Every day, more lies! But actually- I agree in general, destruction of the arkhamverse and disrespect on Conroy's Batman nonwithstanding. DC's been doing much better with it's more mature material- Like you say, The Batman counts, and I'd throw the Snyder cut on there, as well as the harley quinn show (Which I never saw and personally don't really get, but people seem to enjoy it, same as TSS or peacemaker). This, naturally, hurts the potential for lego DC. We need a new animated show. We need a Caped Cruscader (202?) on wide-release, not just an amazon streaming original or whatever 1 hour ago, PGBQW said: The man who knew too much (1956) Lego's leak agents (this is a real job by the way) when someone guesses 2025 will contain a batmobile with batman and joker as well as a 4+ set and a buildable figure for the entirety of the year. That's why I said "for the most part" I haven't played the Arkham games and even *I* think what they did in the Suicide Squad game is downright insulting. 15 minutes ago, Mandalorianknight said: We need a new animated show. A show locked behind a streaming service won't do, it has to be something widely available! Quote
legoturtle Posted February 27, 2024 Posted February 27, 2024 (edited) That Batman animation series would be for ADULTS! “It’s everything that Bruce Timm wanted to do in the original series [the 1992 “Batman, the Animated Series”] but because it ran on a kid’s channel, he wasn’t able to do it." Spoiler MAYBE we get something like this? Summer DC sets... Edited February 27, 2024 by legoturtle Quote

Based on what I heard of this series, it's not Timm's initial vision of BTAS, but rather a strange phantasmagoric tie-in to Reeves' The Batman, with a connection to the 2022 movie similar to what BTAS had with Burton's movies Quote
BatDeanj Posted February 28, 2024 Posted February 28, 2024 I was Thinking about the D2C Arkham Asylum. I think there is a high possibility of it coming out when the Arkham TV show comes out,. Or when Batman the brave and the bold is out. so probs 2027/2028 earliest. I think its the most requested D2C from what I've heard Quote
Max_Lego Posted February 28, 2024 Posted February 28, 2024 Let's expect the worst. Like, Lego DC is dead, long live Lego Marvel! Whatever happens, we won't be disappointed. Quote
legoturtle Posted February 28, 2024 Posted February 28, 2024 LEGO DC dead? Shadow Box, upcoming massive art set and even The LEGO Batman movie. Animation movie! ... IF WE WAN'T MORE DC SETS - WE NEED MORE... yes we all know the answer... Quote
Max_Lego Posted February 28, 2024 Posted February 28, 2024 Lego mainly produces sets based on movies, comics and sometimes TV series. Marvel has made so many movies and TV shows, that TLG even doesn't need to produce sets based on their comic. At the moment, DC has NOTHING to inspire Lego sets, so TLG had to turn to beloved classics just to keep the line going - something that deserves to be grateful for, actually. The problem is that TLG is cautious about making a lot of sets based on BTAS, so DCAU fans should unite their efforts in persuading TLG to go further into TNBA (my favourite), STAS and JLU! Hell, even BB would do. Despite all its inconsistencies, DCAU is an all-time classic! For DCAU-based sets!! Yeeaah!!! P. S. : I only recently became a BTAS and TNBA fan, yet... Quote

Edit: With the downward spiral that the MCU is in right now I honestly think that in 5 years there’s a high chance that Marvel will be limited to Spiderman sets with some other heroes being sprinkled in. Need proof? Look at the last few of Lego’s public quarter earnings reports. For a theme as large as Marvel it should only be sustainable if it is in the Top 5 bestsellers, but it is not. This being the Internet, not sure if you’re being sarcastic or not, but if not: Yes, go pester some poor employees with requests and annoy them into compliance, that‘ll work They will surely pour countless resources into a dying theme just to appease some online complainers Seriously though, that’s not gonna work. Requesting a specific set for a highly successful theme and asking for a theme in a downward spiral to be revitalised are two very different things. If you want the DC theme to continue, it’s simple: Vote with your wallets. Support the theme by buying the few sets we are getting! Quote
legoturtle Posted February 28, 2024 Posted February 28, 2024 (edited) WE really NEED that new animation series. 2 seasons in Amazon Prime. AND then sets based in that animation series. AND gues what? There is already coming at least 2 sets based for Batman: Caped Crusader. (If the show will be cancelled, then we are in trouble, BIG trouble). Edited February 28, 2024 by legoturtle Quote

Lego Nostalgia Posted February 29, 2024 Posted February 29, 2024 Say if Professor Pyg was in The Batman 2, could we get him as a minifigure or is he too dark for lego to do even though it's a pg-13 movie ? Quote
Max_Lego Posted February 29, 2024 Posted February 29, 2024 Always wondered why they can include 'non-family-friendly' characters in a videogame but not create an actual minifigure of them Quote
Lego Nostalgia Posted February 29, 2024 Posted February 29, 2024 Also, if they made a D2C 18+ Arkham Asylum, would they be willing to give us Victor Zsasz ? Just now, Max_Lego said: Always wondered why they can include 'non-family-friendly' characters in a videogame but not create an actual minifigure of them I suppose a video game is different since a kid can't buy it himself or that there is a different team deciding who can be included in a video game. Lego Nostalgia Posted February 29, 2024 Posted February 29, 2024 Lego has changed a lot with what they're willing to make and they were more willing to do stuff like that in 2008 1 minute ago, Max_Lego said: That's what I was thinking about! Lego doesn't have problems neither with tally marks (captain Rex), neither with scars (Harry Potter). So what's the problem with tally mark scars? OK, just kidding Personally, I would've preferred a Lego version of the Ventriloquist and Scarface. And Mad Hatter. They are more family-friendly than Zsasz Quote

Every batman villain's been/done something f***d up at some point. I'm sure Alice is underage in some continuities, but I don't think she was in stuff like BTAS. With Mad Hatter, you can remove the darker elements, just like you can for Joker/freeze/bane/poison ivy/most other characters. But like you say, people like Zsasz are pretty hard to make family-friendly. I agree we won't see him. No powers or suit or anything, just a knife and scars for each person he kills. Not to mention, unlike other scars, he's purposely cutting himself. Quote

I don’t see why either or those should stop Lego when we’ve gotten March Harriett (escort), Killer Croc (cannibal), etc. I’d argue the bigger issue is neither one of them has gotten much exposure. Max_Lego Posted February 29, 2024 Posted February 29, 2024 Too bad we'll never get a TLBM-2. According to Chris McKey, it was going to be interesting! I was a big fan of TLBM at the time, but only acquired the Condiment King set last year... So many sets and characters... Many designs were weird, much like the 2004 Batman series, yet most new characters had classic looks. Now that Universal owns the Lego movie franchise, it's very unlikely we'll get a Lego DC movie Quote
