Could be Batman (1), Nightwing (2), Batgirl (3), Blackbat (4), RedHood (5), Batman Beyond (6), Owlman (7), Thomas Wayne Flashpoint batman (8). Almost definitely not that though. Quote

It's probably the only remaining bat vehicle I'd consider getting at UCS scale. Quote
ToaDraco Posted January 20, 2024 Posted January 20, 2024 (edited) Man, it's depressing to see the leaked lists for dc sets anymore. "Here's a handful of batman sets for the year and maybe half of them are minifig-scale system sets with batman and the same few villains over and over with yet another version of the batmobile or batwing" I wonder how much longer LEGO is going to even bother keeping the license considering it's been on life-support for years. I have some hope James Gunn's DCU films might breath some life back into the franchise but I wonder if even that would be enough to convince LEGO to make propper DC sets again. Like, all I want at this point is a proper King Shark bigfig like the one from the LEGO DC Supervillains game but it's never going to happen... Edited January 20, 2024 by ToaDraco Quote
THELEGOBATMAN Posted January 20, 2024 Posted January 20, 2024 76274 is definitely the Batmobile. The piece count is just right. The pricing is ridiculous tho — 76274 has 435 pieces and costs 60€, but with 76273 for 10€ more you get 258 pieces more? I really hope the latter is not another crappy gimmick. Quote
cosmic Posted January 20, 2024 Posted January 20, 2024 I can't help but be very excited for a rumored $70 and $60 set. We haven't really gotten those price points in recent years. With the Batmobile and Batwing still being on shelves I hope we see some new material for the $40 set as well. I can't help but be a bit pessimistic as well, seeing as the company has been notorious for not exploring new concepts for sets, not exploring new characters, heck not even trying new variants of the few characters they juggle. Still, there is hope maybe they have taken in some of the feedback? Who knows. I personally want to see a new big fig Bane. TLBM version of Bane is not quite comic accurate since it has the Nolanverse coat. So I'd like to see a figure for the comic fans like me where that ugly coat is not present lol. Poison ivy gets drawn a million different ways these days definitely wouldn't hurt to see which of those many source images the company would choose to pull from. Never got Harleys Hyenas which would be a convenient mould to bleed into City Safari sets... so while they may not use ALL of this themes unused potential, we have 3 decent sized sets coming that may make meaningful contributions. The $60 set, with its piece count of 435, seems like it has a good chance of being a Batmobile, if a rather expensive one. Hopefully it'd have more than two minifigures like many of the previous Batmobile sets over the past few years had. The TLBM Batmobile was $60 and had five minifigures, though I doubt we'll be seeing that level of generosity. The $40 set is a 4+ set with 180 pieces, so I'm not expecting much from the build. Maybe it could contribute a unique minifigure or two. The $70 set is what interests me the most, as it seems like it has the most potential for a strong build and minifigure selection. Quote

This theme currently is LEGO Batman. Not LEGO DC – LEGO Batman. Compared to what we've gotten in the past (like TLBM sets), the sets we're getting now and repetitive and lacklustre. What I meant by the other half of my comment is that the theme would become fresh and interesting again if they expanded to DC characters who aren't Batman and Joker. They will never make better Batman sets than TLBM ones, so using various DC characters will solve that problem, as they won't have to be better than those sets, because they will be different enough. 10 minutes ago, icm said: Since 2017, Batman has had: A UCS 1989 Batmobile A UCS 1989 Batwing A UCS 1992 Bat cave A UCS 2008 Tumbler Highly detailed minifig play models of the 1989 Batmobile 1966 Batmobile 1989 Batwing 2005 Tumbler 2022 Batmobile And the excellent Batwing, Batmobile, GCPD police car, Riddler helicopter, and GWP Batmobile in the 2019 Batman 80th anniversary wave I'll grant that the sheer number and variety of Batman vehicles and characters peaked in 2017-18 with the TLBM sets, but Batman has hardly been getting scraps ever since! Okay, but like... you listed six Batmobiles, two Batwings and a Batcave. Those are literally the only things we're getting out of this theme. Not only did LEGO DC suddenly become LEGO Batman, but they are using only two vehicles and five characters from the vast lore of this character. Quote

Usual play sets of that price usually have a smaller age range, and most of the 12+ sets of this price that I can find on Lego.com are display sets, like the mini princess castles. I don't have high hopes for that set. Quote

Most of the Arkham games are rated T (with Knight being rated M), so that could be an issue, but there are a wide enough range of villains, Batsuits, and Bat-vehicles that LEGO could easily get a few solid waves out of the franchise. I want Batgirl with dual molded legs and leg printing!! Like seriously I want a Barbara Gordon Batgirl that is complete. We haven't got Lucius Fox, Batwing, Spoiler or Cassandra Cain so we still have supporting cast to receive. We've also never got Green Ivy, or comic big fig Bane. So variants of existing figures..... but then we still have Professor Pig (unlikely I know), Hush, Black Mask, Mad Hatter, and Scarface as well!
