Love the set! I knew the moon would be included in the set proper since it can be seen in the “blueprint” on the back, but I’m still not sure how they’ve done it. Seems to be made of cardboard?

And yeah, it’s definitely Dumbledore’s hairpiece on Sally. Weird.

I think it might be a giant thin plastic, closer to a piece of cloth or sail, disc held on by some ball joint connector pins in the back of the hill. Easy to take off if you don't want the moon but easy to attach with limited connections.

The set looks great, but there are some clear compromises from the original idea. In some areas it's far more polished, but I really loved the crookedness of the original house, although I must admit, I've never seen the movie, so don't know which is more accurate. I suspect this is the perfect catalyst to watch it later in the year though.

After having better seen the set, I wish there was a second smaller set with only the left side of the whole building. I mean, the side with the spiral mountain and the moon with maybe just Jack and Zero. That would be a perfect smaller set for me.

I saw on twitter that the moon is a foil, looks really good  https://x.com/PoshHammer/status/1823333329006965019

I still feel bummed about the hairpieces, lego has been dropping the ball on them lately in a bunch of themes.

This might be my favorite Ideas set yet

Also, seeing the reaction on social media, seems it will be a huge hit

The only nitpick of course have to be the absence of Oogie Boogie

Looking forward to the Brick Fanatics interview with the designers. I'm genuinely curious to see the process behind some of the choices and if Oogie Boogie was ever on the board to begin with.

This set performing well is a foregone conclusion. TNBC is a merchandise juggernaut, not only around Halloween or Xmas. I experienced it first-hand last year when I cosplayed as Jack at the MCM in both London and Birmingham. Never before was I asked for that many pictures, and people of all ages recognised the character, even 4-5 year olds!

By the way, last year there was the Hocus Pocus set and now this one...

I wonder if this might start a new tradition of releasing a horror themed set each year for Halloween. Similar to the Winter Village

Perhaps they could make a GWP, or a small follow up set with Oogie. I do think GWP is unlikely as we probably have heard of this by now.

Not a bad idea. What big seasonal sets do they have going on now? Just CNY and Xmas?

I’m still waiting for in-house Halloween-themed Winter Village-style sets!

Since Halloween is the second popular holiday in USA (Christmas is the first, if you ask me) I don’t mind new in-house spooky themed series like Winter Village and Lunar New Year series.  I would love to see a bunch of buildings that are filled with monsters and trick-or-treaters like Winter Village (Santa, elves, and non-fantasy people)!.

Imagine if we get a Coco set for next Halloween. We already have minifigures for Miguel, Ernesto and Dante, but they could add Hector, Imelda, Pepita...

It is, but some do start to celebrate it on October 31st so there is a slight overlap with Halloween depending on if you start celebrating the night before or only on the day of November 1.

Two spooky Ideas sets getting launched in two consecutive years is not enough to establish a pattern, especially with Ideas being the wildcard it is. That said, I wouldn’t mind a Halloween counterpart to the Winter Village subtheme, but I doubt these two sets are the start of that

I'll compromise for another Halloween themed CMF wave. Need to fill out Halloween Town now.

TNBC does seem to have enough cross-cultural appeal that it could potentially get its own CMF series. I'm seeing a lot of comments about how the townspeople should have been minifigs and there's certainly enough of them to fill up an entire wave. Could include Dr. Finkelstein and Jack as Sandy Claws as well, not to mention Oogie Boogie.

Gotcha I prefer to call it “Day of the Dead” over “Halloween” for Mexican culture myself,.

Last night, in my dream, there wa a rumor about Lego Beauty and the Beast set. It had me excited so I woke up and visited here. Disappointed, there is no info about Beaut and the Beast.

Lego, come on, give us Beauty and the Beast set/miniigure already!!

I'm not sure if this has been mentioned before, but apparently some footage of D23 leaked and there are some Lego shorts coming for Pixar properties like Cars, Incredibles, Brave, Finding Nemo and Coco. Now the latter 3 aren't anything too special, as we've seen them pop up like that in sets or the cmf series recently, but the other 2 are pretty weird, as we haven't seen them for a while. Mr Incredible also once again looks like he does in the game rather than in the sets. It's interesting to say the least. Then again, they aren't using set Grogu for the Star Wars stuff either, so it probably doesn't mean anything.

Thankfully I'm not too much for a fan of TNBC; I don't have a desire to buy it!

Also I've just had a look at the Lego retiring sets this year, there are a lot of Disney sets that are retiring this year, so I'll encourage you all to have a look and buy it before it runs out! I've purchased the celebration set recently because of this

Really looking forward to hearing news on the ideas set/future leaks/CMF rumours. Fingers cross for some minifig sets that aren't too expensive lol

I wonder if we will see a set tied to the new Moana film...

There are none rumoured yet. Maybe next summer? The issue is that it was initially supposed to be a straight-to-streaming film, and the shift to a theatrical release was too sudden for sets to be designed in time :shrug_oh_well:
