I mean, I'd take a Superman CMF series in general. Not jazzed about movie designs, I collect comic figs more, so a Superman CMF with comic versions of Lois, Jimmy, Metallo, Parasite, a few other rogues, Maggie Sawyer and the Kents, I'd be a very happy camper. Throw Guy in there somewhere (like literally just throw him in a box ) and you have the perfect CMF! 27 minutes ago, CloneCommando99 said: I’d take it. Swap Lex with literally anyone other than Zod and I'm sold (I know he's the villain in the movie, but he's basically the only Superman villain we have ) Spoiler And because someone will have the irresistible urge to point it out, yes, I'm well aware of Darkseid, Brainiac, Zod, and Lobo. But what I was getting at is that star wars call it's new Continuity Canon when canon is a word that means ( well close enough in this context) continuity and theres already an existing continuity so it needlessly confusing ( which I was trying to point out in the marvel thread) . I think they should've called Canon legends, called Legends Myths and made a new third one that's just books and call it Fables. Quote

I think instead of a corporate "Order 66" of established lore, Star Wars should've gotten it's own Flashpoint event. I'm joking, of course. I don't mind the Canon and Legends designations, they're simple enough. Legends, Myths, and Fables on the other is a bit confusing. Besides Legends sounds cooler than Canon, quite fitting for the stories contained within. Quote

You seem to be forgetting that KK has produced, and therefore been involved with, all of Disney Star Wars. Whilst quite a bit of it is bad/ mediocre there is still some good stuff she’s had a hand in. For example: Rebels, Rogue One, CWS7, the Mandalorian seasons 1-2, Bad Batch, Andor and Ahsoka. And don’t forget she worked on the first 3 Indiana Jones films. Which were perfect. The real perpetrators are the likes of JJ Abrams and Rian Johnson. My point is that, whilst she has done some things that she should definitely be called out for (green-lighting TROS for one), you can’t just blame her for everything that’s gone wrong with Star Wars. As that’s forgetting that she has done a lot of good things with the brand. And besides, many of the poor decisions came from the Disney higher ups themselves. Anyway I digress. DC tries to reboot DC universe. They start with "most famous" read oldest hero. They WON'T include Batman at all. MAYBE... just maybe they will succeed. Probably 50/50 change. Superman could be interesting BUT he is OP. So... mmm... difficult situation. ... We might see new DC CMF line-up a bit later. Let say 3-5 years time. And maybe 33 % on figures are related to Superman. BUT if movie is super popular, classic, they might change plans a bit. Superman figures, how many in LEGO? Batman figures, how many in LEGO? ... that is harsh reality. Quote
Agent Kallus Posted June 6, 2024 Posted June 6, 2024 (edited) Where to watch Suicide Squad ISEKAI: Season 1 UK? We aren’t aware of any way to watch Suicide Squad ISEKAI: Season 1 in the United Kingdom. If we’ve got that wrong, please contact us. Sigh this is why I like that Marvel and Star Wars have all thier shows on D+. Where DC shows end up in the UK end up is often very random and very late. I remember supporting campaigns for infinity train ( Not DC but still WB) and Young Justice S3 only for them to go unreleased in the UK for years. ( And I still haven't finished either season yet, I'm doing a rewatch of 1 and 2 of YJ before I watch the rest of 3, and infinity train isn't the highest priority for me right now even though I still wanna see it soonish) 16 minutes ago, CloneCommando99 said: Right. I very much agree, I've enjoyed more of Disney SW than I haven't. The only major Blemish imo is the actual sequel trilogy and the only one of those I actively dislike is episode 9. And honestly Bob Iger is more of a culprit for that in some ways as it was his executive decision for them to release a movie every year which led to the terribly rushed trilogy that I have mixed feelings on, like the first 2 movie are decent but they went in a pretty boring direction from the get go. 9 minutes ago, legoturtle said: DC tries to reboot DC universe. I do actually think that in terms of Fame Batman and Superman are about in particular, but Batman's supporting cast, enemies, city and storylines are generally more famous than Supes. Superman needs attention more than batman as Batman's last film was a banger and highest praise I can give MoS is mixed bag. And though they won't include batman in the first movie there are big plans in place for him, plans that very much excite me. Edited June 6, 2024 by Agent Kallus Quote

