Posted February 25, 20241 yr Elf Delve Neddi was an elf who loved the sunlight and the soil. She tended to her garden with care and joy, using her knowledge of herbs and plants to create potions and remedies. But lately, her plants had been wilting and dying, afflicted by a mysterious blight. The only cure, she learned, was a rare ingredient: the luminaria fungus, a glowing organism that thrived in the darkest depths of the Nyx caves. Reluctantly, she agreed to venture into the underground realm, accompanied by her two acquaintances: Rhalyf, a curious wanderer from the south, and Folgaen, a clever and daring warrior. They made their way through the winding tunnels, facing dangers and wonders along the way. They reached a large cavern, where a small lake shimmered under the light of crystals. A water wheel turned slowly, powering a broken chain of gears. A wooden bridge spanned the lake, leading to a door on the other side. Folgaen was the first to cross the bridge, confident and curious. He stepped lightly on the planks, humming a tune. But halfway across, he heard a loud crack. He looked down and saw one of the boards break under his feet. As Folgaen falls towards the water, you hear him scream and see him grab the rope. You also see something else: a pair of yellow eyes emerging from the depths. Roll for initiative. Spoiler I created this delve for a LOLUG collaboration based on SquatchLUG’s Dungeon Delve, a Dungeons and Dragons themed modular build. This is a double-wide module. I’ve included two figures worth mentioning. The first is Neddi the Elf Gardener, making her first reappearance since I created her for Hired Hands of Historica. The second is my Guilds of Historica sigfig, Rhalyf the Wanderer. Music in the video is Ripper Riddles by TimKulig and used under CC4 license.
February 29, 2024Feb 29 The lights and moving gears in this are really fun, and I like the way it's framed by the ups and downs of the cave. Are we going to get a part 2? Because you seem to have left us hanging
June 11, 2024Jun 11 Nice build! I like the horizontal layout of the cavern area and the nice little cave details like the stalactites and mushrooms. The moving gears and lighting also really add to the atmosphere. Also not sure if it’s just a side effect of you lighting setup and not intentional, but I really like how the foreground with the bridge and characters is well illuminated while the back of the cave is more dimly lit by the lights and feels like a gloomy cave.
June 28, 2024Jun 28 Fun little build! I bet you had a great time with the gears! The lighting on the torch, particularly the flickering in the video is great. I also like the homage to the super-vague D&D plot hooks!
