WW1 ended over 106 years ago.... anyone who fought in it, led it, and was hurt by it directly are long dead... so I think it's safe to talk about at this point. (Unless you are talking about the repercussions of this war, which are still being felt to this day, or course.) Heck, we even have LEGO sets vehicles from this war!

I had to watch it as part of my A level History. The only significantly exciting part of that film was guessing where Cromwell's warts would be next, and sometimes how many there would be. ..but we aren't talking about that though. The closest we get to that, is rise of Nazi Germany / Hitler and the rise of the U.S.S.R. / Stalin. Nazi Germany fell in 1945 with Hitler, and the U.S.S.R. dissolved in 1991, while Stalin died in the mid-'50s.

I am fully aware that my ancestors are 'worse than the Nazis' because they DARED! to fight their freedom against white civilized Europeans who only wanted to share their sacred democracy with them, but, hey, I don't think it's a good subject to discuss in even an Aslymic DC thread. Honestly I'm not really excited for Arkham. I got excited for a batcave and they managed to clutch defeat from the jaws of victory with that one. Even though they COULD get a really solid figure count re-using prison jumpsuits and parts for guards/doctors, I doubt that they will.

Every recent D2C has been lackluster in terms of figure selection imo (that includes the Bugle, Sanctum, Avengers Tower, Eye of Sauron, X-Mansion, Khetanna, etc). As a minifig collector first and foremost, I've lost any interest I had in these overpriced set pieces.

And I'm taking into account who's chosen and their figure design, not just number of figs (hence TDB and AT).

I get that. When it was first revealed/rumored, I was initially very excited. However, I got to thinking the inevitable thought: do I need it? I have TLBM Arkham, and aside from possibly a few great new minifigures and a back wall, it won’t offer me much more than I have now. As someone who never went through a “dark ages,” this evaluation of whether I truly need/want sets these past few years has been interesting.

In defense of the Avengers' Tower, I think the minifigure issue, selection-wise, falls to the subject matter. Most of the characters associated with the tower are/were available, and I can only think of a handful of characters not included who could have naturally been, and most of them are in suits (Coulson, Hill, Sitwell, Rumlow, and Iron Legion drones). Could the included minifigures have been more detailed? Yes, and I agree with you on every other D2C listed, which is a real shame, now that I think about it.

I mean @Mandalorianknight it's on the money with bravery, that's an accurate stat, and I think the stats only apply to the character individually, without anyone to rile up or any underlings to take orders he's not exactly going to be scary (in this one episode of Doctor Who he's alone and thus immediately subdued and locked in a cupboard)

I’m mixed on Arkham, tbh. I’ve already made my own (https://www.flickr.com/photos/199057570@N07/albums/72177720310917608/with/53159342208) and I’d rather make modifications to that rather than getting a new one (especially seeing how bland in design a lot of the superhero modular buildings have been) unless the design really blows me away. There’s a chance we’ll get some great new minifigure designs or maybe even some new characters, but I’m not holding my breathe. But, on the other hand, DC getting a modular building is exciting and I’d love if it leads to more down the line (maybe a Hall of Justice or Daily Planet in a couple of years).

The History Channel died in 2006 when Pawn Stars and it's ilk started being aired... It used to be about HISTORY not fake bull like "Ancient Aliens", "Legend of Skinwalker Ranch", or "Curse of Oak Island". (If they ever found anything major on Oak Island, we would hear about it on international news long before it aired on the History Channel.) Give me Wild West Tech, (classic) Modern Marvels or Histories Mysteries any day!

This reminds me of an idea I had - I wanted to build 'action figures' of TNBA characters, but I don't have enough parts for that, and I already made lots of custom minifigures, so...
