One of the two purple guys I know made half my family disappear and the other one was behind a slaughter, so I am absolutely against the purples.

Idk, this kinda seems like a PR stunt for Luigi's reputation. I have not seen a single thing bringing together as many people with different political views as that in ages. Literally everyone but other CEOs and corporate puppets thinks that guy had it coming.

Wait, should we be publicly declaring the reasons for not liking a song? I've got one hell of a spreadsheet to draw up, I'm well behind. For the record I used to like Baby It's Cold Outside, but I don't think there's ever going to be a time when I will like WAP. And I feel both are controversial. Right, just another 42 years worth of songs to quantify, which based on the average UK male lifespan and capacity for music is some 718,000. And Sisyphus reckoned that he had it hard.

Yeah, sure! Tell us all about the songs you hate. 

You raise a good point, people are constantly complaining about WAP, it's just as "controversial" even if it's for less serious reasons.

I mean but again you have to decide that that's what it means. All I know is between the two, the latter seems acceptable to play in public areas where children could be present, and the former certainly does not.

 

Apparently hot take that actively murdering someone is a bad thing, but we aren't supposed to do current events past the dinosaurs, so to explain my thoughts on the situation more directly:

The Thagomizer is an actual scientific term. That is the actual, technical name of the part of the dinosaur. Now you might think I would be suggesting this name sounds too juvenile for a scientific name, but it's actually the opposite. I believe all dinosaurs need this. Henceforth I submit we should call pterosaur's beaks "needlestroyers" and T-rex's jaws "ultracrushers" or something.

Fun fact: The reason the Thagomizer has it's name is due to the Far Side comic strip (and the late caveman, Thag Simmons.) The part of the dinosaur had no name before that strip, and afterwards, paleontologists decided to name the spiked tail the Thagomizer in the strip's honor. You can read about it more here. Another example of one is the Horrendous Space Kablooie from the strip Calvin and Hobbes, which is now an actual term for the Big Bang.

Seems like a kinda random scenario, like imagine talking about how certain Looney Tunes shorts don't hold up "sure the old racist Bugs Bunny cartoons are bad, but if it was between that and porn I'd rather show that to a kid"

Like, sure, I guess that's better but not only is it kinda irrelevant to the point we're talking about but also not a choice any human will have to make. It's still bad to play the song for a kid without having a conversation with them about it beforehand, like those Looney Tunes shorts it should obviously be preserved but just have a strong warning about how times change what's considered okay beforehand. 

Either way, some people did in fact have an issue with WAP, it's why people still bring it up and get mad at it today so this entire thing is based on a false dichotomy
