So I buy 2 DC sets. Then 2 SW sets... ?

PLEASE! I try to collect all TLBM sets. "That is my destiny... young padowan".

Just buy whatever you like.

I try to limit myself to as few sets as possible, the necessities if you will. The only theme I buy at least a single set from every wave is Ninjago.

I usually buy smaller sets (usually 20–40€, but I buy a few bigger ones every year (up to 100€), and if there's a huge set based on a property I love and know will never become a theme, I can buy that too (Stranger Things, planning on buying the D&D set too).

I have never heard of these minifigures or sets in my life. Are you okay? Are you sleeping well?

Dude, I'm joking. My last two posts included this thing called sarcasm.

Yeah, you say that. But we didn't get to 104 pages because the theme has turned to megablocks, did we?

What do you mean by „start“? 90% of us already do :laugh_hard:

I like to consider myself straight edge when it comes to Star Wars, and have no intention of falling off the wagon.

Exactly. Just buy the sets that you actually want. Not all out of a sense of being a completionist.

Just out of interest, what is your favourite Star Wars movie/ trilogy? I’ll happily give you some set recommendations if you’d like them.

I hate to be that guy, but it’s spelt “Padawan”

“It’s treason then.”

I’m joking of course, you’re entitled to your own opinion. But I’m curious, why are you that way with Star Wars? Just not your thing?

Well, Marvel sets are more WOKE. So it is good for LEGO. For example Miles Morales.

In Batman there are mostly men. White men. LEGO Marvel is easier for them.

311 vs 172

something like that :/

This has to be the funniest turn it could've taken

I enjoyed the originals, probably because of how they hark back to Saturday matinees, but never enough to go and buy some merchandise. Then Lucas meddled with his own work and started adding bits and I didn't feel that it improved them. The prequels didn't pull me in that much and the sequels were much further removed. Clone Wars got me because I'm a fan of Genndy Tartakovsky's Samurai Jack. Other than that I'm not sold on it I'm afraid.

I think we should do something about current state of LEGO DC.

Why we have gotten so many different kind of sets? Art, Box, Mecha, Brickheadz, Oversized Batpod + a big toy figure. List goes on and on...

Eight of the 12 current (or upcoming) LEGO Batman sets are currently slated to retire by the end of the year, including one that hasn't even hit shelves yet.

Or by getting in cahoots with Man, no? I heard he's secretly a billionaire.

You sure? Last I heard, Jonkler and Bone had stolen all of Man’s money.

And don’t forget that Man had to pay for all the damage that The caused in Hawaii. We absolutely sure that wasn’t Reverse The impersonating The?

And don’t forget Man has to pay for the rest of the League. Soup, Woman, Green and The have no income without Man.

Besides we’re not orphan children, Man would never choose us to become the next Bin.

Fair enough. Though if it’s good writing you want, I’d highly recommend Rogue One and Andor. Andor specifically is phenomenally well written with some brilliant acting. (Andy Serkis, Fiona Shaw and Stellan Skarsgård.)

At some points it stops feeling like Star Wars because of how grounded it gets. Not a single Jedi in sight in Andor.

You'd probably save more money buying DC than Star Wars since DC has nothing but 4+ sets and batmobiles, Star Wars on the other hand will make you go bankrupt since they release sets every few months with highly desireable figures and builds that range from 50-200$ if we're not counting UCS and in the August Wave there's 2 sets that are 170$ and 180$ so

This is why Brainiac wants to kill us all. Why Darkseid wants to strip us of free will.

This right here.

I highly doubt that's true. Maybe the 2023 sets, but what unreleased set could possibly get retired by year's end?

Perhaps it's an Indiana Jones set. I jest, but I think this is incredibly prescient of Lego to know that a set will sell so poorly that they retire it before they release it. If only they applied that logic during the design stage.

DC would be a paradise if Lego designed sets that people actually wanted.

Just for fun. Are there any specific one off outfits that the members of the Justice League have had (even in a elseworld) that you’d want to see Lego make.

Green Lantern: White Lantern Kyle Rayner

Batman: Death Metal

Superman: Injustice Yellow Lantern

Wonder Woman: Vampire (DC vs Vampires)

Flash: Blue Lantern

Black Canary: DCeased Green Canary

Robin: Red Robin

Cyborg: Grid

Judging by the declining public interest in DC as a whole, people actually don’t want sets, which is how we got where we are :laugh_hard:

Sure, they could invest a ton into the theme to satisfy us LEGO DC fans (there are dozens of us, dozens!!), but as long as general interest in the DC brand is low, I wouldn’t get my hopes up.

Ooh, interesting question!

The only thing I can think of, right now, is:

Superman: Justice Lord

I'm in love with that outfit

I know you said one off, but since you included Red Robin, I'll just post my most wanted list,

Superman: New 52, Black Suit

Wonder Woman: New 52 Trunks

Batman: The Dark Knight Returns

The Flash: Wally West (90s), Blue Lantern

Green Lantern: Kyle Rayner (90s), Parallax

Robin: Carrie Kelly

Batgirl: Cassandra Cain

Black Canary: Justice League International

Red Son everyone, Justice Riders everyone, Death Metal trinity.

Bit difficult to guage anyway, let alone when there's very little output outside of the comics at present. What are you basing this against, out of interest?

True, it's hard to estimate public interest in general. But it's exactly that, a lack of output, that makes me think the demand is not really there. The box office failure of the last seven or so DCEU films also indicates a declining interest, despite The Batman having performed pretty well; and I'm pretty sure Joker 2 won't do anywhere near as well as the first one. The true test will be Supes
