Vindice Posted October 26, 2011 Posted October 26, 2011 The prices do seem to have a huge mark-up. Lets just hope the TRU 3 for 2 offers come around with the same regularity next year as we may need them! Failing that, it looks like a trip to America! Who's with me?! Quote
Anio Posted October 26, 2011 Posted October 26, 2011 (edited) In another thread, there are some bargains, and the tittle is "Now for everyone". But in this thread, when I see the prices of these models, I would rather say "Not for everyone". re Edited October 26, 2011 by Anio Quote
Cwetqo Posted October 26, 2011 Posted October 26, 2011 Euro-dollar difference is again huge. I can now see why SW is so popular in the states and not so in europe. 75 euro for xwing is daylight robbery, while 42eur (US price) seems much better. I know, this has been discussed many times , but I cannot help mayself to not be angry when I see such nice sets with prices I am not willing to pay. Quote

Too cool for us...wait a min, you have an account on a children's toy forum? Now that's odd... If u can't afford Lego I suggest quitting your Walmart greeter job or just stealing the stuff, sounds like u have little to lose anyway Lego Star Wars is a con - 10% price inflation per annum for reissues? But that's the game - and u ain't required to play... Quote

REAL pricing for 2012 new sets from Amazon.fr Planet Series 1 9674 – Naboo Starfighter and Naboo 11.90€ 9675 – Sebulba’s Podracer and Tatooine 11.90€ 9676 – TIE Interceptor and Death Star 11.90€ System sets 9488 – ARC Trooper & Commando Droid Battle Pack 14.40€ 9489 – Endor Rebel Trooper & Imperial Trooper 14.40€ 9490 – Droid Escape 26.20€ 9491 – Geonosian Cannon 26.20€ 9492 – Tie Fighter 57.10€ 9493 – X-wing Starfighter 69.70€ Well that's nice! I can kinda understand, if a set in EU costs as many € as a set costs $ in US, but adding another €6 or more??? I really hoped to start building up my imperial forces (ah those lovely sandtroopers). Lobot Posted October 26, 2011 Posted October 26, 2011 Has anyone seen the UK (£) prices yet? I’ve just compared the UK (£) price against the (German) € price for two sets on the Lego website and it’s about £1 = €1.15, so on that basis the X-wing will be £60. Actually, considering the old version was £45 and this one looks a lot nicer (and presumably contains several more parts) it doesn’t seem too bad! If this is correct, the battle packs will be about £12.50, Tie Fighter £50 & the Droid escape £22.75 (which will presumably be rounded up to 22.99!) I’m really looking forward to next year, lots of nice OT sets to buy, I just hope they do a new Cloud City soon... Quote
Zzz Posted October 26, 2011 Posted October 26, 2011 70€ for the X-Wing seems not like a big increase. In the past years we had sets with 396 (ARC) and 398 (Jedi shuttle) parts in this range. I assume the X has about 500 pieces. 60€ is a bit harsh for the TIE, but I guess in France, Germany, UK, Italy we will get it cheaper over Amazon very soon. Quote

StoutFiles Posted October 26, 2011 Posted October 26, 2011 To be perfectly honest, I'm happy prices are going up. I already own just about every ship from the OT already, so I don't really want to be tempted to buy remakes forever. And, of course, high prices help hold the value of the sets I already have. Certain sets I'd be more than happy to pay the premium on, such as a new Cloud City set, which would be more than worth it. Quote
JackJonespaw Posted December 12, 2011 Posted December 12, 2011 I had a friend tell me today that he had gotten a shadow ARF trooper at the Lego store for 20 bucks, no deals, from a Lego store employee. Does anyone know anything about this? And, secondly, is this legal? Quote
mutley777 Posted December 12, 2011 Posted December 12, 2011 Has anyone seen the UK (£) prices yet? If you look at The Entertainer website. They have all the new 2012 sets inc planet sets listed with price and good news is arc battle pack still only £10 9488 Elite clone battle pack £10 9489 Endor battle pack £12 9490 Droid escape £20 9491 Geonosian cannon £20 9492 Tie Fighter £49.99 9493 X Wing £49.99 9674 Naboo Planet £10 9675 Sebulba Planet £10 9676 Tie interceptor planet £10 All out of stock though I doubt these prices are 100% reliable as the Entertainer Shop quite often marks up RRP. They should give us a pretty good idea though. Quote
mutley777 Posted December 23, 2011 Posted December 23, 2011 In the UK Woolworths online has the 5 of the new jan sets available to order. Looks like we could have battle pack price increases as they are £12 Woolworths Lego Star Wars X-wing £50 Tie Figter £50 Droid Escape £20 Endor BP £12 Clone & Droid BP £12 Quote
Super Brick Collector Posted December 25, 2011 Posted December 25, 2011 Wow those prices are abit high. But what can you expect from Lego. Their product gets better, so the prices go up. I'll just wait for to get them. I know some good deals will come up. Quote
mutley777 Posted December 25, 2011 Posted December 25, 2011 The new star wars sets are ready for order today for collection tomorrow at Argos! Just ordered the new BP's and the Geonosian cannon. It does seem that UK BP prices have gone up £2 for the new ones but the Geonosian cannon and Escape pod sets are only £20! The planet sets are £10 each as expected. Quote
