Guys, what you think of this clip / this movie? I somehow think I should by it (Apple TV).

To me this is one of the best DC films out there and one of my favourite films of all. I like old war films and this was a great homage to some of the classics, as well as a brilliant piece of cinematography.

price per piece might be a fan made thing but it is incredibly important.

So it is also same if part is small or part is big or part is grey or let say Violet?

Who are those guys? Are they from Batman universe? I think some of them are in TLBM?

Polka-Dot Man is a Batman villain, Harley is Harley, King Shark first appeared in Superboy, Bloodsport in Superman. Rick Flag is the Suicide Squad team leader. Peacemaker was from a different company called Charlton before DC bought it out and had his own series as an antihero. Javelin was from Green Lantern, Weasel was in Firestorm. Savant first faced the Birds of Prey. TDK is a variation of a Legion of Super Heroes character. Captain Boomerang is a Flash Rogue. Mongal is from Superman. Ratcatcher II was created for the film but is the daughter of a Batman villain. Blackguard was in Booster Gold. The Thinker was a villain of the original Golden Age Flash. Starro was the first adversary of the Justice League. Amanda Waller is a villain to pretty much everyone.

Yes they are from the same universe as batman.

Captain Boomerang, Polkadot man, Harley Quinn and Calendar Man are in both this film and The Lego Batman Movie.

War is involved.

It definitely earns it's 15 rating, honestly closer to an 18 than most 15 superhero movies.

That's the average price of each piece in the set. If you sold the pieces individually some would be worth more than others, depending on rarity, popularity, and size.

It's not so much a war film as it is evocative of films like The Dirty Dozen or Kelly's Heroes. An ensemble cast that won't all make it through to the end.

Well yes and no.

I’m not sure whether you’ve studied history… But basically think of the premise of this film as loosely inspired by the CIA’s numerous attempts to overthrow Castro’s Communist regime in Cuba during the Cold War. For example: The Bay of Pigs Fiasco.

Essentially there’s this US government program called Task Force X where the government uses the supervillains they have locked up in prisons (The titular suicide squad) to do their dirty work. Such as overthrowing legitimate but anti-American governments. Or retrieving/ destroying incriminating evidence of American activities that wouldn’t make the US look good on the world stage. Which is the premise of the film.

In short the Suicide Squad is a super powered commando team that’s been sent to remove threats to US national security in a foreign country that has recently had an anti-American revolution.

Well, first of all... piece count is fan made thing which does NOT mean much.

Then you can count weight of the set BUT once again... a fan made stuff...

I would say that TBAS Batmobile is 1 off the best DC sets ever made. If you don't like it "Earth Blue" fix it something else? 1 of the best things is that is for DISPLAY but also for PLAY. That is something I hope we see more in the future!

I mean... they're both real ways of measuring a set's value, if neither is fully accurate alone. But either way, you can just look at the prices of these batmobiles in comparison to eachother. In 2019 we had a $30 batmobile with batman and joker. In 2023 we had one not much larger, still with batman and joker, for almost $50. In 2024 we throw in Harley and suddenly it's $60. These prices are jumping faster than inflation- and that's not easy to pull off in the US with how badly inflation's gone.

Zero. Mostly because he’s only been in one set over the last 5 years. And that wasn’t even Dick Grayson. (Or my favourite Tim Drake)

All my homies hate Damian.

I've spoken a lot about how the movie has this sort of casual nihilism I dislike, and I'm generally not a fan of excessively vulgar content. That said, it's at least better than the 2016 one, which had a lot of the same issues but also no king shark.

Hand.

Semi unrelated, but how does this correlate to lego sets for you guys? Lego seems to never make sets off movies that would be R-rated in america, but those can slide between 15 and 18 in other countries, right? Are there 15 movies that lego's made sets off?

Yeah, that makes sense. I'm pretty sure if Batman wasn't the star, we wouldn't get sets for that. The thumb drive, the rat torture (though I don't think we actually see it), the particular business the iceberg lounge girls are involved with (which I think included Selina? I don't remember), etc.

Thank [insert deity of your choosing]. Had we seen the result, the movie would‘ve been R-rated, no doubt about it  I’ve seen actual R-rated stuff far less gruesome than that :laugh_hard: When that scene played out, I thought „we have bloody playsets for this movie?!“

I think we need a RANKIG SYSTEM?

...

- What a bout if we create our own. You can pick 10 sets and put them in order 1-10. NOW ... number 1 gets (10) points, number 2 (9 points), number 3 (7 points) and so on...

- then we make TOP-50 LIST ... we count total points and then AVERAGE! ,,, this won't be so difficult after all.

- Batman, DC Super Heroes, TLBM, CMF figures and all Batman & DC related sets...

Well, I have quite many Robin minifigures. 1 of my favourite from TLBM. I try to collect whole theme.

My favourite DC movie. I adore it.

