I don´t think that Bricklink plays any role in such decisions, however they might consider the Creator 3 in 1 Castle as such. Eitherway I don´t think they will release another Castle as long as the Lion Knights Castle is out on the shelves.
October 13, 2024Oct 13 Would they have a problem having 2 castles out at the same time per se? When I was young I think I remember there being more than 1 - admittedly that would have been the late 80’s / early 90’s so a long time ago and I may be misremembering! I think having a smaller castle to accompany the lion knight one would make sense, albeit I agree that the 3-in-1 castle fulfils that role - when does it retire? I also agree and don’t think they would count the bricklink one, as it was a limited - one time - run and so not readily available to everyone.

And, no surely they won´t have a problem to have two castles at the same time out, but probably to have two with a certain size. If they would do a Black Falcon Castle, I would expect it to be much smaller than the Lion Knights Castle, with around 200-250€ price range. And I don´t actually think they even see the need for another Castle right now but you never know. Anyways for the next Castle Set I would expect something else, like a Wolfpack Tower for instance. Many wish for a Joust set, that might also be a possibility.
October 13, 2024Oct 13 I’d love a joust set too, as it would give a chance to show some new factions. Otherwise I could see Lego doing some smaller scale GWPs like a hay carriage, etc.
October 13, 2024Oct 13 I'd be good with a Joust set if we got some new/different colored Horses & some new factions along with a new princess, queen & king figure.

I agree it's nice to have the updated BF, LIon knights, Forestmen, and Wolpack but I would love some new factions like they had done with that set with the figures as prizes that is supposed to release sometime next year. It would be nice if Lego does do a new castle theme if they would do a poll like they did with aforementioned set with the space and knights. They could give us some options for good factions with heraldry like Owls, Fox, fish, horse, swallow, kingfisher, etc and give us some interesting antagonists like Goblins, Demons, gargoyles, werewolves, Ghouls, or something completely new. Have us vote on it and make a great theme with a couple of good factions and a couple of evil factions and make a good story with the sets.

And I don´t actually think they even see the need for another Castle right now but you never know. I suspect that the next Castle offering before at least 2026 (BDP notwithstanding) will be another Creator set, as the Black Falcons’ 3-in-1 is a good set for both kids and AFOLs (and lends itself well to buying multiples!). Something similar in 2HY 2025 is a decent possibility, though I doubt that it will be another full castle (31120 was a soft remake of the Black Falcons’ Fortress, so I can see the next set being based on the Guarded Inn). Whatever it is, I am expecting that it will be for the Lion Knights; I also think that the price range will be around $80-$140, not $200-$250, since non-18+ sets are rarely that expensive (and we are not getting two 18+ Castle sets back-to-back - Especially with the rumour of Blacktron’s return!). A joust/tournament set is simply a must, and provides another facet of medieval life that has yet to be represented in 18+ form! I am personally hoping to get four competitors - Falcons and Lions can be the main two, but we need a Black Knight and maybe a Raven/Crow knight as well to make the competition feel less like a conflict between two houses. New horse colours are essential; I would like to see the white horse from Harry Potter be reused (Lions), a new grey horse (Falcons), and a new/revived black horse (Black Knights)!

October 14, 2024Oct 14 I don't care about the kids, just feed my nostalgia Would love to see something like the dragon wagon get remade. Or Wolfpack tower. It'd be a shame to get just one small set though, so I'd hope to see several other sets at the same time. Maybe like $500 in combined MSRP in a calendar year. Multiple sets would make it easier to bring a variety of factions/minifigs out vs one big set that kind of has to be just one faction with a few extras. But really....I just want a dedicated castle CMF. Not DnD, but actual castle. Unique figs and accessories are the limiting factor to MOC's after all. Edited October 14, 2024Oct 14 by woodford86

We got a D2C joust set over a decade ago, but even then it only had 2 horses In a surprise twist, a melee joust with 6 to 8 knights in full armor. No need for LEGO to include new horses with barding, but new minifig prints are for sure a necessity then to distinguish the mock combatants. Perhaps even swords in reddish brown then.

