His figure is pretty ahem, spot on for his first appearance. It's one of my favourite covers and the fig is great. When I saw that they considered Doctor Double X I was gutted, as he comes close behind PDM for me. This then leads me to the rotisserie in the Batcave. Shades of Hush. Need a Hush figure too.

The original cover is pretty great though the Polka dot man for the film has numerous differences a good chunk of them inspired by his brave and the bold appearance;

1.  Unlike the other Z-listers they didn't keep him buff
2. His black void eyes are replaced with multicoloured ones with one that make him look like he has pink eye
3. His helmet is shaped completely differently
4. The shirt is lower cut 
5. The dots are all the same size and evenly spaced
6. He was given buck teeth

In my opinion this was all for the better as while I love his original look and the juxtaposition of hench guy in the world's silliest outfit I think him looking like human Spongebob fits the character really well.

Yeah, I remember that image of the concept art, as Polka dot man is my favourite DC character I'll always find it funny that photo showed he was included in a movie over Deadshot, very fun. Was Hush also in that image? I remember there were 3 who we know didn't make the cut. Hush feels like he should have been done before

@Renny The Spacemanfair shout on the differences. Going back through the issue it looks like Mr Polka-Dot (as he was) was drawn with individual teeth as opposed to the usual single strip to denote pearly whites. When he returned in GCPD his dots were smaller and more uniform in size, but I'm guessing his funding had been slashed as he had resorted to a baseball bat. The polychromatic goggles seems to be a BTBaTB quirk. If I was being picky I would say that the cut of his uniform isn't exactly, well uniform, but that's SA comics for you.

Looking at the concept board featured in the book there's Silver Banshee. Dr Double X, Ventriloquist and Scarface, Hush. You also have Calendar Man with a calendar on his head, Hugo Strange with a skirt piece, Kite Man with a beard and boots, Calculator with firefighter breathing apparatus on his head, and a crowned Condiment King. Damn I forgot how good some of the rendering was in that film.

I for one wouldn’t mind absolute power superman, with the mech being an oversized version of one of the Super-Corp power suits.

I have a feeling he'll be comic inspired, with the Superman logo like how it will be in the upcoming movie...

Yeah that was disappointing to see. I wouldn’t even be terribly mad that the design is a step down if it means they incorporate a Bat-Pod in there, but we know that’s too good to be true.

Jam-packed with fun features like flick fire missiles and a super jumper. It will also see the highly anticipated return of the black Batsuit. It'll include a little comic of characters we'll never see in Lego. It's going to look like it was designed for the original Batman theme, but with today's pricing. There'll be more stickers than pieces. Any or all of the above.

95% of the vehicles from the original Batman theme still hold up to this day (besides a few like the Bat-Dragster, Batcycle, and the Bat-Buggy).

As someone (potentially the only one) who's read all of Abner's comic appearances a good deal of them are flashbacks and through those flashbacks (likely unintentionally) you see his costume change and him get skinnier. Given the state of him physically and mentally in GCPD compared to his first appearance most people assume that the suit he wears there is just, as Bullock says, some Polka dot footy pyjamas. The narrative that makes the most sense to me with all his appearances is he has his initial crime spree, gets caught and never has the same success again, with less money and him spending more time in bars lamenting his failure and not being able to upkeep his original high tech suit and wearing increasingly shoddier ones until his suit doesn't do anything anymore. After that comes his appearance in the widening gyre where he hangs up his suit as through all his criminal activities he just wanted fame and attention and he isn't willing to commit to the more serious state of Gotham's rouges past the silver age. Then at somepoint later GCPD happens where he's now not in a good state and instead of any grand dot based scheme he just tries rob a diamond store likely because he just needs the money.

(From there he joins a team of Z Listers, gets hench again, dies, stays dead for the new 52 then rebirth brings him back and now to this day he just makes small cameos in random books showing he's around and seems much happier but that's not relevant)

This is my roundabout way of saying I think all the suits are meant to be different (until he's brought back in rebirth and now pretty consistently wears his OG costume bar his most recent one where he's redesigned to resemble the movie slightly more)

He's unbeatable, by 2062 every single comic book movie will chose to not include any of the source material characters over Mr Polka dot. There will be a Smurfs and Tintin movie where the cast is entirely him.

I mean, there will always be disappointed people. Accounting for the number of larger parts, I think they'd be significantly better value than the latest Batmobile.

It was by way of example. And given that most of the sets had larger parts, it's not easy to find a suitable comparison.

This is a decent theory based on reasonable if presumably accidental evidence, but given the character I can totally see it.

Had not seen the two leaks to have known this - so thanks for putting it out!!! Can't wait to attempt a customer Hatter and Jared Leto Joker (not crazy about the Letp portrayal, but I want to have a custom variation of the Joker to go with the Lego Movie 2 Harley).

Even though it's way too early to tell, any speculations on non-movie, non-D2C DC sets for next summer? I'd love to see more BTAS (or DCAU in general). What if the Superman mech is based off of STAS (aka the weakest Superman ever)?
