I’m so happy about all the cool DC sets we got this year. Not as diverse as last year though.

My favourite set this year has been the Hall of Justice Modular. Those Parallax, Kyle Rayner, Circe, Rorsarch, Ultraman and Wally West figs were perfect.

It was weird that we didn’t get any Batman figures this year though. The last Batman character we got was the Earth 2 Bats in that character encyclopaedia from 2 years ago. Very strange that Lego refuses to add him in any of Robin’s sets.

What are your favourite sets this year? Such a shame that Marvel’s only had 6 sets.

I can’t believe we’re finally getting a Flash museum later this year. So exciting. I can’t wait to see whether it’s based off of the comics, the Flash movie series (so hyped for Captain Cold and Flash coming out later this month), or that amazing revival of the Flash animated series from the 90’s. No matter what, Lego can take my money.

A shame they locked the flash minifig from the hit DC's Flash 2 Playstation game in a GWP. I wouldn't have minded getting multiples to recreate the flash league scene, where Flash, Kid Flash, Impulse, Trajectory, XS, Jesse Quick, Johnny Quick ( no relation) , Eobard, Jay Garrick and the surprise cameo of quicksilver all dressed as the flash to confuse the Turtle ( no relation to Lego turtle, at least afaik)

Cheeky of them to hide their DC sets in marvel boxes but a nice surprise for anyone who thought they were gonna get the umpteenth iron man suit and captain patriotism instead getting Steel and captain Boomerang.

You‘re in for a rude awakening once you wake up from your coma :laugh_hard:

These were all octember releases which might be the cause of confusion?

(all( It does seem like by and large TLG have given up on generic comic based sets. We do get odd Spider-Man ones but even those lessen in number. It's a shame, because rather than directly based on an particular version or anything those were TLG's Lego interpretations of the subject matters, which game the theme a feeling and a freedom a bit similar to an in-house action theme. I think maybe a way to sort of go back to this would be to Ninjago-ify Lego DC, give it it's own Lego DC cartoon show that uses specific Lego designs made strictly for it, with wide ranging inspirations. Give it themed seasons and a competent editing team that collaborates with set design team much like Ninjago, have minifigs introduced based on comic designs. Have a central team of characters ( I'm thinking a mix of the Bat-Fam and the teen titans would be the best shot) as the leads but with other leaguers in recurring roles ( similar to ninjas Skylor, Pixal, Dareth and elemental masters type side characters) have villains that recur but aren't always there, have villains that will join with the heroes in times of true crisis, have the sets based on the show. )seriousness)

This reminds me of the phenomenon that was DC and Marvel comics going to the same printers and the (very) odd issue appearing with not only the wrong cover but one from the rival company. Sadly far more likely than the run of sets mentioned above.

My pitch for this:

The Sensei Wu equivalent is switched around between original members of the League every season. With the core team representing the different corners of the DC universe. My core team of up-and-coming heroes would be: Kara Zor El (Supergirl), Kyle Rayner (Green Lantern), Cassandra Cain (Batgirl), Wally West (Flash), Yara Flor (Wonder Girl), Dick Grayson (Nightwing) and Kaldur (Aqualad)

Constant supporting characters: Batman as a constant mentor and Barbara Gordon (Oracle) as the P.I.X.E.L equivalent.

Pilot: The team is pulled together by  Batman to stop the Joker from conquering Gotham. (Nightwing is lead)

Season 1: The team helps Superman in metropolis to fight Braniac’s invasion. (It is a Supergirl season)

Season 2: Paradise Island has been corrupted by Circe and the team is tasked with fighting mythological monsters. (Yara Flor season)

Season 3: Central City is being attacked by Gorilla Grodd and his forces. (Ending with Wally West sacrificing himself to the speed force to save the world)

Season 4: Lazarus Tournament. The team are promised a way to free Wally from the speed force if they win the tournament. In this season we are introduced to: Damian Wayne, Jason Todd (Redhood), Slade Wilson (Deathstroke), Starfire, Raven and Beast Boy. (Cassandra Cain Season)

Season 5: War of light. (Kyle Rayner Season) season is set in space, culminating with Kyle becoming a white Lantern and saving all life in the final battle against Nekron on earth.

Season 6: Throne of Atlantis. (Kaldur season) the team must free Aquaman after Atlantis is conquered by Black Manta.

Season 7: Court of The Owls. (Cassandra and Dick season) Batman is once again fatally wounded. It’s up to the team to stop the Court.

Anti-life trilogy
Season 8: Darkseid War Part 1.  Team must prevent Darkseid and Grail from destroying all the Lantern Central Power Battery’s before the world plunges into darkness.

Season 9: Darkseid War Part 2. Apocalyptic theming. (Batman season) Half the team is stuck in various time periods.

Season 10: Rise of the Anti-monitor. The team all get Lantern Rings to aid in their fight. Culminates with Kyle merging with the Life Equation to defeat Nekron once and for all, sacrificing himself permanently in the process. Batman also sacrifices himself to save Dick. Dick becomes new Batman. Wally becomes the God of Knowledge in the aftermath. Kara and Yara go on a mission to patrol the universe.

Thoughts? And I have a few set ideas if you’d like to hear them.

I feel like DC has a brighter future than Marvel if Superman wins big at the box office and does well.

But hey I'm probably wrong and if Superman fails WB would want Zack Snyder back, And  I wouldn't mind that at all, I really want the Knightmare timeline story and a solo Batfleck movie.

