You've doomed yourself there. Whilst not strictly an you've implied that Deedra Meero isn't cool. @THELEGOBATMAN will be most displeased.

I was counting her as a member of the Bat-Family.

Would the helmet fit there?

Not legally, but if you use a 1x1 cylinder instead of a head, you can get it in there.

So no Superman sets in 2025 besides the mech? Lego minecraft goat says no while Ashnflash says a WB executive said there will be some form of Lego representation. I'm confused

DC put out a press release including lego in a list of superman tie-ins. This referred to the mech, assumably with whatever suit made the list simply not paying attention to the specific detail present on superman's outfit.

The Bricklink UI change is gonna turn me into the Joker

There's only place here for one Jonkler, Mr. Renny The Spaceman—and that's me!

Interesting. Do you have any recommendations?

Honestly, not really. The only names of which I’m aware come from watching LEGO Clone army videos. (Even though I could care less for an army of P2 clones.)

I thought I saw Jonak Toys having an option on their sight for commissions? I’m aware that MicahNike does decals, but not sure if he commissions.

Might go the custom printed route, like through minifigs.me, although that’d limit the customization to just the torso—plus LEGO is pretty picky about custom prints having a trademarked logo on it.

I’m not on Instagram (I say I don’t believe in social media as I write on a social platform involving media) but I believe a couple custom printers can do custom jobs; no idea who’s who or what.

Probably a better question to pose on the LSW subreddit, in all honesty. Hope I could help a Commando bro out a little bit, though.

Bricklink UI change

Don’t they realize that by changing the un-user friendly interface, they only upset the people who’ve spent hours training themselves on said interface? Another reason to go march on Billund.

Best part about the new Soups teaser: there’s nothing that stands out as a potential set! /s

Seriously, though, the teaser got me in the feels. The parts that stood out to me most was the shot around 1:24 to 1:26—a classic Soups moment done using modern techniques—and around 1:36. The moment with Krypto made me smile. All of the casting choices look excellent.

Only thing that makes me worried is everything extraneous to Soup. No idea how Hawkgirl, Guy Gardener, and Mr. Terrific will play into Soup’s journey, and I’m not entirely convinced on why they need to be included in a character sense. It seems like the movie wants to be as strong as Iron Man while having the world-building as Iron Man 2. I don’t believe that strategy will be successful. (See Ep. IV compared to Ep. V of Star Wars—former succeeds on worldbuilding with less emphasis on character development, latter succeeds on character development with less emphasis on world building.)

Another point of contention: why the DC Studios Logo over the movie’s title? Are they unsure of the final title for this movie? Are they entirely confident in everything knowing it’s the Superman movie?

Love the usage of the John Williams theme; wish James Gunn could’ve gotten him to compose the score.

Spoiler

Is that Braniac around 1:53? Who’s hugging Soups around 1:59?

I’m sure for anyone who grew up with the older Soups won’t be as wowed as I am now—but by golly, we got a new Soup movie coming!

(“By golly”? I must be listening to too many Christmas songs.)

I've long since given up on BL making positive changes. Starting with Lego buying them, which I was never a fan of, we've had them decide to remove many of the separate listings for different versions of parts, the UI changes, etc. I still use it because it's what I've got my store set up on, but if a real rival ever pops up, I'd certainly look into moving to it.

TRUE! It was dated but that was it's charm.

Also idk about you guys but on my laptop the scroll wheel doesn't show up until I get to the stores. So it's impossible to look at any results past the fourth for any item

I love the Demolition Dummy, he's so cool I wish I made him my only personality trait first

I don't think he actually composes much anymore, he's old and most recent films he's supposedly score rely heavily on reused tracks. IDK how accurate it is but I've heard he has ghost composers do some of his stuff now

Posted (edited)

Also, I like Knightfall, I think there's some great stuff in there, but I have never read Knightquest as it's never in the trades. So I never actually knew the real reason Bruce regained the ability to walk after getting his back broken, I assumed it was just he trained really hard or something. I had Comicpop on as background noise and it turns out it was not that, what the megabluck is wrong with DC?

Is this some common knowledge or is it news to everyone else here that it's apparently ambiguous whether or not he regained the ability to walk by having sex with a woman who was regressed mentally to like 8 years old?

Maybe right now in 2024 into 2025, but there’s been evidence to suggest that’s been otherwise for him in the past few years.

He still shows up in person to conduct at the occasional concert. He still creates new themes, like the Kenobi’s or Helena’s theme. He looked healthy, albeit very old, in the recent Music by John Williams doc. He can still play the keys at least as of 2023, so he’s still able to create new themes.

If you’re suggesting he doesn’t create new compositions, while the William Ross’s and such reuse his older themes in new orchestrations, I’d argue the opposite is more true. In Obi-Wan Kenobi’s case, he created the new Obi-Wan theme, then passed off the rest of the responsibilities to William Ross and Natalie Holt, who are credited as the composers. If he didn’t compose Indy 5 (2023; sorry to speak the name of that movie) or Fablemans (2022), then that much would be clear. He seems like a man who takes pride in his work, and not someone to outright take the credit of someone else’s. (Apple Music might credit him for the Kenobi soundtrack, of which he had little involvement, but they do the same with Hans Zimmer. Big name draws clicks.)

If I recall correctly, according to speculation had on the JWFan boards, the soundtrack release of Indy 5 (sorry, sorry), was all Williams’s work. There’s several tracks in the film missing in the release that were likely composed by William Ross, so part of the ghost composers thing is true.

I’m sure John could at least write a few new themes, or different orchestrations of his preexisting themes. I’m sure John Murphy will do alright, like Ottoman before him. There’s just nothing that can beat the soul of John Williams written into his work being performed with all the power of the orchestra.

It’s really not his fault Lego tried to make that ship at a $100 price point using $60 worth of parts.

Hey, they used magenta AND teal for that set! I don't see what else could they have done.

Theory time:

Lego Castle and Lego Pirates are part of the same timeline, and feature the same nations.

The Lion Knights evolved into the Red Coats.

Crown Knights evolved into the conquistadors

The Black Falcons evolved into the Blue Coats.

The Wolf Knights split into the multiple pirate factions.

If you look closely the colour aesthetics and way these factions appear to act are very similar.

But that’s just a theory. A Commando Theory.

Star Wars keeps descending into the abyss of Clone sets.

Schumacher movies are getting a large set. But superman isn’t.

Chat, are we cooked?

Yes and no.

I feel like 2025 is the best year for LEGO ever, personally—a Spider-Verse set and a whole CMF series, more Andor, Lilo & Stitch house, another Horizon set, Arkham D2C, a cheaper LotR D2C (based on my favourite location too), How to Train Your Dragon set, a Fantastic Four set (with all members at that), Ninjago being better than ever, a whole One Piece theme, another Fast & Furious set...

Literally half my LEGO dreams are suddenly getting fulfilled. I couldn't be happier.

But then you have some baffling decisions, like—no Superman set(s), ever-increasing prices, Star Wars becoming a gimmick / Clone Wars extravaganza, How to Train Your Dragon getting a buildable figure instead of an actual set or a whole theme...

So I am happier than ever with LEGO, but also some of their choices (and especially the Superman set) really sting.

Hate to think what would happen if Dedra isn’t in the U-Wing.

I hope that it they do sets from the Schumacher films, none of the sets based on the film literally named Batman & Robin have Robin in them. That would be fitting after the omission of Robin from both the recent Batman '66 sets.