Point 2 doesn't really make one better than the other. 3 is to miss some of the best moments from Justice League and Justice League Unlimited. 4 has to include the storylines where Batman had powers. 5 is redundant when Superman doesn't need gadgets. 6 is debatable. A man who is the ultimate immigrant and more powerful than anyone else on the planet does everything he can to be the best person he can be while elevating others, Vs an unfathomably rich man who can't let go of how he became orphaned. 7 again he doesn't need them. 8 Batman's origin is a recognised trope, Superman's was specifically devised to reflect the American Dream, and it's a matter of opinion. 9 name five Superman villains that can't beat Batman. 10 Superman doesn't need gadgets or a ridiculous bank balance. Anyone can claim anything if you twist it the right way. Quote

Luuke is just a quick written shorthand that flows better in writing than constantly going "the clone of Luke" or "Luke's clone". All indications are that was only used for single clones, and the others were named- In fact, I remember there being clones in the follow up duology and while it's been awhile since I read it I'm pretty confident they had names, and that they weren't things like Coooooooovell. 5 hours ago, CloneCommando99 said: Morally superior to Batman I speak about this more later but I think it's not brought up enough. Aside from the surface level of "a human- even a super rich one- is more relatable than an immensely powerful alien", the general character of batman is more relatable in my opinion. Everyone's dealt with loss, everyone feels anger. Batman says himself that deep down he doesn't think he's a good man (though that's debatable). He has his no-kill code because he's worried he wouldn't be able to stop himself if he started. Superman doesn't have a no-kill rule, because he's confident he can reserve final judgement for when it's absolutely neccesary. Superman doesn't deal with moral struggles in the same way batman does- and I don't think he should. I don't think we should see superman descend down the dark paths, I don't think we need to see him beating people to a pulp for information or shutting himself off from his loved ones. He's not meant to be someone we relate to as someone we are, but as the best of what we can be. He's like Captain America or Optimus Prime (coincidentally all red and blue leaders), he's less of a relatable flawed man and more of an ideal to strive towards. Quote

Nathan is Hal and I cannot get over how you fumble a casting that badly. Not your point but I had to. Bats: Lantern. Hal Fillion: I say Ro-day-o Bats: Report! I love those movies. Debating who's more relatable between Supes and Bats is the miss the whole point of either character. Superman is super, yes, but he still gets up, goes to work, has a deep and often complicated relationship, and at the end of the day, he's a humble farmboy from Kansas. Under all the superpowers, Kal-El of Krypton is just Clark Kent from Smallville. Batman on the other hand, is super rich, has a butler, a mansion, and all the cool toys one could dream of, but under all that money and pseudo-charm, he's a traumatized and lonely man, who would rather comfort the forgotten of Gotham than sit in a boardroom. Pretends to push everyone away, yet secretly enjoys their company because he has no genuine social skills. Super or not, born here or not, all these characters are human deep down. Which is I absolutely love Superman and Batman. Especially when the writers get it right. I've been on a Superman journey recently, so don't mind me. I agree with you, btw, just wanted to say that Superman is also relatable in his own way. Also I read Batman: Hush this weekend, and the whole "deep down, he's a good person, and deep down, I'm not" is sad because it really shows you how depressed Batman is as a character. Also jarring because I grew up watching Adam West. Quote

Ladies and gentlemen of the jury If they want so much half a chance, I will gladly oblige... Should they do so much as earn it!! Behaviour like this will only drive people to piracy! ( Do not ask me how I watch the Mandalorian Season 1) Disney might receive a fair amount of chagrin but they are simply doing better than WB at this, D+ is available in 150 or so countries, HBO MAX is only in 61. Maybe DC could be better hands as this far from WB's only sin, assembled peers I ask you to think back to the Batgirl movie fiasco!
