how is the new tumbler so much worse than the last one AND $20 more expensive

The front wheels' and windows' design were so much better on the previous version! This forum deserves a better class of Lego set (or not?)

I really want the Superman mech to fly off shelves (like a bee).

In 1978, you believed a man could fly..

In January 2025, you'll believe a set can fly (off the shelves)

I honestly don't think the ATSV set will. It's just so absurdly overpriced, I can't see it being a solid seller right off the bat. IIRC the X-jet didn't sell out, and that was a similar situation. Although even then it'd been forever since our last Magneto/Cyclops/Rogue, whereas we get Gwens and Miles's all the time.

Yeah, that's a good point. However, The Spider Verse movies are HUGELY popular with certain demographics that lap with the LEGO target audience and I think there are more fans that will buy that set ASAP than the X-Jet since the SV movies have more of a.. fanbase, I guess the word is? But I could defiantly see it having a tepid opening but grow in sales as the price goes down over the months.

POTENTIAL HOT TAKE but I can't help but share it. If I get mauled for this so be it but Time has passed:

Doesn't mean The Bat-Pod/Construction Figure is a PERFECT set, but it's far better looking IMO than the 2025 Tumbler and arguably better Representation of TDK trilogy on a Display shelf.

The new cowl looks quite ugly with that suit, sorry to the designers but it just does. Really don't want another tumbler and i foresee these figs being in a lego magazine or bricklink so possible pass

Edit: for batman i can order just his torso since its the only print 🥴

Also wouldnt be surprised if "arkham" ends up actually being a nolan d2c- but i likely wouldn't have bought a 500 usd set anyways...

Actually the new tumbler looks better scaled to minifigs... but it's hard to tell for sure, still looks oversized at the back

Still the "old" tumbler is a pretty nice and recent build unlike the 2022 lego batmobile- a remake of that would have been more appropriate

Sure, dark gray and pink would be ideal, and dark green wouldn’t work for TDK design. But it would work for a comic design, so at least the part would be useful for something. As it sits now, it only really works for some poor unfortunate soul who fell asleep with half their face on a toaster.

2006 face design looks more like TDK Two-Face than this one does

If they use the new cowl for the 2026 Battinson minifigure I will just end it right there and then.

Truly awful mould.

I'm already using it so I can have the Bruce Wayne face from the movie sets

Please go out and buy the Superman mech, guys. This may be our last chance.

Scalpers might be useful for once

Deathstroke mech would be awesome

DC needs dioramas

Good soldiers follow orders

(I’m personally gonna mod the mech into a chonky Eradicator)
Listen up guys. Don’t buy the tumbler. Army build Superman mechs. Send a message to Lego.

I will not stop fighting for the aslume until we achieve GL mech.

What do you guys think the odds are of us getting comic versions of some of these DCU characters that are stuck in R-rated projects? For example, Peacemaker and Circe? Obviously, it’s not gonna happen anytime within the next year when friggin Superman can’t even get an official movie tie-in. But if we start getting more DC sets, do you think there’s a chance we get them before characters who are otherwise big names but haven’t appeared in DCU projects (think maybe Aquaman, Cyborg, and Flash).

If they expand beyond Batman—then sure, maybe. Or maybe not—it's hard to say if it'd be just another case of Deadpool.

Deadpool is basically the poster child of everything parents deem inappropriate for children. Peacemaker has all the same issues as Deadpool, but I also think he’s still obscure enough that parents wouldn’t know who he is. But I could also see Lego not wanting to risk the backlash for a character who has a cult following at best.

Circe’s biggest issue, IMO, is her outfit.  But we did just get slave Leia, so there does seem to be some wiggle room.

But I think most everyone else in these R-rated projects would be fine and the only things holding them back are 1) being in an R-rated project which Lego doesn’t want to be associated with and 2) being in a DC project which are notorious box office duds.

It wasn't my fault, I was cold and it was giving off heat.

Honestly, aside from the fact that the X-men have a bigger fanbase than the spider-verse movies just off, like, box office, it's not "do people like the spider verse movies" it's "Are spot and Miles's specific outfit from the spider-verse movies more popular than the X-men", to which the answer is unequivocally no. Look at the forums and stuff- Afols had been begging for the X-men since the start of the theme. We got two sets early on and then for a full decade the most we got was the occasional Wolverine. As for kids, I guarantee you the vast majority of them don't care enough to shell out $50 for a different logo on their Miles. Not to mention the Gwen fig is almost exactly the same as the non ATSV sets.

The issue is saturation. If this was our first time in like a decade getting Miles and Gwen, I could see it being a bestseller even at that price. But we get them so frequently that I highly doubt people are going to go rabid for a slightly different Miles and a nearly identical Gwen figure for a set almost double the price it should be.

If they were Lex mechs I might honestly have purchased more than one to mod one into a GL mech and/or make a little diorama of Supes taking down Lexcorp bots.

I don't even know what Circe's from in this context, just a vague recollection of her turning Wonder Woman into a pig and making Batman sing the blues, so I'd hazard a guess they wouldn't want to risk it on a character that's not all that popular.

I love how it looks like Joker just stole $100 from Two-Face and now Batman is kicking his megablocks. Perfect summary of the movie.

And left him with but a single coin! Oh, the villainy!

Its truly amazing just how bad that new batman helmet mold is, doesn’t fit at all for Bale whatsoever

It’s pretty decent for BTAS, which is kinda where the theme is heading. But it’s a weird choice to redo a three year old set with it.

We might be getting a Superman teaser trailer mid December. So it’ll be interesting to see if we can speculate any potential sets from that.

No need for speculation. We’re getting none.

GUYS.

Clearly, this is psqidexslizer’s Flashforce-back moment, where he comes back from 2026 to warn us of the soon-to-be apocalypse which will ensue when no Superman (2025) sets are produced by TLG.

I mean, we could speculate whether or not anything in the trailer seems like a Soup mech or power armor for Lex.

We don't know it but I'd bet on it that we won't.

That mold is a big signal to me for the downfall of the theme. We got type 2 and 3 cowls at the same time for a number of years, depending on which was better suited to the specific man, but the type 4 seems to have replaced both.

Are our expectations are so low that even DC themselves confirming that Lego is making tie-in products for the film won't convince us?

Yes.

But it is possible that they consider the mech a tie-in. It's also worrying that some leakers have said that this was all, and we wouldn't get more sets.

Claybricks said that he heard we could be getting some sets for it from sources but that remains to be seen if true

Nothing certain yet

If we did it'd be so funny if that Superman from the mech was reused for the movie set, couldn't be bothered to design or produce a new suit for the movie

Mark my words, he will be reused

If we're lucky, faceprint will be the only thing reused
