standard sets coming in January 2025. Compare that to the 2021-23 green roof era, where in all of 2023 we got zero(!), 2022 we got one, and 2021 we got two. And in the 2018-20 grey roof era, we had two <€25 sets a year. To me that suggests a return to form, with standard cheap play sets becoming more accessible again, just with a different release schedule. Edited December 9, 2024 by sammy_zammy
