ASLUME (formerly Batman (DC Superheroes) 2024 - Rumors & Discussion)

Hi there, hello. I’m only here because of a mech for a character who doesn’t need a mech.

My take on LEGO DC this January:

First of all, it’s NOT LEGO Batman, so that’s a plus. It’s not that I don’t like Batman, but after getting one Batmobile (Tumbler), one Batwing (‘89), and one Batcave (The Batman) with three variants of Batman, what more do I need from the theme? Unless there’s Two-Face, I need him.

4+ Batmobile - A 4+ set that’s decently priced? My lord, is that legal?

I’m uninterested in any 4+ set out of the gate, but who knows what characters it could include. Definitely Batman, likely his comic variant they’ve been using recently, and probably one villain I imagine. Perhaps the set is based off BtAS, so that it’ll include Batman (with the fabric cape from the Skyline?) and Harley Quinn OR someone new, like, oh I don’t know, Two-Face?

Superman Mech - Only reason why I’m here. I hope it’s a Lex Luthor Mech vs Superman instead, but if it is a Superman mech we’ll get a cool tile print out of it (and a regular blue mech piece, something I’ve wanted to see for a long time).

My hope is that Superman has new dual-moulded printed legs to get his comic accurate trunks and boots, so that they can be reused in Superman movie sets. Lex will be a nice inclusion regardless of what they do with him—aside from a standard business suit, of course.

I’ll wait to see on how this pans out and if we’ll get rumors of Superman movie sets later on in June-August; for if so, I’ll save my money towards those sets.

$60 Tumbler - “Oh, you wouldn’t be interested in that.” This time, Lucius, you’re probably right.

What on earth is happening with this Batminflation! $60 is not, I repeat, NOT okay for a Tumbler. I love the Tumbler; I bought the 2021 version and absolutely that set. I won’t buy this new one, and nobody else should either unless this hits 30% off.

Minifigs are a, hm, wild joker in the deck. If its name includes “The Dark Knight,” then it must include TDK Batman and Joker, right? Let’s try and be hopeful here, and say they include two more minifigs—all with decent printing torso and leg printing—such as Commissioner Gordon and Two-Face? Two-Face seems like a likely choice to market this set, but let’s not forget that the UCS Tumbler had two great minifigs that many collectors would love to own, so who knows.

The ridiculous thing is, it includes the same amount of pieces as the last Tumbler (7 more, but that takes into account another minifigure) — but costs 20€ more? Beyond ridiculous. We really shouldn't support moves like that.

According to the leaks, the set includes 3 minifigures — Batman, Joker and Two-Face.

Not complain. I just want to say that LEGO hates DC. We actually get only 1 set. 4+ does not count and that mech is almost identical than the Batman mech. So very simple.

We've already had a Tumbler set too, so that doesn't count either, we actually don't have any sets coming out in January

Yeah, TLG hate DC so much, the number of sets released in 2025 is actually negative. You have to send some of the old ones back :laugh_hard:

Pray they don‘t alter the deal any further.

You know what? I don't think LEGO DC even exists. It's just a complex illusion based on our deepest desires.

Brother, does LEGO even exist? Does Eurobricks even exist? Does DC, Batman, or Warner Bros even exist? Does anything actually and truly exist?

Cogito, ergo sum.

Maybe the real LEGO DC was the friends we made along the way?

Are friends even real? and if they are, is the way even real? Is this the way? What if friends are just figments of our conscious, made up as much as we made friends with them?

*gasp* What if the Superman mech isn’t even real?

Is that it? Have we reached the last episode? An existential crisis has triggered the cataclysmic implosion of the known universe. Made a note in my diary on the way here. Simply says, "bugger".

Doesn't he need a single sided head because he's bald, and both of those have two sides?

I think Star Wars has a male single sided light nougat head in rotation for troops - maybe that one.

That’s the one! It’s been used in so many sets that I struggled to come up with one defining usage of it.

The Tom Riddle one is this one, which could also work for Hoult’s Luthor, should he get a minifigure.

I forgot I didn’t reply to this, sorry.

Agreed.

Hmm… I do need a Two-Face and TDK Joker, so I’ll probably have to eventually buy it, but for no more than $45.

That's the point, continuing the grand tradition of Lex having the most bland head possible.