Lego has made sets based of off way more than 15 different movies ( sorry I had to)

But as @CloneCommando99 has basically said: yes, some other examples include:

Stranger things, Horizon Zero Dawn ( technically it's a 16 as games have a different system ( which is far less lenient)), Andor ( well it's 15 on the Blu-ray but D+ calls it a 12), Seinfeld ( though episodes are rated individually so it varies but a complete set obviously always goes with highest rating)

Whilst it's not my personal favourite ( TLBM is) it is also in the upper echelons for me too. It was a bit vulgar for my prudish sensibilites at points but it was good enough for me to look past that.

I'm pretty sure no other Robin has developed Batman so much as a character, so respect the goat.

I'm fairly sure we've discussed it already at some point, but I'll still ask — how?

In what way does the movie casually suggest that life is meaningless, that there are no genuine moral values, etc.

Made this right now, glancing at all the sets using Brickset. It's kinda random, some spots are interchangeable, but that's the final list:

1. The Riddler Riddle Racer

2. Scarecrow Harvest of Fear

3. Egghead Mech Food Fight

4. The Joker Notorious Lowrider

5. The Scuttler

6. The Animated Series Gotham City

7. The Justice League Anniversary Party

8. The Joker Manor

9. Catwoman Catcyle Chase

10. Gorilla Grood Goes Bananas

As the other people have said, its a stupidly expensive price for the size of it

You're fortunate if it doesn't seem so

About what I'd expect- though I'm a little surprised Seinfield has a 15 rating, unless other legoized sitcoms like The Office and Big Bang Theory also do. I haven't seen all of it, but it never seemed any more crass than your average sitcom of that type to me.

If I was mentioning Chima, it would be "Big firestorm in the pits of hell that are Chima"

Yeah no honestly I don't actually hate him, I was just referencing the trope of hating Damian/him being the worst robin (which out of the main 4.... yeah, probably. But nothing wrong with 4th place when the four competitors are all pretty solid). And yeah, I'm excluding Stephanie. She's a good spoiler, but she was robin for such a short amount of time it just feels unfair.

Dick Grayson. Maybe Jason too, at least in terms of his death. But like I said, I don't legitimately hate damian.

I could go through other parts, but the main thing that sticks out to me- which I know I've talked about here before- is Bloodsport and Peacemaker murdering a village of rebels who turned out to be good guys, and then it's just kind of.... dropped? Peacemaker's given a more villanous role and overall is portraying a stereotype of the american military, so it's fine for him, but we're supposed to root for bloodsport, and it's not played for much more than laughs.

53 € from that set is almost free I would say. AND please remember also the COLOUR matter. Dark blue is more expensive than black.

TY <3 The LEGO Batman from your list. We really need a LEGO ranking system like IMDb has from movies. (Top 250 Movies)

https://m.imdb.com/chart/top/

If you've got the disposable income that $53 on a lego set is "almost free", that's genuinely great for you, but it's not the case for a lot of us. In which case, if you already have some batmobiles, you may not be inclined to get a more expensive one that looks pretty similar and is about the same size.

Also.... what? I don't think I've EVER heard about specific lego colors being more expensive than others. I'm sure there's some fluctuation between the plastic colors used, but to the extent it significantly alters the price of a set? Maybe drumlaquer or something, but not the color itself? Where did you hear that?

No Dick is the first Robin. Damian is the forth. Damian is not a Dick.

Dick Grayson: Taught Batman how to start acting like a father figure and to lighten up sometimes.

Jason Todd: Taught Batman that maybe making random orphans Robin isn’t the wisest decision. (Too late as Bruce Wayne sponsors all of Gotham’s Robin Barracks… sorry I mean orphanages)

Tim Drake: Taught Batman to move on from his fears of losing another Robin, the need to hide his identity better and the importance of trust and teamwork.

Damian Wayne: Taught Batman that Ninja Swords go brrrrrrr.

One of the redeeming qualities of the current Batman run is that it shows Tim to be the smart, helpful and sympathetic Robin. Whilst Damian immediately joins forces with the robot imposter Batman because he finally starts agreeing with Damian’s more extremist ideas.
Jokes aside, like @Mandalorianknight, I don’t hate Damian. He’s just not the best Robin IMO.

Chima referenced!!! 🗣️🗣️🗣️🗣️🗣️

Thanks to the new season of Ninjago: “Somehow Chima returned.” I’m sorry that it wasn’t Bionicle that was resurrected. But maybe they’re next. And then Nexo Knights.

2012's Tim Drake, 2014's Damian Wayne, 2015's New52 Dick Grayson, 2018's Damian Wayne

TLBM Robin, 2014's Nightwing, 2016's Nightwing.

ok, that is nice collection! ... probably my most expensive Robin is 1966 batcave. I have all those figures and some of them double.

...

About that 53 €. I am saying that TBAS Batmobile price is fine. You get 3 quite amazing minifigures. BIG car. Stand. AND even big sticker for display. Package is ok too.
