iamded Posted July 22, 2008 Posted July 22, 2008 (edited) First off, I stuck this here because it's more about the guitar itself, it's looks and whatnot, not the music it plays. But if the mods or Admins feel it should be in Culture and Multimedia, please move it. Thanks. Now, onto the guitar! [Pic is link to site.] Isn't it beautiful? I love the colouring, the rust look is spot on, and all those pipes and wires and glowing electricity... The thing that inspired me to post it here (besides the fact that some people might find it interesting) is the gears used in it look remarkably similar to Lego gears. It doesn't say they're Lego, but I have my suspicions. I suggest reading the description on the site too, it's quite interesting, with more pics and a youtube vid of the thing in action. Here's the link again. And lastly, if this is your kind of thing, you might want to check out Thunder Eagle Custom Guitar's other Steampunk creation. This one, titled the Villanizer, comes complete with it's own copper piping, lightbulbs, great rusty looks and those suspiciously Lego-looking cogs. Peace ~iamded Edited July 22, 2008 by iamded Quote
Eilif Posted July 23, 2008 Posted July 23, 2008 Yep, those are definately LEGO gears on both guitars. This guy does great stuff, but for some reason, he neglects to properly age the big copper pipes on both of his guitars, so you have this great "aged" guitar with copper tubing whose only sign of use is small burns where it was soldered together. Squeaker Posted July 24, 2008 Posted July 24, 2008 (edited) I spy more LEGO! On the second guitar you showed, tell me those aren't LEGO tubes going to the "dissconnected' piece. Cool guitars, but they are a little too over-rusted. Also, I don't really like the glowing orb in the second one, it's not very steam. Edited July 24, 2008 by Squeaker Quote
iamded Posted July 24, 2008 Author Posted July 24, 2008 (edited) Also, I don't really like the glowing orb in the second one, it's not very steam. But it does look awesome. It's like a mini plasma globe plate. ~Peace Edited July 24, 2008 by iamded Quote
Cardinal Brick Posted July 27, 2008 Posted July 27, 2008 It looks excellent. I love steampunk and another great use of Lego Quote
