The real issue is central and coast city, especially if you're removing star labs. There certainly ARE locations in the comics that could be used- Ferris air, his lab in the GCPD, etc, but there's not nearly enough to sell a modular, especially if Gotham and Metropolis are already covered, and especially if Star Labs is being removed for it's own thing. Good point. Here’s an amended idea. Central city: Flash Museum, maybe have half a star labs, Barry Allen’s lab, Barry Allen’s and Iris Allen’s apartment and half of Star Labs. Figs: Barry Allen (lab coat), Flash, Kid Flash, Wally West, updated versions of all the Rogues, Iris west, Red death (have to have the compulsory Batman reference), Silas Stone and Cyborg. Coast City: Small GL Central Power Battery on roof tops, Hector Hammond’s lab, Hal Jordan’s apartment, Alley where Ganthet meets Kyle Rayner (Kyle will also have a fridge reference in Hal’s apartment, iykyk), Ferris Air, Cemetery for Black Lanterns to rise from and the other half of Star Labs. Figs: Hal Jordan (mid transformation so half normal clothes and half GL suit), Hal Jordan (Parallax), Kyle Rayner (classic suit), Atrocitus, White lantern Sinestro, Abin Sur, Carol Ferris Star Sapphire (new 52 suit as yet again iykyk), Saint Walker, Hector Hammond, Black Hand and Black lantern Batman. They could probably be smaller Modulars more akin to the Sanctum Sanctorum. Quote

Now we wait. Well that was fast. And even though this set goes for $390 Canadian for me/borderline 400, I think I might get this on day 1. I have no idea where I'll put it considering how big it is, but the attention to detail that's been put into the entire design is absolutely beautiful. Nearly every major building from the series is represented in some form, and even though this thing is riddled with stickers, they spared no expense with the little character silhouettes. The minifigs are really great as well. I can't believe it's taken this long to FINALLY get a Batman with a black/blue cape, plus the new cowl piece fits this version of Batman way more than on Keaton's (though I think I'm going to use the 2006 Type 1 cowl instead as the ears on that one are more accurate to the show with how they're curved). Joker is nearly perfect as well, but I would've personally have used the 2006 Joker hairpiece again, it fits BTAS Joker a lot more than that overused widow's peak hairpiece that just refuses to go away. It's a shame he didn't get a new hairpiece like his appearance in DC Super Villains, or at the very least, the new Beast hairpiece minus the pointed ears. And after over a decade since it last appeared at the very start of the DC theme/was reused for a Dimensions pack, Harley's jester outfit is back in minifigure form. I know the Rebirth minifigure with the blue/pink pigtails is based on Harley's modern look where she became her own person and broke away from Joker's influence...but the jester costume will always be the first thing I think of when I think of Harley Quinn. Man does this figure look amazing, it's like the 2008 minifigure but modernized with all the correct details this time (though I would've kept the blue eyes, it really made '08 Harley stand out). If there's one big thing that bothers me about this set though, it's definitely the sticker silhouettes because my god, why can't ANY of these be actual physical minifigures?! It's like teases for figures that'll never happen. It's bad enough that they threw in a sticker for Robin when he's not even coming in the summer BTAS sets, but the other stickers featuring new versions of Alfred, Gordon, a black and white suit Two-Face (using the exact same hairpiece as the original 2006 version so this one really hurts), Scarecrow, Riddler, Ra's al Ghul, Bane, Killer Croc, Ivy, etc. alongside brand new characters like Bullock and Montoya...and don't even get me started on the unmade villain stickers. The Ventriloquist and Scarface, a minifig version of Clayface, THE MAD HATTER (the last villain needed to complete the main villain roster from the first Lego Batman game after all these years!). Hell, they even went so far as to include stickers for Baby Doll and LOCK-UP. It's insane that Lego would do all these villain designs as stickers, yet the only one that's planning on showing up soon as a minifig is Mr. Freeze. Rant aside, I really can't wait to see the regular minifigure scale sets, especially the Batmobile. Here's hoping we get a second BTAS wave and this isn't just a one and done like the '66 Batmobile or Tumbler. Quote

