*In Batfleck voice* WHY DID YOU SAY THAT NAME?

The wrath of the Aslume aside, IIRC the games are M rated so lego wouldn't make direct sets. Something like the batsuit design is the most we'd get, and we have gotten it.

Only Arkham Knight was M rated, the others were T.

And AK wasn't even that much more violent or swearing-filled, it was just because of Scarecrow's ugly mug.

t got an M rating because of certain scenes like Jason being tortured, that one Batman interrogation scene with the Batmobile, and of course Professor Pyg. Rocksteady wasn't intending to give it an M rating, it just happens that their were some disturbing scenes that it had to get an M rating. Rocksteady didn't want to remove them because it would hurt the story if they weren't there, so they decided to go with the M rating.

You always say TLG won't make sets from M-rated or adults films. BUT still they made for example the Shadow Box. So violent and scary.

Parents need to know that Batman Returns is darker and more kill-happy than the previous installment, the 1989 original film. Crooks wearing giant skull-head masks run amok at a Christmas-tree lighting ceremony. Selena suffers a breakdown, during which she destroys her apartment. The Penguin threatens Schreck…

I gotta stop feeding this, but c'mon. You know this.

Someone online saying batman returns is spooky doesn't make it R-rated. It wasn't spooky enough to avoid mcdonalds toys, and while there was backlash at the time it's not nearly as dark as The Batman or the Dark Knight Trilogy. We've been over this a billion times. The difference is the actual rating, not how mature someone thinks it is. Batman returns is PG-13. It can get sets. The Snyder cut is R. It can't.

That's good to know- I suppose Asylum or City sets would be possible then. Still don't think they're all that likely- as much as the fans love the arkham games, they don't have the general adult appeal of the films.

As for Knight though- that's a hard stop from lego. They don't do explicitly M, R, or TV-MA rated stuff willingly. The Arkham-based suit in the batmobile might be the closest we've gotten, but even then the logo, while pretty similar, doesn't say Arkham.

IIRC, that is the Arkham Knight batsuit (the gold belt is a dead giveaway). Asylum and City are more set friendly anyway, and most of the villain designs from Knight (sans Crane and Todd) work for the other games too.

Still waiting on my LB3/AA Killer Croc.

Basically the same reason Halo's OT got M ratings, scare factor.

In addition to the RC Batmobile someone mentioned, a couple of the 2013 sets were very loosely inspired by Arkham--well, the one set and a Mr. Freeze minifigure--but the accuracy isn't great. Mr. Freeze doesn't have goggles, and the Arkham facade is really just a passing resemblance to the Asylum in the first game.

I don't think it's likely to happen because, beloved as they are, these are video games and Lego is still pretty selective. The Arkham series also isn't exactly what it was 10 years ago. A high budget sequel of sorts releasing this year would make this the reasonable time to do it, but that flopped and the future of the developer is in question. But if BTAS and Ocarina of Time can get sets after 30/25+ years, who knows, maybe someday there will be an Arkham Brickhead or a Batman bust or something. :P

You better not watch the Looney Tunes, you might get a panick attack with all the violence in that cartoon

Unironically Daffy Duck as Green Lantoon was peak fiction. Why won’t Warner Bros make a Looney Toons Justice League Movie?!!

MAGAZINE GIFT

we get small bike but NO minifigure ...

That’s the way it tends to be for most Licensed Lego Magazines. Most come with builds only a few come with figs. The only magazine that I think gets figs every month is Ninjago.

It’s come to my attention that we’ve been sane for a week now. Do we want rectify that? Or leave our sanity be?

Because they actually are stupid!

Superrabbit, Wonder Bunny, Batcat, Tasmanian Flash, Green Loontern, Cypork, and The Martian would be an absolute unit!

Way better than any so called "Justice League".

For real. Zaslav cancelled the completely finished Coyote vs ACME movie despite it screentesting very well, for crying out loud. But what can you expect from the ultra moron that gave the world Honey Boo Boo…

Niche as it might be, DC and Looney Tunes crossover characters featuring in a follow-up CMF series would be awesome. Green Loontern was a playable character in LEGO Batman 3 after all, and we‘d have a lot of the necessary parts thanks to the first series!

Agreed. Maybe the real Aslume were the WB executives we hated along the way.

Road Runner should be Flash, Tasmanian Devil should be Red Tornado and Tina Russo should be Hawkgirl. Elmer Fudd as Lex Luther, Wile E. Coyote as Captain Cold and Yosemite Sam as Sinestro.

They really cancelled Batgirl, even though it had a higher test score than Black Adam, because they thought that the Rock would really change the hierarchy of power in the DC universe.

It would have been interesting to see how that film turned out. Especially since quite a few big-shot actors were attached to it. But no, Warner Bros blatantly mishandled the franchise yet again. And it would have probably received a set if hadn’t been cancelled!

That makes more sense on paper, but Taz is Flash because of the Funko series we got a while back.

Tina should be Star Sapphire

Foghorn Leghorn should be who? Shazam? "Shazam! I say, I say, SHAZAM!!!

Lukewarm take, I'm actually happy Batgirl got cancelled. Especially considering how other DCEU projects have gone (*coughFlashcough*). The whole movieverse was a mishandling of the franchise.

Also, I need a source for that  good test score, because I heard the first screenings didn't go so well.

I never said the test score was good. It was mediocre at best. I just said that it scored higher than Black Adam.

I’m so sad that we’re never going to get *Title Card* sets. Hopefully one day Lego will make a CMF of all the more mature superhero franchises they haven’t done.

They could include: *Title Card*, an updated Deadpool, Injustice characters and maybe even characters like Homelander and Arkham Batman.

But they won’t. Which I’m at peace with at this point. And I know that I’m silly for wishing for such things.

I’m also at peace with the possibility that Lego DC is dead and may never come back. Lego DC is gone. Lego Batman is all that remains.

We have Arkham Batman, Injustice is not Rated M, I feel you on the rest, though. I remember one of the pad-printed custom places had Atom Eve and Invincible back in the day. I never even knew the comics existed until the show came out, but I knew Atom Eve from that custom.

Now that I think about it, that CMF you fantasize would come with, at a minimum: Invincible, Atom Eve, Omni-Man, Homelander, Billy Butcher, Starlight, Movie Deadpool, Movie Cable, Movie Colossus, Arkham Knight, AK Scarecrow, Kick-A**, Hit Girl, Spawn, and Hellboy. There's no way that's ever happening, but a man can dream.

I can add Hugh Campbell, James Stillwell, Big Daddy, Frank D'Amico, Arthur Fleck, Murray Franklin, Dragonfly, the Hourglass...

Returning to the Victor Zsasz topic, I came to the conclusion he probably won't be realised as a physical minifigure - his last appearance was in the portable version of 2012 Lego Batman 2. Though if Dominic Toretto's minifigure can exist without his signature cross, Zsasz's potential minifigure may exist without the tally mark scars, IMHO.

I studied TLBM screenshots, and it's quite possible a subtle reference to Professor Pyg appeared in the movie... But I doubt they could possibly go beyond that.

Something tells me TLG realised at least one set based on something R-rated at some point... But I might be mistaken, and their policies had been consistent all the time. Do the old 6563 and 1687 sets really count? They didn't directly refer to anything specifically, but it's quite obvious what whas going on there...
