Since we pretty much know all the 2024 sets we're getting for Batman.. oh I'm sorry..  DC this year, I think next year (2025) we will still only be getting 5-6 sets at most like we did this year and last year.

I'm like 99% sure Superman: Legacy will get sets, I'm expecting 2 sets (One $40 set and one $80) BUT I also had this come to mind:

What if as an unofficial tie in to Superman Legacy, we got a Comic Modular Daily Planet next year? I know DC doesn't do comic sets as much but I feel like the figures in such a set could be easy to make (like no leg printing on most of the figures) to where it's not expensive to make completely exclusive figures.  Also it's a safe bet to do it based on comics/general Superman lore as in we don't know if Superman Legacy is going to be a critical and financial hit yet (I really hope it is, fingers crossed it does well). But also Superman lore I feel like is iconic enough to comic book fans and AFOLs to warrant a modular Daily Planet.

I had in my mind that it would be around $250 and have like 9 figures (Superman, Clark Kent, Lois Lane, Perry White, Jimmy Olson, Lex Luthor, Brainiac, Supergirl, Lana Lang). Again Idk how likely it would be but I would Love a set like this for next year.

The other 2 to 3 sets next year I bet are going to be 4+ Batman sets and a Buildable Batman figure or Object, as expected now

Bro, I’m just hoping for a minifigure pack with all the desirable heroes that are showing up. I just want Superman, Hawkgirl, Guy Gardner and Supergirl. Let Mr Terrific and Metamorpho be in a Daily Planet though.

I’m hoping we get more than 5-6 sets next year since we’re getting movies for both Batman and Superman, DC’s flagpoles and still two of the most popular and iconic superheroes.

edit: here’s what I think would be a solid, reasonable lineup

2 Superman Legacy sets

4+ Superman Legacy set

Buildable Superman

Buildable Batman

4+ Batman set (BtAS based)

3 The Batman Part 2 sets

D2C Batman set

Yeah.. I figured. But I thought it was worth mentioning that as an idea. At least we should be getting some Superman Legacy sets next year (I swear I hope I'm not jinxing it).

Oh for sure. I think if we get 2 sets for the movie, we should get some of the other heroes in a larger set.

That is a very good line up actually. I forgot the Batman Part 2 is coming out next year but something tells me they could push that to 2026 for some reason. I will say A Buildable Superman could look very cursed and uncanny and idk if this forum would be ready for that haha.

It’ll fit right in with the rest of the buildable figures.

This is very unlikely but it seems they’re making a ‘Jurassic league’ animated movie. So dinosaur justice league sets could happen 😂😂 would be kinda amazing

If they did that it would just be Jurassic league buildable figures

This would be Lego's opportunity to make dinosaurs and characters that they haven't made before, but locked in Jurassic League form forever.

I hope its characters we’ve been clamoring for for years who aren’t even in the movie.

Wasn't there a leaked image of a brachiosaur minifig head for the late Vidiyo theme? Maybe will reuse those! LOL

Brontozarro incoming! Swiftly followed by Atrocitaurus and Giganta (evidently they couldn't find a dinosaur with Gigant as a prefix).

I recently bought all of the Arkham games (It's 2024 I know) and I would love for Lego to make an 18+ 500$ Arkham Asylum like the games with the Arkham Knight Batmobile.

Unfortunately I think the arkham games are generally too mature for us to get sets directly based off of- the Arkham Knight inspired Batmobile was really stretching the limits beyond what I thought they would do as-is.

I think the most we'd get if this was a theme that got sets like lego marvel would be a D2C arkham with some arkham game inspired villain designs, maybe a batsuit based off Origions or Asylum. But since it's lego DC, the most we'll get is an earless batman prelim in a cancelled tower of fate set.

A comic based Arkham with a hyper detailed Batman, Red Robin, Cassandra Cain Batgirl, Spoiler, Arkham Knight and Batwing as some of the minifigures would slap though. We could also get a Calendar man, Hush, updated deathstroke and professor pig as well as all the standard villains. They could even include a Batman who laughs.

Suspect if we get anything the design will lean heavily on BTAS, with one big castle type building. The Asylum in the Arkham-Verse has a lot of different buildings.

Side note: The Batmobile it's very clearly its own thing, it looks nothing like the Arkhamverse one.