The central building contains an entry room, prisoner property room, Psychiatrist's office, and guard armory. Above the rafters there is a small, hidden area for Batman to use for surveillance. Each wing has a roughly identical design, containing 7 normal cells, an environmentally controlled cell, two larger, more reinforced cells, and a watchtower. (For a total of 20 cells). Also includes a police car and prison van. Comes with Batman, Robin (Damian Wayne), Commissioner Gordon, 4x Arkham Guard, Harleen Quinzel, Hugo Strange, Aaron Cash, Joker (prison jumpsuit), Poison Ivy (prison jumpsuit), Male Inmate (face print implying it's zsaz), Female Inmate (face print implying it's Talia), Riddler (prison jumpsuit, bowler hat included), Two-Face (prison jumpsuit), Killer Croc (bigfig), Bane, Catwoman, Mr. Freeze, Ra's Al Ghul, Firefly, Deadshot, Killer Moth, and Hush. As amazing as this sounds and I'd would certainly want it Ill go back to the thing I bang on about everytime Arkham sets are mentioned. We need a modular Arkham like the Hogwarts system HP has been doing and is into its third version. Price points could vary from lowest to highest to please the widest amount of fans and they could connect together. Break your set up into smaller chunks that connect with a range of figures that would prob exceed how many you could fit even in a 500 set. The advantage it has over hogwarts is theres no set look for Arkham. You could have more modern areas, older areas, different cells for different characters in 10-20 price range. Doesn't even have to be part of the building to connect to the modular system. A GCPD car or Prison Transport could be a set. Something like this could go on for years giving us new sections, new characters (alongside your standard inclusions). Id honestly love them to do something like this designed well with how it connects than a giant expensive version (as great as that could be too) and the system doesnt even negate a giant set to gauge the fans wallets either. The only way we'd get the POSSIBILITY of Oa is if a Green Lantern show got as popular as CW flash was during it's heyday, or multiple movies in succession were fairly popular. I don't think we'd ever see coast city- there just aren't any remotely iconic locations involved, and the majority of popular green lantern events and stories are space based or massive events. Both superheroes themes fall within the same team, but generally speaking, designers work across a variety of themes. I do not believe the theme being worked on impacts designer pay as far as subject matter goes. The issue is certainly not that the designers are paid less, or busy with other themes. (I have to be honest, that second one really confuses me. Are you saying the reason we don't have more DC sets is the designers just... don't have time? Putting aside how DC's lawyers may feel about that, why wouldn't lego just hire more designers? Why would the amount of sets be based on time, rather than popularity or shelf space? I feel it's clear that the reason DC does not do well in lego is that lego believes DC sets based on the wider comics universe do not sell well, and likely have sales data backing it. WE might desperately want more comic-based DC sets, but that wider 6-12 demo doesn't seem to- which makes sense. Think about what kids have DC wise right now. The vast majority of DC movies recently have either been exceedingly unsuccessful or exceedingly mature. The only current DC cartoon aimed at lego's age range right now, and the only one available for some time, is Teen Titans Go. What we need, as has been discussed pretty endlessly here, is a new DC cartoon accessible to kids. For everything Gunn's put in play, I'm really surprised a new batman or justice league cartoon wasn't immediately put into the works. Quote

I want to say it came out in 2018. It doesn’t seem to have caught on. So it’s not as easy as just making a JL cartoon. They need to make a JL cartoon that will actually appeal to kids today, who seem more interested in watching YouTube and TikTok clips as opposed to an actual cartoon. Quote

There was- technically speaking- and it did release around the same time as some JL sets- but the episodes were only around 10 minutes, it was a pretty low-budget affair, and it either released on youtube, or was released poorly enough/did poorly enough that DC was fine releasing the entire series on youtube fairly quickly after official release. So I guess I should clarify- I think they need a normal budget, quality justice league/batman cartoon out with a wide release. Quote