…the Snyderverse is the reason DC is in the dire state it‘s in, so why on Earth would they ever want Snyder back?

There was a Flash animated series in the 90s?

That's not the plan B we'll need if Superman fails.

Sounds good! Exactly the vague sorta thing I was thinking of. I said it in all seriousness as if TLG and DC were able to collaborate on something like this I think it could very well save Lego DC, Movies be damned. And of course the sets would still have a lot of appeal to DC fans regardless of if they watch the show... On the topic of sets, yes I would be interested to hear you ideas there.

Synder enters the speed force - we see the DCEU crash as a drab monotone flaming wreck. He exits the Slo-mo force - Synder: Wanna see me do it again?

Honestly if think the best plan B is the Gun-verse fails ( which I don't think it will) is for them to pivot into a saga of animated theatrical releases. Like the DCAMU but aimed more at general audiences and little more light hearted.

There are far worse things to be than silly...

But yes I think the film will have a more comedic tone than say BvS. But it won't be an out comedy and will take itself more seriously than something like Scooby Doo: Monsters unleashed or GotG 1.

I think we need something that takes itself seriously but doesn't see being fun and entertaining as a foreign concept like BvS did.

So we got LOGO. nice.

I expressed this sentiment in the Star Wars thread but personally I think the idea of the brick built company logos is their lamest most creatively bankrupt idea yet that will result in some of the most boring products TLG has ever produced.

At first I thought "Huh, what are you even talking about?"

But then I checked the Star Wars forum and Instagram. This is genuinely one of the worst ideas for a set line I've ever seen. Just simply awful, boring and completely uninspired.

I agree.

And since you asked here’s some set ideas for the Pilot.

Cat-cycle takedown (£12.99): Batman, Catwoman and Nightwing.

Kyle’s Bane Busting Construct (£29.99): Green Lantern, Batgirl, Bane bigfig and Yellow Lantern Scarecrow. (Build is a Green Lantern Anime-inspired mech)

Gotham Portside Ambush (£89.99): Nightwing, Aqualad, Oracle, Alfred, Killer Croc, Penguin, Two-face and Clown Henchman. Build incorporates a portside section, a small batbunker with a small bat-cycle, Boatwing and a villain gunboat.

Batwing Interception (£49.99): Batman, Supergirl, Poison Ivy, Manbat and Clown Henchman. (Batwing with multiple seats and some poison Ivy plants)

Jokerized Batmobile (£49.99): Joker in a jokerized batsuit, Wally West, Yara Flor, Commissioner Gordon, Clown Henchman and Harley Quin. (Build includes a GCPD barricade)

I can generate some ideas for the rest of my season ideas as well. If you guys would like to see them that is.

Posted

Uhh, guys... those ideas are way too good for LEGO.

New Nightwing? Lanterns? Aqualad, Oracle? WALLY WEST?!

We'll be lucky if we get any sets that don't include Batman or Joker next year, yet alone any comicbook DC sets.

Next years (2025) DC sets are very basic.

There is only 1 small, tiny set where you can get Superman figure. Which is the same "old" figure. Batman sets are Batmobile, Batwing and poly bags. No BIGGER sets.

(BUT it will all change in 2026)

wait, so are you telling me out of the 11 Superhero sets coming in Jan 2025, there could be DC sets released?

11 Marvel sets in a single wave seems excessive, especially since this likely doesn’t include the two CA:BNW sets. So it’s pretty reasonable to assume that at least 2-3 of them might be DC :sweet:

A somewhat pessimistic prediction ( but still more optimistic than some). I think we can rule out a reused superman because he is  probably out of print ( then again they could replicate the existing design but that would be lame, I guess I could see that happening for a juniors set).

I could see TLG waiting till the dust has settled to start properly covering Gunn's DCU but I'd hope they'd just be ready from the word go.

Yeah, I would. The pilot being batman focused is closest to what we get usually so I'm interested to see what direction you'll take the seasons focused on other heros in.

Yara’s Wonder-cycle (£19.99): Yara Flor, Brainiac-ified Cyborg (Vic Stone) (Inspired by the Dceased design) and a Brainiac Drone. Build is the wondercycle and a Braniac barricade + turret.

Aqualad’s Atlantean Armour (£24.99): Aqualad, Supergirl, Krypto, Metallo and Braniac Drone. Build is a Mech for Aqualad.

Kyle’s Fighter-Jet construct (£49.99): Kyle Rayner GL, Supergirl, Cyborg Superman, Brainiac Drone and Jetpack Batman

Brainiac Battle Tank (£59.99): Cyborg, Batgirl, Wally West, Braniac-ified Batman (Injustice 2 inspired) and 2 Brainiac Drones.

Lex-Corp Rumble (£69.99): Lex Luthor, Superman, Nightwing, Brainiac-ified Lois Lane, Steel, Brainiac and Parasite.

Braniac’s Skull Ship (£79.99): Supergirl, Brainiac, Superman, Wally West, Brainiac-ified John Stewart GL and 2 Braniac Drones.

I will give season 2 ideas sometime soon.

I can't believe legoturtle drank the Water of Life to see the narrow way through for Lego DC.

I don't blame them for wanting to be careful. The theme's in a bad state now, but if they made a significant number of DCU sets and the movies failed, that's catastrophic for a theme this close to the edge.
