Thanks! forgot there were so many in the various Belle sets

. Those will pair nicely.

yes, I’m on the fence with the Lucifer and Raja pieces. Might be the last of the ones I acquire (if I do at all).

Yes! I’ve been thinking of picking this set up just for the maleficent dragon but this would be an added bonus.

I'll probably hold off on the Raya and Wish pals unless we get any minifigures from the 2 movies.

And there's also the Magic Carpet. Besides the one hanging in the Disney Castle, there's also several variations in the Jasmine minidoll sets although I don't know how minifigure compatible they are.

I did pick up the Maleficent dragon set. The Flora, Fauna, Merryweather tiles each come with an extra copy. So you can have one set in the actual set and another set for personal use. I've hung the second set in the Disney Castle bedroom.

Considering what a disaster Wish was, I doubt we'll ever see minifigures made for that in the future. All the merch for the film is still heavily on clearance and not selling, one year later, so I doubt Disney/Lego will return to this property. I wouldn't be surprised if Raya doesn't get a minifigure either since that didn't do well either.

Raya being an official Disney Princess ups her odds of showing up in a future CMF. As for Wish...yeah I wouldn't hold my breath they show up. At least not with more popular characters still in the queue for figures.

She's rarely marketed though. I've noticed they still mostly leave her out of merchandise and act like Moana was the last official princess. Similarly, I've noticed that Merida gets snubbed a lot now and barely shows up. Which may also explain why Merida is the only other official princess without a minifigure, despite having one in the Lego Incredibles 2 game.

Disney has phased out princesses before. They did this with Esmeralda and Tinker Bell. In Tink's case it was so she could have her own franchise, the Disney Fairies, but that's also a good example of a completely defunct franchise now.

Raya did pop up in the Enchanted Treehouse last year, had a reference in the new Disney Castle, and has popped up in a couple places in the Parks. I think she's sitting at about the same representation as Pocahontas. Not noticeably visible but still part of the group. I'm not saying her inclusion is imminent, but if we see a Raya mini figure pop up I won't be super shocked by it.

Merida though has been used a ton in the parks and cruise line and is even a new character in Dreamlight Valley. I wonder if her being excluded has more to do with her being Pixar or having so many Princesses that when it comes time to pick, she's not popular enough to make the final cut on some merch.

Pocahontas is on a much different level than Raya. Pocahontas is associated with the 90s era, one of Disney's most prolific. To this day, that film has the largest premiere of all time. It has an Oscar-winning song which is still a Disney anthem. It's VHS was in the top 10 best-selling VHS tapes of all time, just a bit below Toy Story while beating Cinderella and Toy Story 2. Whatever its critical reception, it's still an iconic and beloved Disney film and the character a household name. In the early days of the DP franchise, there were sales figures for the original princesses and Pocahontas dolls sold better than Mulan. In the UK, there was a survey on most watched DP movies. Pocahontas was behind Snow White, Aladdin, Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, Beauty and the Beast, Frozen, and The Little Mermaid but beat all the rest, including Tangled and Brave. In fact, it was just slightly less watched than The Little Mermaid as seen here.

https://www.statista.com/statistics/879811/most-popular-disney-princess-movies-in-great-britain/

Pocahontas is a Disney classic or semi-classic. Nobody says that about Raya. That film came and went with little fanfare and was promptly forgotten. There's no nostalgia for it since it doesn't come from one of Disney's big eras. And even in terms of characters, like I said above, Pocahontas is a household name. You can go all over the world and people have heard of Pocahontas. Raya is a completely new character and if you asked somebody on the street about her, they'd probably shrug their shoulders. These new Disney movies don't have the iconic status or goodwill the old ones did. Out of the new princesses, really only Rapunzel and the Frozen girls took off and Moana to a lesser extent, but she doesn't sell as much merch as they do. Like Pocahontas, she's not quite as marketable.

Merida had a big boom of merch in the beginning but she somewhat fizzled out over the years. Brave is also considered one of Pixar's lesser films and never got the hype that Inside Out or even Coco did. Hence why it was never given a sequel or franchise. Her early status was more based on being the anti-princess but these days, Disney makes all their heroines out of the anti-princess mold so she doesn't stand out anymore.

Lego has experimented quite a bit this year with untested concepts. Wish, and the Clamshell…

I take it Snow White cottage sold well - it was backordered at one point.

I have no objection seeing her in a CMF. Together with Merida.

Yes, I bought it a couple weeks ago and it was backordered. It's being delivered today so I'm waiting for the delivery guy :)

Wish was more Lego making sets for a new release, which they typically do. After how badly the film and its merch did, I can see Lego skipping future new Disney releases like how they skipped Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny. The clamshell I heard was more Disney than Lego. Disney was trying very hard to push that particular film.

That's good to hear.

With the Lego Ideas Pixar set approved, I wonder if we might get some minifigs like Merida.

