Hi all. Please tell me, is there at least a small chance that next year we will see DCU sets (For example, Superman: Legacy)?

I doubt it tbh, The movie has a good chance of flopping at the box office and I doubt Lego would want to take the risk of making sets for a movie with no guarantee they will sell well. As much as I like the DC universe (Batman mostly) the brand isn't doing well besides Batman so I'll just expect The Batman 2 sets, 4+ bike and a buildable figure.

Would be pretty funny if they just gave us a Superman buildable figure lol.

I think we’ll see at least one set. Even though DC has been flopping left and right lately and Lego hasn’t been willing to take a chance, I think there’s enough interest in a Superman reboot for Lego to take a risk.

Just so we know. When FalconFan said that "The pod wasn't the 200€ set" did he mean that:

A) He knows what the 200€ set is, and it is indeed something else.

B) He was talking about the pod being the 70€ set.

Because if he only meant B, there's still a chance the 200€ set is also a batpod, no?

$200 is not a batpod

I for one am very excited about the batpod. It’s a shame we’ve never had it as an official UCS release and I wouldn’t mind a DK buildabke figure, I like bale’s suit a lot. Hopefully most of the pieces go into the batpod though…

Well, we had this one, but it was VERY exclusive...

A Superman film flopping? *huh* He‘s DC’s #2 guy, no way it‘s gonna outright flop! And even if TLG wasn‘t 100% onboard, they can‘t just unilaterally decide not to produce any sets. WB will very likely promote the **** out of this movie, so they can surely, let‘s say, convince TLG to play along

I know he's #2 after Batman but we haven't had a Superman movie since 2013 and it could be possible that the audience isn't interested in the character anymore and the demand isn't there but I hope it'll do good and that story comes first and no agenda bull**** . I really want DC to succeed since I love the animated Justice League cartoon and we really need a proper connected DC universe with no studio meddling.

They might not have wanted to. On top of that Lego's history of producing sets for films that bomb and/or suck is a thing of legend. So when they produce a line of sets to tie in with the film but are only of previous outings, that suggests to me that both parties had a significant say about sets. Disney is also not Warner, so they will have different negotiating requirements.

I wish Lego made more sets based on the DCAU. I don't totally like it (Batman Beyond being my least favourite), but it's good enough and deserves to be represented with Lego sets.

P. S.: I'm not the only one to want a TNBA Batgirl minifigure...

I'd say the Superman movie will need to make at least 700 Million in the box office to not be considered a flop. DC has hope with The Batman universe and some Elseworlds stories if the new DCU flops

A lot of set potential with animated DC shows also If Lego made a set for The Marvels (which is possibly the worst superhero movie ever made) then why wouldn't we get Superman sets.

Disney is far more influential than Warner, especially when it comes to Lego. If they din't succeed, Warner wouldn't. Unless the movie will be a success, but it's gonna be too late...

Disney has Lego by the balls, Star Wars and Marvel sell well for Lego meanwhile Warner lost the rights to the Lego Movie, and I'm pretty sure I heard something about Warner telling Lego not to make DC sets.

Do you have any proof of that? Too late for what exactly?

Too late to produce movie-based sets. They didn't know SHAZAM! would be successful, so they only realised a polybag...

Off-topic, but bold of you to say that in a world where Catwoman, Daredevil, Spawn, the 70s Captain America, Fant4stic, Morbius, and many more such masterpieces exist

We don‘t know the contractual details. For all we know, WB could be just as strict as Disney

MAXIMALLY UNPOPULAR OPINION here, but 2022 The Batman also counts. I genuinely hope Matt Reeves won't be influencing the creation process of Bruce Timm's new Caped Crusader, or else the new animated Batman will be a whiny emo boy who's gonna be humiliated throughout the entire series. The same applies to J. J. Abrams...

P. S. : I shouldn't have done that...

Glad I’m not the only one here who HATED The Batman.

Hope sets' pictures are going to leak soon...

Would you have thought an Indiana Jones movie would flop? Or a flash movie heavily featuring Micheal Keaton's batman? Or a significant chunk the MCU over just a few years?

At the end of the day, the MCU is still the MCU, even with it's steep decline. Marvel sets are always going to sell on some level by virtue of being marvel- that same apparently can't be said for non-batman lego DC in lego's eyes, since we haven't gotten any since 2020.

1) How DARE YOU, good sir, suggest that Morbius could even be in CONVERSATION with any of these films. It is the single greatest media product of all time.

2) Your general point is totally right- it's definitely a contender for the worst MCU movie (and arguably I'd put the Daredevil movie above a couple of those), but there are some movies that go far lower than "soulless CGI fest" and are somehow significantly worse.

I didn't HATE it, but you can count me in as someone who doesn't really like the direction that movie went towards the end.
