Mandalorianknight Posted February 19, 2024 Posted February 19, 2024 I said it'd be my last post on the subject, and I'll stick by it. 3 hours ago, BrickBob Studpants said: I know we‘re joking around about this, but I truly believe the DC theme can be properly revived once the DCU gets off the ground, maybe even to the level where such a set could be more than just a pipe dream Correlation is not causality, but it‘s no coincidence the DC theme rose and declined mostly in parallel to the DCEU. Unless the DCU crashes and burns, I have high hopes for the future! I honestly believe that if we could even just get one good family-friendly batman cartoon out there, we'd get the theme back to a healthy state. 1 hour ago, Robert8 said: It would be hilarious if it turns out to the Tower of Fate If it is the tower of fate, we need EVERY DC joke included. You-know-who and the you-know-who-ler. I want Luthor with a large pallet containing 40 1x1 cake tiles. I want Dogwelder. I want superman to be excluded but characters suspiciously similar to omni-man and homelander to be included. Quote

I'm thinking a lineup something like this: Venomized Batman, Batman (Jensen Ackles's soldier boy outfit holding a sign saying "I'm batman"), Batman (using the captain marvel cowl), Flash (hawiaan shirt), Klarion the witch boy, Black Adam (The Rock), Peacemaker (using all trans-clear elements), Omni-Man, Dogwelder, Madam Web, and three joker figures: Hamill's Joker with damaged face and open mouth, Jared Leto (Not his joker- actor jared leto), and Joker wearing one of those CMF outfits but it's a crowbar. Oh, and Paul Dano's Riddler (holding a 2x3 tile with a sign that says Does He Know?). Quote

Sorry for my stupidity, but I didn't get those. Is it Omni-man from Invincible? Is Hamill's Joker a reference to the Mask of Phantasm? And the last Joker being a reference to Death in a family? BTW, the Boys characters initially belonged to DC. But the comic is soo... And the last Joker being a reference to Death in a family? BTW, the Boys characters initially belonged to DC. But the comic is soo... Well, you got it Haha, I got this one! It's not stupid to not understand all my dumb jokes and references- these were just joke figures for the set, since the set itself was never real and became a long-running joke. To explain: Venomized Batman is referencing how lego marvel loves to make venomized characters instead of new ones, the joke being that DC would do the same. Jensen Ackles batman is just a reference to the actor loving batman- he says "I'm batman" in a non-DC show, he's voiced him in animation, and he wants to play him in live-action. Hawiian shirt flash is a reference to the fact that the guy who last played flash- Ezra Miller- went on a crime spree in hawii. It well could be the reason the flash set got retooled into a batman 1989 set. clear peacemaker references his actor- John Cena's old wrestling motto, "you can't see me", and the wider "John Cena is invisible" meme. Omni Man is from invincible- the joke is that a supeman knockoff is included and superman himself is not. Hamill's joker is a reference to a specific meme that's an image of joker where his face is messed up from an explosion or something and he looks shocked, and then it's titled "Live Joker Reaction". Crowbar joker is indeed a reference to Death in the Family. The joke is just that it'd be a goofy CMF costume figure of one of the darkest moments in batman history, like the Killing Joke joker they threw in the Lego Batman CMF. 59 minutes ago, psqidexslizer said: Jared Leto needs to be wearing a “It’s Morbin time” t-shirt. I was thinking 30 seconds from mars, but morbin time is even better. We give him an alternate morbed face, too. 42 minutes ago, PGBQW said: What was he cooking in his mind? whatever it was, it was 99.1% pure Just now, THELEGOBATMAN said: This list ate and left no crumbs. CloneCommando99 Posted February 20, 2024 Posted February 20, 2024 I know it definitely won’t be, but would anyone else want the $200 D2C to be a Green Lantern central power battery. Imagine all the different lantern Corps figures we could get. But it’s probably going to be a UCS Bat-Pod isn’t it? Quote
DaredevilFan Posted February 20, 2024 Posted February 20, 2024 As all DC sets now seem to be Batman related. If the D2C is DC then I think It’ll be a Batmobile. Most likely Adam west or Pattinson. With the penguin show releasing later on in year and Batman part 2 next I would guess it being that one. A new mould similar to keatons one with the cowl, collar and cape could be nice. Also they could throw in a falcone minifig so at least we get a new character. But I have low expectations for anything. Really hoping for at least one superman legacy set next year 🤞🏻 Quote

So we’ll probably get a very basic idea by July (probably earlier), additional details in August, and images in September. Quote

Lego Nostalgia Posted February 22, 2024 Posted February 22, 2024 Does anyone know if the Shadow Box sold well ? It hasn't been on sale so that's a good sign that it done well which means they will have more faith in making more D2C Batman stuff that isn't vehicles. Quote

calebcold3 Posted February 23, 2024 Posted February 23, 2024 Since we pretty much know all the 2024 sets we're getting for Batman.. oh I'm sorry.. DC this year, I think next year (2025) we will still only be getting 5-6 sets at most like we did this year and last year. I'm like 99% sure Superman: Legacy will get sets, I'm expecting 2 sets (One $40 set and one $80) BUT I also had this come to mind: What if as an unofficial tie in to Superman Legacy, we got a Comic Modular Daily Planet next year? I know DC doesn't do comic sets as much but I feel like the figures in such a set could be easy to make (like no leg printing on most of the figures) to where it's not expensive to make completely exclusive figures. Also it's a safe bet to do it based on comics/general Superman lore as in we don't know if Superman Legacy is going to be a critical and financial hit yet (I really hope it is, fingers crossed it does well). But also Superman lore I feel like is iconic enough to comic book fans and AFOLs to warrant a modular Daily Planet. I had in my mind that it would be around $250 and have like 9 figures (Superman, Clark Kent, Lois Lane, Perry White, Jimmy Olson, Lex Luthor, Brainiac, Supergirl, Lana Lang). Again Idk how likely it would be but I would Love a set like this for next year. The other 2 to 3 sets next year I bet are going to be 4+ Batman sets and a Buildable Batman figure or Object, as expected now Quote
