I suggest checking the New Elementary article about the P1, you have decent photos about the part there. It is 7x7 modules, I think you can measure the position of sections based on that. Thanks buddy; now I see that I need two of them to test idea that is crossing my mind... Kind regards BTW, great review as ever

Apparently the stock Defender performs better in terms of "off-roading" . While I do not agree what they say about transmission it does seem the rest seems to be pretty valid points. They IMO look cool after swapping the tyres! Edited July 28, 2024Jul 28 by thekoRngear
July 28, 2024Jul 28 Author @kbalage How about Unimog tyres? I get this set on aug 1 so I can try anyhow, just curious, as they don't seem to be that much bigger than the new stock 42177 tyres.

July 31, 2024Jul 31 Mercedes Benz G-500 set arrived today, interestingly received the standard box design and 20 odd plastic bags instead of the new paper packaging. Didn’t intend purchasing until discounted later in the year, but was available online with 20% off the NZD$449.99 retail price already! Edited July 31, 2024Jul 31 by LegoHoops Image

I've heard or read somewhere that apparently the same goes for sets sold in Australia. No idea why though

I might be wrong but the coils on the second spring look the same as the coils on the soft LBG shocks.

August 1, 2024Aug 1 I received my 42177 today (in the Netherlands) 1 plastic bag with wheels and frames, all the parts in paper bags. But in some bags are smaller paper bags with snall parts like pins, but in other bags are small plastic bags with smaller parts. Have opened bag nr 8 now, waiting what is next.
August 1, 2024Aug 1 That's completely normal, there's supposed to be one plastic unnumbered bag and the rest is paper while the internal are also plastic.

Maybe you find it a bit too soft? Yeah, I originally substituted the Soft Shock Absorber with a Black body - didn’t want the Light Bluish Grey body. But as it turns out the G-Wagen got a bit saggy in the front end after a couple of days, so now it has two Hard Shock Absorbers.

And I figured out that you maybe did not like the LBG tone in the shock absorbers settings therefore replacing the coils 👍
August 2, 2024Aug 2 Author 5.5L axle instead of 4L axle with stop TLG needs to stop being so incompetent. EDIT: oops, the 5.5L axle should have been where the HOG dial goes but I thought that required 4L with stop. My bad, all sorted, if I could put the digital instructions on my computer monitor it would be bigger and I could even zoom in, but only.book 2 is on the LEGO website currently. August 2, 2024Aug 2 I had a similar occurrence with 42139. I was really disappointed and angry, it's really a manor issue these days.
August 3, 2024Aug 3 The Mercedes G-500 G-Wagen is the first Lego Technic set I have brought to build since the Ferrari Daytona SP3. The selection of new parts, Reddish Orange, functions piqued my interest and I have the Land Rover Defender in “Pimped” form. Also the first set since the Claas Xerion 5000 Tractor that I have used the instruction booklet, I usually use the digital version on an iPad - due to having it before the 1st August the digital instructions weren’t available. Enjoyable build, a few interesting techniques, live axle has plenty of articulation, just found the Mercedes sat better with all four front Shock Absorbers having the Hard Spring - not sagging, sitting higher in its travel. Built Mercedes with a few minor changes, substituted a few DBG parts for Black, Black 3L Pins in areas, colour matched roof box handles, etc. Did a small headlight mod to include White Halos around the headlight with a Trans-Clear Wheelchair Wheel as the lens. Added a flare to front guards and larger rear mud flaps - still a work in progress. The Mercedes will get disassembled shorty as my daughter wants to build it too. After that we’ll have a crack at a few more modifications, I’m not a fan of the exposed Liftarm wheel arches. Hopefully the McLaren P1 will arrive from Australia next week, so will be the next project. Edited August 3, 2024Aug 3 by LegoHoops Grammar

I only so far after building the real set added LBG 1x1 round tiles to the engine pistons but I have a seperate replica chassis for my MODs. by replica I mean because I built it from.watching a speed build before the set came out officially, so no new parts are in it.
August 3, 2024Aug 3 @LegoHoops are you a Lego ambasador or something? How did you get it before the release date?