Tell us what you think about it. It's one of my fav sets.

I haven't built it yet, but I really like the set. It's the most expensive set I've ever bought, but I want to support Lego for doing such an iconic Disney set with so many minifigures. The only problem I have so far with Snow's Cottage is how big the box is. That's the problem of buying online, you don't get the scope of the size of things. I like to keep the boxes, but I'm not sure where I can storage this one .

After seeing the new costume for Moana in the sequel, I wonder if Lego could do a new CMF series with characters that we have but in their alternate costumes. Of course, I would prefer a new series with all new characters, but the costume variants could be an interesting option:

  1. Moana (Moana 2)
  2. Elsa (Frozen 2)
  3. Anna (Frozen 2)
  4. Aladdin (Prince Ali)
  5. Belle (village dress)
  6. Ariel (human form)
  7. Tiana (blue dress)
  8. Aurora (Briar Rose)
  9. Stitch (Elvis)
  10. Jack Skellington (Sandy Claws)
  11. Hercules (Go the distance)
  12. Baymax (armour)
  13. Mulan (warrior)
  14. Elastigirl (original suit)
  15. Mr Incredible (original suit)
  16. Ursula (Vanessa)
  17. Genie (free version, with legs)
  18. Mickey (Little brave tailor)

I would kill for a original suit Mr. Incredible. I have the car, I need the driver.

It's really odd we never got Golden Age Mr. Incredible and Elastigirl. Would love to see minifigs of them in their original costumes, since we got those in the Lego Incredibles game.

I'm hoping when Incredibles 3 comes out, we get some legacy sets with it, like an Omnidroid set, a Golden Age set, or an island set with Mirage.

That would be nice although if they didn't make legacy sets for the release of Incredibles 2, I'm not sure if they'll do it for Incredibles 3.

What I always found rather jarring was that even for Incredibles 2, they never bothered to make a minifig of Elastigirl in her new silver costume. Even though that's her new costume and what she wears during the helicopter scene but the Lego set keeps her in the classic red.

I also liked their vacation minifigs from the Lego game. Would love to see those in a set.

An image of the new January Cinderella castle set is out and there's a new Lucifer. Not sure if it's a new mold as I don't follow the Friends animals closely, but he's in a more laying down position than the current one where he's very upright. He looks to have the same kind of Friends style expression, but the pose does look more movie accurate to me.

Looks like the new-ish but not brand new Friends Persian mould that has already come in four iterations: grumpy, tongue out, space suit and orange.

It's one of my favourite Friends animal moulds since it's just so cute and cuddly looking!

Ah okay thank you. The shape kind of looked familiar from when looking through Bricklink stores, but I really couldn't say for certain. I think it works well for Lucifer so I'm glad they've made use of the mold.

Lucifer looks slightly less cartoony than his original figure so I might pick up this set once clearer pics come out. This mold suits his size better for sure.

Also looks like Cinderella has the darker blonde hairpiece from the 2025 polybag.

EDIT: I just read this set is $80! That's insane for its size. It should be half the price. If I like Lucifer, I'll just BL him.

Hei Hei has leaked and many are saying it’s the best retail buildable character ever! I agree that he looks great.

Moana 2 has mixed reception but it’s making oodles of money. Im hoping we at least get Kotu (maybe with a new mould?) and mini dolls of Matangi and Hele. :)

Heihei looks good. I wish we had a good hehei minifigure like Pua. I also hoped for a new Maui. It's too expensive to buy him alone second hand.

I think Disney and Lego missed some opportunities with Inside Out 2 and Moana 2. They should have made more sets to benefit from this huge franchises. I hope they don't make the same mistake next year with Zootopia 2.

I read the reactions to Hei Hei over on reddit too and I have to say I think it's well deserved. When the page loaded this morning and I first saw the picture I saw Hei Hei instantly. Not that I think Dobby is actually bad at all, but Hei Hei really does capture the character to me. Rocket Racoon on the other hand ... that guy's been through a lot and it shows. If it wasn't for the fact that I have nowhere to put a buildable rooster I'd been tempted as I do love the character.

Wonder if we’re gonna get any minifigs for any character in 2025?

Well, Nani and Lilo's house is coming in March—so definitely another Stitch, along with Lilo and Nani.

Hopefully also more characters though, like Bubbles or David (and maybe even Jumba, Pleakley or Gantu).

Two of the summer Disney sets will be 101 Dalmatian related according to leaks: 43271 Lucky and Penny Puppies $24.99 and 43269 101 Dalmatian Puppies 18+ $139.99

I feel like this may be another Simba situation where we get a 'child friendly' set with two buildable puppies and then an 18+ set with more detailed builds of a couple, maybe three puppies. If this is the case and they include minifigure versions of the chosen puppies using the CMF mold that what be cool.

If they do a minifig version of that, they better give us 99 of the puppies and two adults. It's the only proper way to do it!
