ASLUME (formerly Batman (DC Superheroes) 2024 - Rumors & Discussion)

It's a really cute wave, I like those sets—but I hope that's just the appetiser before we get to the truly good stuff (Superman sets, a nice D2C, the June wave).

The Batmobile set is cute. The build is coherent and looks good for a 4+ set. I like Freeze and his colour scheme.

The Tumbler is, well, another Tumbler. Can't tell if it's an improvement over the 2021 model though. I still don't like this Joker—no leg printing, bright hair, wrong hairpiece.

Two-Face looks... bad. I don't like this minifigure—the facial expression compared with the swept-up hairpiece makes him look like a 20-year-old. The burnt torso print needlessly continues to the waist, making the minifigure feel plain without leg printing—even though in the movie it's just the upper part that's burnt!

Seeing the Superman mech is a surreal feeling—the box even has a Superman logo instead of the Batman one! Superman looks good, surprised to see a fabric cape. No undergarments though—hopefully they fix that for the movie. Lex Luthor actually looks fantastic, he even has leg printing! Love the shoulder pads, and the return of his iconic faceprint (I know it's technically not his primarily, but he's the character I associate it with).

Lex looks great. Definitely the stand out figure of the bunch. It’s still crazy to me that out of the seven appearances he’s made there hasn’t been a single repeat (and depending on the movie set, that might jump to eight.)

Superman looks good. I love the new torso print with the shield-shaped belt buckle. I don’t understand why he has plain blue legs and not red hips. Between him and Cyclops I’m starting to wonder if Lego has some sort of aversion to hips and legs not being the same color.

Joker looks fine. There’s nothing new this figure adds that wasn’t done better back in 2015.

I get what they were going for with Mr Freeze. This figure is not for me. It looks like he’s wearing a strapless gown and has big knockers.

Someone else here has said Two-Facw looks like a twenty year old and I can’t think of a better way of putting it. He looks like he’s twenty years old with a stupid haircut and really severe acne but only on half of his face. I think cheekbones and dark gray on his burnt half would have helped tremendously.

It is difficult to make out details on the sets themselves (primarily the Tumbler), but these look pretty good! The Supermech is basically what I was expecting, though it appears to have a jetpack rather than anything to suggest a cape.

The Minifigs also look good, though they are hurt by the lack of leg printing (especially Two-Face and Joker), and Superman should at least have gotten dual-moulded legs - Not all versions have the trunks, but but Superman always has red boots! I do like that he has a new torso, since it honestly would not have surprised me if LEGO just reused the old one.
Lexavier is probably the most well-designed ‘fig of the wave, and he looks excellent; I do wish that we had gotten Dark Trooper armour to bulk him up a bit, and the transparent shoulders look a bit odd (I get what they were going for, but solid ones would look better). That said, since the shoulder armour is available in purple from PAB, I will probably just swap it out. Overall, the Supermech is a standout - Which could mean either good or bad things for the DC theme, depending on how you look at it!

On to the Man sets, Joker looks good (printed legs would make him look better, but he can work without them), but I do get the complaints about Two-Face; I think the main issue is that TDK’s Harvey is a bit gruesome for LEGO, so he had to be toned down, which in turn made him look more awkward than horrifically scarred. I am still withholding judgement until I see better pics, and from different angles.
Mister Freeze could definitely have benefitted from dual-moulded legs, but I like his overall design (something of a modernised version of his ‘66 suit), and it seems like 4+ Man has a new torso print! Still a black suit, but he seems to have armour plates rather than visible muscles (essentially the Returns suit to the usual 4+ sets’ ‘89 suit), as well as a split belt buckle design.

I hoped they make a mold like in so many Star Wars sets. BUT still I think that Two-Face is very well made.

About Jokers hair ... well it is not 100 % similar in every scene.

There are a couple choices with the Superman fig that look a little off, so I'll probably stick with my 2018+2020 versions of him and Lex, but overall I'm glad that we're dipping into non-Batman stuff.

I'm also pretty glad that fabric capes are still being used, the pictures of Superman minifigs using Thor's new rubber cape honestly kinda gave off dictator vibes.

Hey, if you look all 3 packages... down right corner. There are Superman, Batman and what is the 3rd one?

The Tumbler uses a pic of Bale's Batman and the 4+ set uses a comic Batman, same as this one:

They also refuse to use the one with the curl.

Well, is that set from Superman (2025) movie?

So could there be a mech in the movie and hair similar to that in the LEGO set... That armour (Lex Luthor) Ould be some kind of power magic armour. Because Superman + mech against him. Is there any possibility to survive.

No. Same old, same old.

Oh well. At least this way you can make a Kingdom Come superman by using Doc Strange’s hairpiece

Guys. Are we sane now?

Of course not. We are accepting a turtle in an obvious Riddler disguise in our midst, completely ignoring that alt-accounts are strictly forbidden on EB :laugh_hard:  Does that sound sane to you?!

Please tell me that you're joking... :jollyroger:

On a happy note, I just noticed that this Two-Face minifigure looks like the Pete Holmes Badman version:

TLG seems not to consolidate the perfect balance of facial features. Remember those creepy 2014 SW minifigures with excessive facial detail (though Luke's face could've worked well for the ROTJ version)? Now Lego faces seem to lack as much detail as possible.

Also, remember when 2014 TDK Batman had an unique Bale's face under his cowl? I don't think we'll ever get anything like that in the future

Crazy how one new Superman set is enough to break Eurobricks.

Good point. BUT we hope it is not last one this year. We could get sets from Superman (2025) movie?

Could we get a building from Gotham City... for example GCPD.

Don‘t you mean Luigi‘s pizzeria? :laugh_hard:

Well that is 1 possibility and other could be Ace Chemicals... Play feature Joker falling that bowl.

The Brickreporter reposted his post about the D2C on his story with ‘keep an eye on this one’. It’s gotta be something good, I’m ready to believe again

new sets look solid, nice to see superman again. Wasn’t expecting lex to be the standout figure. Hope if they do movie sets, we’ll get leg printing and boots for Superman.

Tumbler looks decent, not sure if I’ll get full price. But Joker and Two-face are great to get. I hope the bale minfig doesn’t look too weird with the rubber cape
