Compared to what we've gotten in the past (like TLBM sets), the sets we're getting now and repetitive and lacklustre. What I meant by the other half of my comment is that the theme would become fresh and interesting again if they expanded to DC characters who aren't Batman and Joker. They will never make better Batman sets than TLBM ones, so using various DC characters will solve that problem, as they won't have to be better than those sets, because they will be different enough. Okay, but like... you listed six Batmobiles, two Batwings and a Batcave. Those are literally the only things we're getting out of this theme. Not only did LEGO DC suddenly become LEGO Batman, but they are using only two vehicles and five characters from the vast lore of this character. I think the biggest problem is that if they were willing to do the wider DC Universe, they would also be willing to do ANYTHING ELSE with Batman than six Batmobiles. There is at least a correlation between great Batman sets and things like the Javelin, Fortress of Solitude, the CMFs and various sets that merely featured Batman as a guest to what was a Green Lantern set, Aquaman set, and so on. A reasonable assumption at least is the line started doing worse and they started playing it safer. Not enough people wanted Bat Truck, Black Manta's sub, or even a movie Batcave so now it is all classic Batmobiles. Batman is supposed to sell well enough to support everything else ig? Still working for Spinmaster as far as my brief familiarity with that line goes, and those target maybe even younger children and less adults? Purely vibes based I am not working in both of those company's data-analysis departments. But it seems harder to find info because its for kids while adults have Mafex, McFarlane and so on. But in the past few years they have had plenty of Justice Leaguers, Bronze Tiger, King Shark, all while mostly producing Batman figures. And even that means doing a black suit Joker instead of a purple one. Idk about everyone else but even a different costume makes getting another Joker interesting. We got a Joker without a jacket one time and him in his waistcoat is a pretty well-known Joker look. --- Would love some Arkham stuff. Some stuff (Harley and Ivy) I cannot see happening, but if the Batman line is just hitting the classics now I think there's room for something Arkham. Even if I am wishing an Asylum Batmobile with Batman, Joker and the sign into existence. Aaron Cash too. Maybe some things that are not a bat vehicle too (the Two-Face courthouse is honestly already a Lego playset. Vat of acid with someone dangling over it, tightrope across the room, if it was not in the source material people would accuse a Two-Face playset where the building is split aesthetically like him as being too much. That sounds too interesting though when was the last time we got a villain playset. Quote

You gotta respect the commitment The year is 2030. Fans eagerly await the newest batman set, the only one of the year- a 5-in-1 between the batmobile, batcycle, batwing, batman brickheadz, and batman buildible figure. There are no figures included. Edit: I'm just joking of course- the theme won't exist in 2030. Edited January 21, 2024 by Mandalorianknight Quote

legoturtle Posted January 21, 2024 Posted January 21, 2024 Hello all, I have tried to find information that are we going to get a Batman animated show? BECAUSE it seems that 1 of the sets it related to that show? AND is there coming some kind of show before that Animated series... another animation series? Quote

There is little information on this project. They claim it would be BTAS as Timm initially wanted it to be; it's going to be noir, violent and shocking. I am especially excited about the last part Quote
legoturtle Posted January 21, 2024 Posted January 21, 2024 Well, also it seems to be for adults? like the upcoming lego set? I have heard that it is like a painting you put on wall. Art... Quote

None of the sets should be based off the upcoming Batman caped crusader show Quote

BrickBob Studpants Posted January 21, 2024 Posted January 21, 2024 (edited) @TandNbricks dropped some snippets of information in his AMA on IG: Mr Freeze and Harley show up The wave include bikes, Batmobiles, and a Batcave Correction: He was talking about 2024 in general, not only the April/June sets. So this could also concern the October D2C set, in case it’s a DC one Edited January 21, 2024 by BrickBob Studpants Quote
spiderfan2000 Posted January 21, 2024 Posted January 21, 2024 My guess is that the $15 set has the Batcycle and either a villain bike or the Redbird, the $40 set is a 4+ Batmobile, the $60 set is a standard Batmobile, and the $70 set is the Batcave. Quote

No, these sets are heavily rumored to be based on the 90s animated series Batman: The Animated Series. As a side note, I don't think we get anything from caped cruscader directly- the best we'll get is some sets loosely inspired by it a year or two after it's release- if it does release. This new show has been in production hell for awhile, and if lego isn't comfortable making sets for hundred-million-dollar films from DC, it's highly unlikely they'll put sets out to tie into a new animated show, especially one with a production as troubled as this. I wonder if this wave will be a test to see how it sells and we could see more BTAS sets in the future or this is something as a one off for 2024. Quote
THELEGOBATMAN Posted January 21, 2024 Posted January 21, 2024 Never thought I'd be so happy to hear we're getting a new Batcave. This wave, for a Batman theme, sounds pretty solid. At least it's not three Batmobiles with Batman and Joker. The Batcave is the one I'm definitely anticipating the most. The number of pieces for the price is surprisingly good, and it's also fairly cheap, I think the cheapest Batcave yet. Hope we get more villains than Joker, Harley and Freeze tho. Poison Ivy and Bane would be really welcome imo (provided they obviously won't include any new ones, like Mad Hatter). Quote
Kaijumeister Posted January 21, 2024 Posted January 21, 2024 (edited) I’ve never owned a Lego Batcave, somehow the ones we’ve gotten over the past 12 years never hit the mark for me. Given the overall quality of sets as of late, I’m actually optimistic this upcoming one will finally hook me. Edited January 21, 2024 by Kaijumeister Quote

I think the "The Batman" batcave was the same price, but I refuse to call it a batcave- I like the movie, but man that is a TRAIN STATION WITH A JAIL CELL, not a batcave. I'm still holding out hope Phantasm is included, to the extent she counts as a villain, since she has been hinted at and she's never been on-screen since the DCAU, so it's not like she's gonna show up in evergreen sets. I'd say same ( though I did get the Pattison batcave but it's more of a Bat-trainstation ) but my reasons for not getting any of the older ones was more budget that thinking they didn't hit the mark. I still think that a batcave with a Wayne manor on top would be the ultimate batman set. Quote

I totally agree with you. And it would be a great idea to finally insert a decent Alfred minifigure in such a set. IMHO , we didn't get a decent Alfred since 2006. Quote