Black Knights are definitely going to be the next revived faction - They are iconic and popular, visually distinct from the current factions, and easy to slot into any setting (Dragon Masters and Fright Knights are more limited to fantasy settings). On 10/14/2024 at 5:25 AM, Roebuck said: And a new barding or two please Of course! We already have two from the LKC, so that frees up element slots as long as the (hypothetical!) joust set starts production before the LKC retires (which is the end of 2025, so a 2026 joust would have those parts available). Also, the Lion and Falcon knight pieces can be reused as well, so the only new elements absolutely needed for a joust set are the Minifigs and bardings for the two additional competitors.

I would prefer something new and fresh instead of just updating old themes and factions. I think lego should do their own theme with Men, Elves, and Dwarves against some Goblins, Ghouls, and Maybe some undead charaters like the white walkers from Game of Thrones. Demons would be great to get. It would be nice to get some lizard people or cat like people like the Khajit from Elder Scrolls. There is so much they could do that hasn't been done in lego form. I did like a lot of the Chima characters and used them in my fantasy world. Nexo Knights had some great villains that could be used for fantasy, Ninjago also has some great villains that I use and customize for my world. Ninjago has a frog guy in the Dragons rising show and I'm hoping Lego does make him in a set so I can build an army of frog people. There are even some great figs in Monkey kid that can be customized. With how well Castle has been selling especially in the BDP and the popularity of the DnD Cmf I hope lego can see that Fantasy/Castle is a viable option and they can have a creative team come up with something interesting.

Well obviously they wouldn´t just bring Fantasy Era back in a modernized version anyways, for that it is way to young IMO. But something similar to it, like you mentioned would be great. I just would hope they keep it close to medieval design wise. I don´t need another Knights Kingdom with colourful Knights like they still use it in Ninjago or Steampunk dwarfes.

October 16, 2024Oct 16 I'm not a big fan of weird fantasy creature minifigs. That was my issue with Nexo Knights. The minifigs just weren't what I was looking for. I don't mind transparent heads, hair & such but I personally don't care for mismatched limbs whether in color or shape. And some of the Heads they had in Nexo were just a bit too bizarre for my tastes. I guess that's also part of why despite really liking the builds in some of the Ninjago & Monkey Kid sets I just don't care for most of the minifigs or the Mechs. So I'd prefer the Castle theme or what little we get stick to more realistic or believable minifigs for the most part. I'm okay with dwarves, elves & such and even a Centaur or two.

I mean in some fantasy worlds dwarves are even using guns and cannons - I prefer the typical dwarve with an Axe or Hammer instead. The old fantasy eare depicted them quite well I think, and something similar, with todays building style would be great to get IMO. It could be a way to gage interest in a full castle wave if they had a castle sub theme. You could have a museum fortress/ castle or a reenactment set like they do in my home town Dover Castle has them regularly. The only thing is I have no idea how they would fit in a helicopter in those kind of sets :D i remember when building the LKC that it mentioned the Wolfpack and then obviously we got a Wolfpack figure in MTS. I haven’t gotten round to building or buying MTS yet but were there any clues or easter eggs that could suggest what we might get next year or in the near future? Feel like icons is the home of castle sets now, all the time we have ninjago feel like a castle wave/theme aimed at all ages would never work as kids would go for the ninjago sets and Lego relies more on license themes now. I wish I’d gotten castle sets when they were out at the time. I do hope we get something in 2025 not sure when the rumors for icons sets will start coming out Castle in City, as much as I'd like this, I doubt that this will happen. The only thing I could imagine would be some sort of Forest Exploration subtheme with some castle ruins. I guess that in the next years we'll get an exclusive retro Castle set every two years: - 2022: Lion Knights' Castle - 2024: Medieval Town Square - 2026: ??? Knights' Tournament / Black Knights' Castle / Wolfpack Castle - 2028: ??? Medieval Town Center (addition to MTS with missing buildings like bakery, town hall, trader's store, blacksmith, ...) - 2030: ??? Knights' Tournament / Black Knights' Castle / Wolfpack Castle - 2032: ??? giant (yellow) Castle (100 years of Lego) Plus there might of coursd be a GWP at least every second year.
