I decided to do this thread because I am tired to open new ones again and again, so enough speaking about me lets go for the almost MOCs. It seems that we are on dumpers time because I am working on this massive small truck.

It will be very simple, only 2 axles steering and bed tipping but I had some problems... the angle and weigh of the bed due the lack of room when the steering work, bed itself also was a problem with technic parts and the scheme color will be a imposible to solve problem at least for the real MOC. I think I do not have to say which the truck is.

Jorge, before I comment your new baby dump truck, I suggest you to make something like Jorge's technic corner, and ask @Milan to integrate your previous MOCs (and their  development) into new tread.

Interesting concept with steering. Honestly I never noticed such steering on real machine, but I didn't see everything...

kind regards

I am taking good advices too slowly  , to integrate all my old stuff in a single thread is too much work even just being only the finished MOCs  and it is not really necessary. The truck is the biggest dumper in the world the Belaz 75710, it is not the first one with a 8 wheels configuration but its steering is rare for sure, another truck with 8 wheels is the Payhauler 180 or the 350, both of them prettier than the Belaz but they are smaller dumpers.

When mining dump trucks are about, I have very limited knowledge; usually limited to some Liebherr or CAT models (sometime Terex occured to my mind), but generally they are out of my scale...closest to your models I can get is probably 1:18 scaled Volvo front loader 220 that I plan very long ago based on my 42030 set, but could fix cable issue on XL motor only few months ago and have very turbulent (and chaotic) time last year...

It is kind of interesting, but for my taste, this is one of the ugliest machinery ever created :D

How well does the dump bed rise with the 2 small LAs? In the base position, you need a very high force, thats why the cylinders in the original model are nearly vertical.

The bed has a no problem at all and I am even thinking about lowering the reduction to get more speed, it is not slow right now but I will try to see what happens. The good thing about doing ugly machines is that nobody will notice that I can not do nice ones  . I did more little changes...

It is not a very nice vehicle but it looks cool!

With the dump bed on top of the HOG it becomes a bit difficult to access... the HOG could be a knob wheel and then you could put another HOG on top of the dump bed?

I test it and It works good even for my big hands, I Will do a short video with the 2 functions It has. I do not like very much the idea of another HOG but you never know.

@jorgeopesi Hi! If you need the real pictures of that BelAZ - just let me know, I hope i still have several. The factory was 40 mins by car from my previous city of life.

I am trying different scheme colours but it is almost done and I am having problems with the cabin as usual. It will have around 600 pieces with just 2 functions... 4 counting the 2 liftarm stairs on the front  , they are a few funtions but the steering works on two double wheel axles...

As usual...

(This could easily be official set Jorge)

Thanks but using just 7 round bricks on a Technic set it is not in the plans of Lego Technic nowadays  but I understand you  . I am wainting for the coming cabin challenge... :cry_sad: .

Hi again, now I am back to tatras... I always wanted to improve my old ones and make instructions. The first one will be the Tatra kolos and now it has ackermann steering with a better suspension and the other old things like 8x8 drive, and different steering angles between first and second axle, another new thing is that I can put a 12v fake engine but we will see. My intention is make a one piece bodiwork for cover all the mechanism that it could be changed for another bodywork for example a trial truck one. It was 5 hardwork days so far  because this tatra is very narrow (less than 17 studs)  but I am quite satisfied--- unfortunately the instructions will be a nightmare... Now the most difficult part for me... the bodywork...

IMHO the most difficilt part are axles that use longitudinal differential at such scale (17studs wide)

You are right my friend but the steering is other big problem in tatras and mine has a perfect geometric steering and on top of that I added the ackermann mode  . I have to say that mine tatras have simmetrical axles but this it is my own problem :classic: .

Well, I have similar problem, only with 21 studs overall width over (94.3x38 Unimog) tires... I had some prototypes and the PF Servo stopped working :ugh:

Now I have to figure out how to make it work with PF Large motor and have 3 steering modes...not yo mention to minimise slack...

I suffered the same today, It was not my intention to use the lego control, It is the first time I use it, my first idea was to use the power functions but my receptors are damaged in the wire, long time without use them and the wire broke.

A bit offtopic; XL motors can be fixed, but I can not open them without damage because plastic is old and brittle, so those pins in motors are not usable, so I have to stiffen them with two 1 x 6 thin liftarms on both sides. On the other hand M-motor has a screw on underside and can be easily taken apart. Only Large motors don't have those cable issues. I'll probably take Servos apart when I make a model where they are not seen and can be reinforced...so far only 2 work, but are mounted on axles which I don't plan to put apart.