Watch the superman set use a classic yellow smiley. Though I guess those are a lot more rare to see in new sets nowadays.

The best use I have found for this head is on generic/background Imperial officers and crew, since it looks remarkably like the Rebels asset for background officers!

Yeah, I tend to use it for random imperial officers and rebel troopers.

And just to pour more salt on the wound, it turns out the printed bat symbol logo bricks are double sided: https://www.instagram.com/p/C9kYXbIIh4Z/

So instead of each of them being their own separate piece it's Bronze Age/1966, '89/The Dark Knight Trilogy, and BTAS/The Batman. So if you want to have a complete set of them all standing together, you have to buy multiples.

I REALLY don't like that. On it's face it's such a penny-pinching move, because the real goal is to prevent people from buying one set for the printed tiles and bricklinking the other parts, which are pretty common, to not have to shell out more for more copies.

I can't believe THE lego batman just confirmed that the real lego batman was the jonks we made along the way.

What if THELEGOBATMAN in his 7482nd Eurobricks post says, “LEGO Batman, what a joke,” throws his profile picture away, and wears LEGO Superman's profile picture in his honor

That would certainly be...whelming!

I hope the fig in that set uses Thor's new rubber cape

As unlikely as it may be, I hope for that too. It'd look really cool. Even as an optional accessory considering the mech.

I feel like Tom's is really good, but it doesn't quite capture Luthor.

The Everyman Trooper head is just that, a goon face, perfect for miscellaneous extras.

I've used it for exactly two named characters: a fleshie city civillian, and a Rebel Commando character named Scott Prowl. It's abundance allowed me to have him in multiple battle dress uniforms (Hoth, Endor, and Jakku)

Though to be honest, I just like the idea of everyone having a name and story. A true Star Wars fan through and through.

When the mech comes out you gotta do a stock photo of supes in the mech.

Oh man, I couldn't imagine giving each rebel trooper a name and backstory. I have vauge markups for each legion (the grey RO uniforms with long rifles and dark tan endor helmets are the Mountaineering Corps, resistance trooper torsos with the buckles+ the breathing mask parts (or heads with printed filters/masks) and those same dark tan endor helmets form the Desert Corps, my Fleet Troopers are of course Fleet Troopers, I have a group of ragtags and a group of wookiees, etc), but individual troopers, I'd have to write it all down or something or I'd forget.

Guys! ... if you look what happens in DC (LIVE-ACTION MOVIES) ... you start to realise that we might even get LEGO sets from them. Without movies it is only BASIC sets. That is a FACT.

Now we must look in close eye what happens around Superman (2025) - because if it is a HIT then that will be very good news for all of us. LEGO DC is waking from coma.

The superman mech has somehow just made us even more insane. @Swordy I see that you’ve been infected. As was inevitable.

We’re never going back so sanity are we? Well I’m not complaining. This Aslume is arguably the most entertaining thread on eurobricks. Long Live the Aslume!!

If we get a comic-accurate Guy Gardner next year I will change my profile pic to Man. You guys can choose which variant.

@THELEGOBATMAN. Why is your profile superman?! Are you based?!!

Tell that to Corporal Alsco (an imperial field tech), Sargeant Ares (a stormtrooper) and Captain Cazamo of the Imperial Light Cruiser Emerald Twilight. They are currently awaiting reassignment to the ISD Cerberus (Commanded by General Nock) as soon as it has finished construction.

Turtle, Amanda Waller and Lex Luthor collab confirmed?!!!

What if Turtle is Waller, and all of their posts are to try to convince us that superpowered beings do not exist and are just a shared delusion?! All part of her plans, it would seem. . . 🤔

We're all living in the Matrix / a simulation and nothing is real. (either that or we're brains in vats, dreaming of a life)

It could also be everyone and everything is a figment of my twisted imagination... even myself. Because I think therefore I am.

Just posting for future reference:

A goon, in the relevant sense, is a henchman.

Please don't be millennials about this, this is a LEGO forum.

(I know you know that, just having fun)

I mean, I actually write, so it kinda comes natural to me. I tend to make figures to represent characters from my stories (and yes, I do fanfiction stuff also), and so thus, out of the ashes of multiple battle packs, sprang forth Mudhorn Company.
