needyblue Posted January 20, 2024 Posted January 20, 2024 (edited) After a long time I started another project. And here is the result. The City-Comedy-Club is a american 80s style modular building. The ground floor is the comedy-club entrance, a small alleyway to the backside and a pizza-store. From the entrance you can go upstairs to the club. There is a stage with a microphone for the comedian and some seats for the audience. On the left side is a backward entrance to the apartment. The attic is upstairs. This is the astronomy nerd's room, with his telescope and his computer. More Pics on my Filckr page. Instructions on Rebrickable Edited January 20, 2024 by needyblue Quote
CardinalBricks Posted January 23, 2024 Posted January 23, 2024 I think this is fantastic. My favorite interior bit is the bar, I love the black and azures together, you've really made this look like an exciting place to be. I also love what you've done with the middle alleyway, but if this were my build, I would stick 2 8x16 baseplates onto the side with the green building and extend it, there's just not a lot you can do with a 6 stud interior width (although you've definitely made the best of it). The exterior detail on the comedy club building looks great, particularly the effect of the 1x1 curved slope within the arches, but also the spacing of the grey columns. For some reason I'd never thought of mounting the newer 1x6 double door frame at 45 degrees before, even though I've done that with the 1x4 door many times- what a great idea Quote
TeriXeri Posted January 23, 2024 Posted January 23, 2024 (edited) Especially love that pizza store, the size of it also makes it fit in a City style scale, which uses 8x16 modules currently. The large building does look nice too of course , the bar interior is nice, and the upper floor stage is a good size for a place like this. Edited January 23, 2024 by TeriXeri Quote
jval Posted January 23, 2024 Posted January 23, 2024 Very well done! Great exterior, nice color scheme of the buildings, great details. I love the layout with the alley between. Great use of space in the pizza store! Nice touch the trans-blue bricks behind the bar! Quote
needyblue Posted January 23, 2024 Author Posted January 23, 2024 Thank you for your feedback. I'm happy to read that you like my design. My first design was with lighting. I used the Lego light and battery box from the Ideas 21335 set. But it didn't look good. Quote
LEGO Train 12 Volts Posted January 24, 2024 Posted January 24, 2024 The pizzeria is very nice with the oven and the black chimney! I like the rolling pin hanging on the wall! Quote
Withacee Posted January 27, 2024 Posted January 27, 2024 What a great build. I love the façade and the colour combinations. Interiors are great too. Would fit right in in our city! Keep clicking those bricks together! Quote
