RedBrick1 Posted January 25, 2024 Author Posted January 25, 2024 Two weeks to go before crowdfunding begins on Series 1! Quote
RichardGoring Posted January 25, 2024 Posted January 25, 2024 I wish there were more photos of the train shed, from more angles. I really like it, but it took me a while to realize just how big it is. The photos' angles make it look much smaller and cozy, not a really long shed. It's lovely, but I think it's too big for me to get. Brick Cross Station on the other hand... It will be mine! Quote
RedBrick1 Posted February 5, 2024 Author Posted February 5, 2024 Crowdfunding for Series 1 begins in less than two days. Series 4 sets up for voting now with lots of Trains related submissions. Quote
and_ampersand_and Posted February 5, 2024 Posted February 5, 2024 Both of these were in Series 3 but didn't make it. Jefry Been Posted February 7, 2024 Posted February 7, 2024 Hello and welcome to support my 2 Railroad Signal Boxes on Bricklink Designer Program 4! Space78 Posted February 8, 2024 Posted February 8, 2024 (edited) Just pre-ordered the Old Train Shed. Beautiful design. I limited myself to one, but would have liked two had the price been lower. Can't wait to get this one. Personally, I'm not overly thrilled with the train items in series 2. Lots of interesting stuff in series 4. We'll see if one train item makes it! Toxic43 Posted February 8, 2024 Posted February 8, 2024 @Space78 Same here. Ordered one, but would have loved a second. The Logging Railway seems like it will be a chore to build, and has a lot of parts that aren't really necessary for the train to function as a train. I'm not about display pieces and so for me it's a miss, because it will be twice as expensive for including raised track I won't build. The Brick Cross Train Station looks interesting, but at the price points the current lot are going for I'm not as interested as the Train Shed. Quote

I just wish the American Steam Loco had a few more view angles. It's hard to see all of the details. Quote
Fenghuang0296 Posted February 8, 2024 Posted February 8, 2024 I can’t quite tell from the pictures; how offset is Brick Cross Station from the baseplate of the Modular? I have a line of track running behind some Modulars with three studs of overlap. If I can’t make that work I have no interest, but if I can then I’m excited. Quote
Murdoch17 Posted February 8, 2024 Posted February 8, 2024 (edited) Not much longer now - Old train engine shed is so nearly sold out, I can't discern any visible space left on the bar with my computer monitor. EDIT: 1 hour later and it's gone! Edited February 8, 2024 by Murdoch17 Quote

Agree, the logging train could have been interesting, but the raised trestle bridge would be very repetitive and a significant portion of the build, which will push the price up. I'm surprised it made it through review. The designer should have skipped the bridge and made a more interesting engine. 9 hours ago, zephyr1934 said: I just skimmed the series 4 yesterday and both of those stood out (before seeing this post and without realizing they were series 3 too). RedBrick1 Posted March 21, 2024 Author Posted March 21, 2024 It's great to see more Trains representation in the latest wave! I was pulling for some of the others over the western train, but I do understand why this could be a hot seller. Quote
RedBrick1 Posted May 2, 2024 Author Posted May 2, 2024 Official renders and pricing released for the next wave. The Brickcross Station is a must have for me. https://www.bricklink.com/v3/designer-program/series-2/main.page Quote

SerperiorBricks Posted June 18, 2024 Posted June 18, 2024 (edited) https://flic.kr/p/2pY9QVG Up Close with the BDP Logging Railway At Brickworld Chicago, I was able to get some close-up video (but forgot to take pictures!!) with the BDP Logging Railway. The staff working the booth said that they will be working with a LUG to create a model that extends the Trestle all the way down from table height to the floor. (They said which LUG but I didn't write it down) In conversation with the BL rep, I asked if there would be any possibility to provide sectional instructions (maybe 2x 'layers' each) to help out builders that might want to build something between the set and 3' of trestle. He said it should be possible, and he will get in contact with the Designer to see if they can make some layers of instructions. Some Set Info: - Intended Radius is around R220, and connects pretty seamlessly to LEGO Rail pieces if you position them right (though you would of course need to meet the height of the track - The tiles that make up the rail, surprisingly having passed LEGO's quality check for the use case, are very sturdy, even for heavier or fast-moving trains. - The Trestle can be flexed, and built to be a straight line or extended to an even larger radius. A single set of the cross-bar hoses on the Trestle provides adequate strength, but when the second set of hoses is attached on the opposite side, it is significantly sturdy. Though I do not have any stats on picking the thing up. For display purposes, they weren't exactly picking the thing up and swinging it around. Edited June 18, 2024 by SerperiorBricks Quote
Space78 Posted June 18, 2024 Posted June 18, 2024 Saw that at Brickworld-Chicago also. It was also great to see the other sets, especially the train station, since I ordered one before it sold out. It looks as good in person as it does in the pictures on BL. Quote
Murdoch17 Posted June 18, 2024 Posted June 18, 2024 I must be stupid or something - I never thought the bridge could be straightened out! ...I just figured it was stuck at a strange angle forever. (Shows what I know!) I now want it, but my finances are such I don't know if I'll have the money in my account when it ships... so I guess it will stay just a dream. Quote
hrdknxbrix Posted July 21, 2024 Posted July 21, 2024 For anyone who is interested in the Wild West Train, the designer has the station submitted to Ideas. The building in the lower left: Quote
RedBrick1 Posted August 6, 2024 Author Posted August 6, 2024 New submission guidelines. New rules also ban modular-style buildings, so the Brick Cross station slipped in just in time. "Avoid highlighting fossil fuels like coal, oil, and gas (e.g. depicting refineries, fuel storage or gas stations). It’s acceptable to showcase historical methods of transportation that rely on fossil fuels (e.g. steam locomotives). Modern vehicles need to adhere to this guideline, therefore the propulsion method should be ambiguous if it is not a sustainable power source." Quote
RedBrick1 Posted January 9 Author Posted January 9 Updated with the official render of the Old West Train. Another good year shaping up for Trains fans! Quote
