Sopelq Posted January 18, 2024 Posted January 18, 2024 Hi, my name is Lukasz and I'm new here. Nice to meet you :-) When I was a kid the Lego Pirate theme was my favorite and honestly still is so I decided to try my hand at designing this ship. It is a remake of 6274 Caribbean Clipper released in 1989. My goal was to combine the key features and elements of the original set with the shapes we know from the current Pirate's Barracuda ship. I did my best to keep good proportions and taste trying to not overdo. I added some my ideas and designed a round back windows to have something new and fresh in the model. Please forgive me the lack of cloth sails and strings, but it was very difficult for me to draw them. I hope you like it and you can imagine the ship with all strings and cloth sails. NOD Posted January 18, 2024 Posted January 18, 2024 Lukasz welcome to Eurobricks. A well-done new build of the Caribbean Clipper 6274. It is a little longer has a gun deck and a main deck. I like the ship's bow and stern. Quote
deraven Posted January 19, 2024 Posted January 19, 2024 Welcome to EB, Lukasz! It's a nice looking ship, and I like the bit of shaping you added to the hull with the slopes. Looking forward to seeing more of your MOCs. Happy building! Quote

-DoNe- Posted May 28, 2024 Posted May 28, 2024 What a great remake! The classic feel is well captured yet the overall design is distinctly modern. Very well done. Quote

I've just added brick sails only to show how it would look like with cloth sails. https://www.flickr.com/gp/199985278@N06/j9ca747ss2 Edited July 11, 2024 by Sopelq Quote
thewatchman Posted July 11, 2024 Posted July 11, 2024 I absolutely love this design. Would you consider a rebrickable file? Quote
YellowFrog Posted August 4, 2024 Posted August 4, 2024 Looks great, it's always good to see a classic set reimagined. Two things: the blue wall could do with a shield or detailing of some sort, and are those pre-molded boat hulls? Quote

Regarding blue wall it looks more classic to me without any shields etc. Quote
OlDesparado Posted October 1, 2024 Posted October 1, 2024 Very Nice build, love how you stayed true to the original. Quote