The minifigure, however, is indeed Knight's suit.

The main thing I wanted from the D2C batcave fig wise was an extended bat family, but alas. No way to get Orphan, or Red Hood (besides paying.... $35 for the fig alone? That's not actually bad, I swear he used to be like $70)

Well, technically speaking, Knight's suit is completely different. It's got the screen face and all that. The included fig is Batman.

But yeah. It was just the suit (and sort of the logo? They never specify arkham knight- because they can't make stuff from an M-rated game- but the logo on the box is pretty similar to the arkham games)

There's a guy on Instagram who designed an entire Arkham line. Obviously with all the limitations of custom products, but it is very suggestive! It's a shame that Lego never addressed the topic.

Maybe sooner or later a big Arkham Asylum set will arrive, I'd like something similar to Rivendell, could use the island from the video game as a source of inspiration. Dreaming costs nothing :-p

Unless you start mocing it by yourself after being frustrated for a couple of years... ;)

To be honest I can't see the problem. We got a killing joke Joker. Lego could easily ignore the scary mutants as well as Victor and the lunatics in force vests, so it will be just another Arkham Asylum play set but with fancier minifigs. A cool batmobile (maybe the Arkham knight one), a few cell blocks, a botanical Garden (we have perfect transparent pieces now) with the plants growing out of it... some of the middle trophies Hidden here and there and other little easter-eggs... make it 400€, put mad hatter, black mask, Azrael and the Arkham knight into it and it will sell like siced bread just as Rivendell.

I've seen these! They're actually quite realistic.

LEGO has done Arkham Asylums before, so it's very plausible if you ask me.
If they do another one, I hope they stick to the theme of each cell incorporating elements of their inhabitants (plants for Poison Ivy, ice for Mr. Freeze, etc.)

Guys! PLEASE ... if we want NEW sets... we need NEW animated series and a movie.

Other might be coming AND the other we might see in 2025. SO how many sets in 2024 and 2025 together? 20, 30, 40? OR....

I'd remove the zeroes from those numbers
And I don't think we need new media from Batman (or DC in general) for more LEGO sets, but sadly TLC seems to think that way.

I've spoken about this in other threads, but there's a pretty hard line for lego when it comes to tv/movies/games. If it's TV-MA/R/M, we don't get direct tie ins. Aside from lego being duped into producing an Echo figure for the marvel CMF, and the show was changed last minute to MA, we've never had direct lego tie ins to properties of those ratings, and we likely never will.

Now, lego could easily include some arkham designs in a generic batman set, but it won't be branded under the arkham franchise, and likely would have some figs from other continuities and a more general arkham design.

With the exception of the TLBM years, I don't think we were pulling anywhere near those kinds of numbers for Lego Batman, EVER. Between 2024 and 2025, if lego decides to go all-in for the superman movie and batman part 2, I think the most we get is 15 sets total (counting things like the skyline and buildible bat-pod, but not counting things like polybags or keychains), and that's being extremely optimistic. Realistically, I think next year we see ~3 The Batman 2 sets, 1-2 Superman sets, and ~3 other batman sets.

I agree that a new animated series is necessary for any sort of expansion of the batman franchise. We'll get tie-in sets for the movies, but Gunn's movies have never been particularly kid-oriented, and neither have batman movies since the 21st century began. We need an animated series so kids have something to engage with on a regular level that exposes them to Batman.

20 to 40 sets within 2 years? There must a parallel universe where that’s realistic but it sure as sh*t ain’t this one :laugh_hard:

I agree that new kid-friendly content is needed to get kids interested in DC again. DC has been catering to adult fans a lot in recent years with Joker, TSS, Peacemaker, and the recent KTJL game. Even The Batman was more geared towards an adult audience, so much so that having sets based on it was quite shocking after seeing the movie! *huh*

Not saying that’s a bad thing as it paid off quite well for the most part (compared to 80% of the DCEU), but still, it doesn’t really translate to good set opportunities.

Personally, I place my trust in Gunn. After he and his crew managed to turn the GotG into not only a successful trilogy, but also a merchandise juggernaut, I don’t see why he can’t do the same for DC  I’m not expecting more than 3 sets for Superman Legacy, but if the DCU becomes popular, I anticipate more waves with comic-based stuff too!
