Posted January 9, 20241 yr Happy new year! I could not resist... this is my answer to TLC Orient Express! I while ago I was messing around with the famous bayrische S3/6. But I never was quite happy with my solution of the streamlined cabine design. TLC Orient Express gave me the kick I needed to switch over towards the simpler BR 18.5 - 18.6 design in order to build a full consist of the famous german Rheingold. It is easy to see that the concept of the loco is widely based on my latest well proved BR 01 design and the concept of the wagons was stolen from my F-Zug. Due to the big cylinders and the length of the wagons this model is restricted to big radi. http://DRG BR 18 with Rheingold Express SIMON JAKOBI by Simon Jakobi, auf Flickr http://DRG BR 18 with Rheingold Express SIMON JAKOBI by Simon Jakobi, auf Flickr http://DRG BR 18 with Rheingold Express SIMON JAKOBI by Simon Jakobi, auf Flickr http://DRG BR 18 with Rheingold Express SIMON JAKOBI by Simon Jakobi, auf Flickr
January 11, 20241 yr Purple on a train? It's such a crazy idea, but it looks so good! Keep up the good work!

January 17, 20241 yr Author I really like this color sceme. Of course dark blue would be nice too but I think purple is closer. There were several other trains in such a livery. Check out DR 877 ("Fliegender Hamburger"), DR 137 or the "Henschel-Wegmann-Zug"!
January 31, 20241 yr Author I have good news... Martin from Bricks on Rails will provide instructions!!! Here are some more renders... http://Rheingold Express Simon Jakobi by Simon Jakobi, auf Flickr http://Rheingold Express Simon Jakobi by Simon Jakobi, auf Flickr http://Rheingold Express Simon Jakobi by Simon Jakobi, auf Flickr
