When was the last time we got a system scale set from DC over $100? Totally agree! (Though the Shadow box is not bad) As I said, BTAS Arkham (with Dr. Joan Leland minifigure) would've been awesome Sadly, 1822 pieces isn't quite enough for this... Quote
NovaBricks Posted March 26, 2024 Posted March 26, 2024 Tbh I'd rather this not be Arkham. Not enough pieces to do it justice. Arkham needs to be DC's Daily Bugle. Quote
legoturtle Posted March 26, 2024 Posted March 26, 2024 X-Men '97 is an American animated television series created by Beau DeMayo for the streaming service Disney+, based on the Marvel Comics superhero team X-Men. It is a revival of X-Men: The Animated Series (1992–1997), continuing from where that series ends. So was Marvel once again faster than DC? That show seems to be popular. AND we don't even have Batman: Caped Crusader. So that 200 euro / 200 dollar set could be from that Disney+ show. Quote

The new X-jet is, it's unknown whether or not the mansion is. Regardless @legoturtle, marvel's had TONS of animated shows over the last decade, this is nothing new. And the X-men already have a D2C coming, separate from the $200 D2C, which is supposed to be DC. Quote

But seeing that it’s already getting an X-mansion as a D2C, I doubt it. There’s also a major difference: X-men 97 is aged the same as most other marvel products. Batman: Caped Crusader is A: not out yet and B: going to be for a more mature audience apparently. As much as I would like Deadpool and Invincible sets, they like Batman: Caped Crusader are mature and therefore aren’t getting sets. Before you counter this with “But The Batman got sets.” Yes it did but movie tie-ins for house-hold heroes like Batman are going to be made no matter the age rating. An animated TV show doesn’t warrant as much representation in toys as a movie. Quote
Max_Lego Posted March 26, 2024 Posted March 26, 2024 BTW, people say the 1997 show was awful... But yeah, it's a DC thread... Am I the only TNBA fan in the world? OK, but why not make more BTAS sets then? Quote
legoturtle Posted March 26, 2024 Posted March 26, 2024 Good question... Shadow Box is Batman Returns set... that was like a horror movie. Still lego makes sets from it. Quote

An animated TV show doesn’t warrant as much representation in toys as a movie. All dependent on rating, I think. If Caped Cruscader is TV-PG or TV-14, it's got a good shot at sets. TV-MA- not happening. (Also, check out Firestar Toys for lego Invincible, one of the few times I've been tempted to get a custom fig.) 2 minutes ago, legoturtle said: Nice! I meant this: there is no need to post clips from TV shows here, because: 1) DC fans already watched it 2) Those, who haven't, can Google its name and watch themselves No offence, it's just my opinion. I am just one of the few people who likes TNBA. Everyone else hates it (though some agree that Batgirl from this show is better than the one from BTAS). But it aired in the end of the 90s, and isn't very popular, so TLG isn't going to make sets based on it... 13 minutes ago, Max_Lego said: My favourite. Yes, I am one of those... Full title: Batman (DC Superheroes) 2024 - Rumors & Discussion. We mainly discuss 2024 Lego sets here. It's a Lego forum. Other DC discussions are OK, but shouldn't dominate the thread As they said, there is a DC wishlist thread. There are no news or rumours of new DC sets. Yet we discuss something here. Are we stupid? If so, let's finally transform the thread into an Aslume! Quote
legoturtle Posted March 26, 2024 Posted March 26, 2024 Well... 7 sets so far. 2 of them has images. 5 sets we don't know yet. I haven't bought any of those. 212401: Batman and Mega Mech looks stupid. Big set 76271: Batman: The Animated Series Gotham City is somehow unclear. Definitely no no no ... VERY BIG disappointment :/ Quote

legoturtle Posted March 26, 2024 Posted March 26, 2024 Well I think so too. I am waiting a batman book from Amazon. BECAUSE summer sets are so far away. Maybe I have to take some words back... LIVE! this looks quite ok? What you people think... not so bad after all. JUST different. Quote
DaredevilFan Posted March 26, 2024 Posted March 26, 2024 mtdbricks on his latest post about x-mansion confirmed that the $200 set is DC. So at least if it’s disappointing it’ll be DC not marvel 😂 Quote

While it was a superhero cartoon, I don't think it was something kids were watching a la the DCAU back in the day. Which reinforces the notion that what lego DC needs for any sort of comic-based sets is a mainline cartoon aimed at kids to keep Batman in their mind. I guess you're right, but still, would have been nice! So many characters and designs from that show are exciting and easy to pull off for a company that hates arm and leg printing lol. But I guess it is right to accept that this opportunity has passed. Also, is there any truth behind this rumor for a large DC set coming later this year? I heard it mentioned in this thread some pages back but haven't heard of this otherwise. If this is true, it would be fun to get another DC set but wish it was more affordable. Instead of 2 late sets I would have enjoyed a handful of 30-50 dollar sets. Still, it's nice to get just about anything from this theme. Feels like every other year they're on the brink of ending the license. On that note, isn't it weird how they retired "Lego DC" just to have a Lego Batman line, but they kept the DC tag under themes alive? like there's a Batman tag under the themes page on their website, but also the DC tag is still there? I assume its because of that Wonder Woman key chain, it's the only remnant of the old DC line still up. Maybe when that key chain retires, the DC tag will be scrapped? I wonder if there's any hope for the original DC logo to be brought back. Edit: Not really relevant since its unlikely to happen but the main hero from Dreamz has a hairpiece which I think would work well for a comic based Aqualad or even Static Shock. Okay final edit, but I think the issue with these Batman cowls is the fact that they keep being produced as individual pieces separate from the cape. I think I realize now that the bug eyes look really large but the gap between the bottom of the cowl, Batman's neck, and the cape, help accentuate the large eyes of the cowl. I believe the Batman 80 figure was the only one to have the cape and cowl molded as one piece (rubbery plastic) and I think this produces the best Batman figures. Even if not in the exact styling of the Michael Keaton Batman, I think future Batman figures should be inspired by his figure and have the cowl and cape be one piece. That gap on the neck seems to be a huge factor in the awkward factor for this figure. Edited March 27, 2024 by cosmic Quote
