I think we can all agree that, especially recently, most of the sets are somewhere between lacklustre and plain bad. I get the urge to be a completionist, but... is it really worth it? Don't you ever want to just stop, and collect the sets you actually really like (unless you somehow like them all )?

I don't have many (although I'm also not hugely active in this thread, so...). It was the 1989 Batmobile that got me interested, so I have that and the 1989 Batwing. The minifigure versions of them (promo and retail set for the Batobile). I love the style of the Burton films and BTAS, so I wasn't interested in much otherwise. Having said that, I did get the minifigure scale 1960 Batmobile, and then the Tumbler. And then people said that the UCS Tumbler was a good build, so I got that too... I'll get the BTAS Batmobile and really tempted by the Gotham skyline. But it will have to be a really good set for me to buy any more. I can't really see them improving on any of the current vehicles, and I don't think there are others in the canon that are appealing to me. A decent Wayne Manor, Batcave, and maybe an Arkham Asylum (for the gothic vibes) would be interesting. But otherwise, bizarrely, given the line, the last couple of years may well be peak LEGO Batman!

Wasn't into Lego until 2009, so I missed the boat on the original Batman sets. My first was the Catwoman Catcycle City Chase from 2012. From there, I got the Lex Luthor Power Armor, Aquaman on Ice, Black Zero Escape (which I bought to get the Robin Cycle from ToysRus), 2014's main catalogue of Penguin Face-Off, Riddler Chase, and Joker Steam Roller, Green Lantern vs Sinestro, Clash of Heroes from BvS, Gotham City Cycle Chase, Knightcrawler and Atlantis sets from Justice League, Mr. Freeze Batcycle Battle, and Battinson and Catwoman Cycles. From there, I own most of the polybag figures (Nightwing, Trickster, MM, Plastic Man, Cosmic Boy, Jessica, Batman '92), the Create You Own Adventure book with John Stewart, the Cyborg and Wonder Woman dimensions packs, Superboy target figure, Green Arrow from Dimensions, Mister Freeze, Riddle Racer, Batmobile, Lowrider, Fearful Face-Off, and Cave Pod from TLBM, as well as several of the CMFs. Other than that, I've bricklinked and ebay'd a ton of the figures I'm missing, slowly completing the collection that way.

I just have some TDKT sets, some Keaton sets including the Shadow Box and that's about it, although I have most of ever Batman Villian and related character and I bricklink a few DC figures now and again Oh and I have all The Batman 2022 wave, I love that movie
June 24, 2024Jun 24 So we have set pics of Superman and Mister Terrific now. Superman looks a lot brighter and Mister Terrific looks terrific. If we get figures of them they’ll definitely both be usable as comic versions.
June 24, 2024Jun 24 Oh boy, this suit is actually peak! No idea how they've messed up the initial reveal so much. No more dark blue, which is awesome. Hope they print the symbol on the cape tho, would be a missed opportunity if LEGO just ignored it (especially now that they use plastic capes).

I am looking forward to seeing what Guy and Hawkgirl look like, considering how good and comic-accurate these ones are! 19 minutes ago, THELEGOBATMAN said: Hope they print the symbol on the cape tho, would be a missed opportunity if LEGO just ignored it (especially now that they use plastic capes). LEGO is not using plastic capes across the board, though, and there is not enough evidence right now to say that they are phasing cloth out entirely. That said, Superman’s cape connects at the neck in the same way that the Asgardian cape piece does, so I can see it potentially being used. As an aside, if we get Superman sets, LEGO needs to give us printed and dual-moulded legs!
June 24, 2024Jun 24 I will pray to whatever Lego gods exist to get Mr. Terrific as a Minifigure. Edited June 24, 2024Jun 24 by Buckethead
June 24, 2024Jun 24 “Oh it’s beautiful.” - Director Osrson Krennic Superman looks perfect. We won lads!! He has vibrant red trunks. The Snyder-bros lost. Mister Terrific looks good as well. Though I’m not too bothered about him. Now. Where is Guy Gardner?! He better have his classic white belt. And large GL symbol on the side. (However, this might be a hot-take but I think that Guy’s outfit in Injustice was peak so I wouldn’t mind that. Anyone else?)
June 24, 2024Jun 24 saw the photos. What the megabluck is that? It looks nothing like Superman, since when has he had a cape? Or worn red for that matter, he's supposed to have blue skin too, at this point I doubt he's even gonna have his electricity powers
June 24, 2024Jun 24 What I want: dark azure and red colours, new torso print (with a beautiful yellow belt), dual-moulded legs with printed underwear, and a cape with a printed symbol (a moulded one could work well because of its shape) What LEGO will give us: blue and red colours, new torso print... maybe printed underwear instead of just a red hip piece They messed up Battinson so much that I don't have any hope honestly. The suit is really simple, but requires a lot of effort from LEGO, which they just don't have for DC. Maybe I'm being a bit pessimistic, but I really hope they don't mess this one up.

June 24, 2024Jun 24 That new suit looks awesome! Hope it translates well into a minifig, same with Mr Terrific If the costumes all look this good, we‘re in for a treat!

No sets, Batman reigns supreme 2. No sets, Batman reigns supreme, BUT Superman appears in a single set (re-used comic version) 3. We get a single set with Supes, Lois and Lex (and a generic vehicle) 4. We actually get a full wave with various superheroes and supervillains

Comicbook accurate costumes and character designs often are a bit of a damned-if-you-do-damned-if-you-don‘t type thing Fans are miffed when movie costumes deviate too much from the source material, and general audiences are put off by the more out-there designs, unless they‘re played for laughs. In this case, I think the mask looks fine. We need to see it in the context of the film to properly judge it though!

This is just actual Superman chilling downtown. Mr Terrific isn't quite doing it for me- the face/mask is fine, I always just imagined him looking older and having shorter hair- but getting him at all is a win, especially getting one with the T mask. 5 hours ago, Buckethead said: I will pray to whatever Lego gods exist to get Mr. Terrific as a Minifigure. But that's a big if.

I really wasn't a fan of how much the movie changed things from the Injustice comics without any good reason

The panels with Flash are the only favorited comic panel in my camera roll on my phone. My guesses for 2025 Superman sets: Option 1: None Option 2: Superman and maybe Lex and Lois in a batman set Option 3: A superman construction figure Option 4: A wave of three sets- a construction figure, a small set with Superman, Lois, and the Engineer (Or Lex), and a larger set with Superman, the Engineer (Or Lex), and at least a few leaguers.

Over 3000, not counting CMFs I have two rooms entirely dedicated to my collection, a big one with all the movie/TV-based sets, and a small one with all the game-based stuff. The split was made earlier this year Unlicensed stuff is either in boxes or in the living room But yeah, I’ve never looked at a DC set and thought it wouldn’t be worth it. Sure, the 4+ sets aren’t exactly my cup of tea, but I still buy them since they have nice prints, the minifigs often have something exclusive about them, and I can’t stand gaps in my collection
